UK chart data is now in for the week ending 7th December, revealing that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has zoomed back up to third place, serving as Nintendo's strongest title of the week.
The game has raced back ahead of Pokémon Sword and Shield for the first time since the new games launched last month, reinstalling itself as the Switch's biggest cheese. The Pokémon games are now sitting in fifth and tenth respectively, with Luigi's Mansion 3 also seeing a small jump into seventh.
Elsewhere, Super Mario Odyssey has re-entered the charts at number 32, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is at 36, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has just squeezed into the top 40 by taking the final spot.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a beast as always but it is Luigi's Mansion 3 sales performance which is the most impressive here. I guess the UK does love the green fella!
This pleases the plant.
It's more damming on the games industry in the UK that something you get free with a console manages to effect the charts.
Is this game immortal or something ?
The next GTA V evergreen ?
Lovely screenshot thanks. Grats Nintendo!
The Mario Kart 8 DX Switch bundle is moving a ton of units.
Pokemon Sword/Shield weekly UK retail sales:
1) ~190,000
2) ~75,000
3) ~75,000
4) ~45,000
5) ~40,000
Total: ~425,000
@dew12333
People likely choose that bundle because of the game included so of course it should count.
Fifa 20 is included in a lot of Playstation bundles as was Sea of Thieves with Xbox One which is why it jumped up the charts last week. As long as it is properly recorded who cares how the game was purchased?
It is also a good indicator of how a console is selling.
Smash Bros. used to sell like hotcakes but that's all died down now.
Maybe you guys should just crop out #1 and 2 since those seems to be perpetually locked onto FIFA and CoD anyway. As far as I'm concerned #3 is where the real list starts.
Great to see Luigis mansion still selling well. It’s a quality game and deserves its time in the sun. Also hopefully this will mean more in the future.
@westman98 Pokémon sold 360k in UK this week in physical sales?? Wow
Smash sales are down, but it sold so much so it is not a problem, especially in the UK and especially when it is very high in the US and Japan
this is not good news for those of us wishing for MK9 with an adventure mode!
With probably close to 50 million Switch systems out there soon, I hope EA will pull their heads out of their asses and release a Madden, even if it is gimped.
Luigis Mansion 3 is doing superbly well
The holiday bundles seem to be doing their jobs well.
There are only two types of people. People who like Mario Kart and people who haven't played it
I ordered Luigi’s Mansion 3, Ring Fit Adventure and Pokémon Swird last week for my son, so I did my part! Happy Christmas Nintendo 😊
@Tantani
Pokemon sold ~360,000 copies in the UK from launch until now.
@dew12333 Your statement defies logic. If you want to know why, read above some of the other people's well put answers to your comment.
@westman98 ohhhh.... make more sense lol
Still impressive
Sea of Thieves is probably the most impressive result here, a new IP that is still doing well nearly 2 years after its initial launch.
@Grumblevolcano
Sea if Thieves is performing as well as it is because it is bundled with the all-digital Xbox One S at a dirt-cheap price.
The same applies Mario Kart 8 DX, though that game sells well even when not bundled.
Amazing for Luigi Mansion 3. Great game.
Also for Jedi Fallen Order - another fantastic story driven single player game.
Wait - rehashed Assassin Creed Rebel Collection with archaic gameplay didn't even make the top 40?... shocking! 🙄
It's great that last gen consoles like Xbox One and PS4 are still doing well sales wise. Will be interesting to see if Sony can catch up to Switch as 40 million strong and it's next gen rivals haven't even launched yet.
@Cosats
Not sure how you work that out and I don't see a comment, the chart should be a guide to what is popular within the uk games market, but it's clouded by games that the person may not have any interest in but bought because it was a better deal. Idon't think it's wrong to think that consoles come with digital codes nowadays as lots of people just sold on the free games.
