I cut four (4) strips of black felt and used some adhesive to bond them to the four vertical bump out zones down inside. Now nothing but felt comes into contact with the glass, all the way up and down. IMO better than the fix described above.
@gatorboi352 "I'll take this conversation one step higher. Do we need motion controls in gaming? Is ARMS and 1 2 Switch what is going to sell the system? Is anything motion related going to be worth a focal point?"
Fill your stupid backpacks with all your devices and your phone, yeah, carry a tablet around too - - because the PORTABLE GAMING DEVICE YOU ARE USING DOESN'T INCLUDE A BASIC WEB BROWSER FUNCTION. WOW.
"I don't want internet on my portable game device, I just want to press pause and then grab my phone or look for my tablet and then log into that and go online etc etc..."
Do you people not realize how convenient it is to have a browser on a portable — PORTABLE — gaming device??? HOLY F, WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE??????????
"The browser doesn't matter. Seriously, that does. Not. Matter.
But the Netflix it should get. And it will. I mean, they don't really have to do anything. Netflix will want to put an app on their system once it's out."
Holy sh*t is this a misguided statement right here. Let me get this straight, you want to watch movies on it — but not have access to game guides and/or video walkthroughs...???? You know... the internet????
I'm not asking for a bunch of apps like Netflix but come on.
Put it this way, guys: The Switch has a "Share" button to send pics to social media etc - - - - - so why not have a browser so you can access those social media places if you want to??? Makes ZERO sense to me.
No offense but if you are a grown man and have an interest in the weather, news, etc... the things you listed... you should prob own a smart phone before you buy more video games. I'm sure you're a nice guy and all, just seems strange to me.
Oh and I agree — there should be a browser on the Switch.
HAHAHAHA!! You sound a lot like me! I usually steer away from any "elf" or "sword" looking things, never liked Lord of the Rings etc.
That being said, oh my god, you need to play a Zelda game. If not this one, at least give Wind Waker a shot. It is one of ** the ** greatest, most ingeniously designed video games ever, ever made. I promise you that is no exaggeration.
You know what? I've been coming here since the Switch announcement... and it just dawned on me how quality this site really is. As a former writer/editor for a monthly gaming magazine (pulp), I really appreciate a well-done article. The internet has tons of gaming-related content but how much of it is high-quality content? This... this is rare. Thank you
Ever think maybe some players might want to seamlessly jump online to read Switch-related articles or to read a faq to help with beating a game? The Switch screen is also larger and easier to view. Who would prefer to mess with a phone for this if it is built into the Switch?
"It should be able to do 75m-80m without any issue though as long as it has consistent quality releases from Nintendo and as long as it's continued to be marketed properly."
omfg are you serious?????????????????????????????????????
Ok so I know this might sound like crazy talk but if I wanted to play 100 cheap thrill mobile games I'd play them on my mobile phone. You know, the one I already have right now? The ones that are free or cost, like, $5?
I'm buying a Switch because - and I know this may sound absolutely NUTS to the Kool-Aid drinkers - it's probably supposed to offer lots of awesome games that are far more evolved than those...?
"When I see people unable to process a game like this from the trailer I'm guessing they haven't been exposed to the hundreds of clever game ideas that have appeared on smartphones for years now."
Too bad the difference is, if I wanted to play 100 cheap thrill mobile games I'd play them on my mobile phone. You know, the one I already have right now? The ones that are free or cost, like, $5?

"That aside, you're listing mainly Nintendo 1st party milestone games from the SNES era."
Seriously?
NES and SNES had the support of — LITERALLY — every single "AAA"-making 3rd party game company on the face of the earth. You know, like Capcom, Konami, Broderbund, Taito, Namco, Squaresoft, Acclaim, THQ etc etc etc etc etc etc
"A Nintendo console has NEVER had significant AAA support."
I'm not sure if I've ever read anything more incorrect about a video game company in my entire life. NES and SNES had more third-party support than any company could ever dream of.
"Anyone claiming a brand new Mass Effect: Andromeda, Prey, Tekken 7, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Citizen, Crackdown 3, Death Stranding, Kingdom Hearts 3, Quake Champions, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed: Empire, Far Cry 5, Battlefront 2, etc., as well as a few of the most acclaimed games from 2016 just for the hell of it, like Doom, Overwatch, Titanfall 2, Dark Souls III, Firewatch, The Witness, Dishonoured 2, Final Fantasy XV, No Man's Sky, Street Fighter V, Watch Dogs 2, The Witcher 3, etc.—alongside all of Nintendo's biggest and best first party games—wouldn't sell well on and indeed sell the Switch is being a blind fanboy moron. "
Wow, an actual voice of reason. Did this place run out of Kool-Aid?
@Kosmo "Currently there are 80+ announced games and more announced EVERY DAY. Literally... I defy anyone to actually finish all of those games before Mario Odyssey comes out."
Too bad almost all of it is shovelware. With those choices who the hell wants to "finish all of those games?"
Don't get me wrong, I pre-ordered and can't wait for Zelda. But 90% of the general Nintendo gaming public doesn't give a ____ about Jack Party Box or whatever it's called. It's not what the Switch needs. The Switch needs strong AAA games. Especially after the Wii U debacle.
I know we all love Nintendo but people need to wake up and apply some common sense.
Not gonna happen, guys. Wii was revolutionary, got mega press, appealed to young and old and everyone in-between. It also included FREE GAMES that anyone could enjoy (i.e.; Bowling). It was priced decent too. Switch does not have this formula, not even close. At **best** 50 mil units, lifetime.
@jimi If I'm being honest I will say I agree that the 3rd-party support for Switch is LAME. Indie games don't count as "serious 3rd party support," sorry but they just don't. After reading your diatribe I have to ask you though: holy F man, why are you even on this website?
@sleepinglion Sweet. As far as portability goes, have you ever checked out rasp pie? You can fit that inside an NES cartridge housing, LOL!! Not sure what AVS is though...?
"...graphically, the hack games won't look as pretty as the games Nintendo put on the NES mini."
@Rogue76 < BZZZT! > WRONG!!! They look absolutely perfect in every way. And they play perfectly as well. Emulators like OpenEmu even have filters to make them look old school (scan lines, blur etc). Do the research!
@schuman9 OpenEmu has nothing to do with hakichu or whatever that other thing is called. Google OpenEmu, go to the link, download and you will thank me later, bro
@sleepinglion Mac? Just do what I did and get OpenEmu... easiest emu experience I have had in 20 years. Up and running games in 5-10 minutes. I almost slapped myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Dead serious.

Better than what was there, as in hard plastic...

Wow. Ouch.
Anyone who thinks Switch is getting many AAA-caliber 3rd-party games anytime soon (first 1-2 years) is quite literally delusional.
