Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?

@JaxonH

"The browser doesn't matter. Seriously, that does. Not. Matter.
But the Netflix it should get. And it will. I mean, they don't really have to do anything. Netflix will want to put an app on their system once it's out."

Holy sh*t is this a misguided statement right here. Let me get this straight, you want to watch movies on it — but not have access to game guides and/or video walkthroughs...???? You know... the internet????

@Anti-Matter

HAHAHAHA!! You sound a lot like me! I usually steer away from any "elf" or "sword" looking things, never liked Lord of the Rings etc.

That being said, oh my god, you need to play a Zelda game. If not this one, at least give Wind Waker a shot. It is one of ** the ** greatest, most ingeniously designed video games ever, ever made. I promise you that is no exaggeration.

Re: Talking Point: Considering Nintendo's Portable Future

You know what? I've been coming here since the Switch announcement... and it just dawned on me how quality this site really is. As a former writer/editor for a monthly gaming magazine (pulp), I really appreciate a well-done article. The internet has tons of gaming-related content but how much of it is high-quality content? This... this is rare. Thank you

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks A Web Browser Because It's A "Dedicated Video Game Platform"

@slatanek

"Only masochists use console web browsers."

What a dumb statement.

It's a console — AND A PORTABLE.

Ever think maybe some players might want to seamlessly jump online to read Switch-related articles or to read a faq to help with beating a game? The Switch screen is also larger and easier to view. Who would prefer to mess with a phone for this if it is built into the Switch?

Re: Snake Pass is Slithering Its Way To Switch

Rotgut

Ok so I know this might sound like crazy talk but if I wanted to play 100 cheap thrill mobile games I'd play them on my mobile phone. You know, the one I already have right now? The ones that are free or cost, like, $5?

I'm buying a Switch because - and I know this may sound absolutely NUTS to the Kool-Aid drinkers - it's probably supposed to offer lots of awesome games that are far more evolved than those...?

"When I see people unable to process a game like this from the trailer I'm guessing they haven't been exposed to the hundreds of clever game ideas that have appeared on smartphones for years now."

Too bad the difference is, if I wanted to play 100 cheap thrill mobile games I'd play them on my mobile phone. You know, the one I already have right now? The ones that are free or cost, like, $5?

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Responds to Criticism Over the Switch Launch Line-Up

@NEStalgia

"That aside, you're listing mainly Nintendo 1st party milestone games from the SNES era."

Seriously?

NES and SNES had the support of — LITERALLY — every single "AAA"-making 3rd party game company on the face of the earth. You know, like Capcom, Konami, Broderbund, Taito, Namco, Squaresoft, Acclaim, THQ etc etc etc etc etc etc

You have zero credibility here.

@impurekind

"Anyone claiming a brand new Mass Effect: Andromeda, Prey, Tekken 7, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Citizen, Crackdown 3, Death Stranding, Kingdom Hearts 3, Quake Champions, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Destiny 2, Assassin's Creed: Empire, Far Cry 5, Battlefront 2, etc., as well as a few of the most acclaimed games from 2016 just for the hell of it, like Doom, Overwatch, Titanfall 2, Dark Souls III, Firewatch, The Witness, Dishonoured 2, Final Fantasy XV, No Man's Sky, Street Fighter V, Watch Dogs 2, The Witcher 3, etc.—alongside all of Nintendo's biggest and best first party games—wouldn't sell well on and indeed sell the Switch is being a blind fanboy moron. "

Wow, an actual voice of reason. Did this place run out of Kool-Aid?

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Responds to Criticism Over the Switch Launch Line-Up

Rotgut

@Kosmo "Currently there are 80+ announced games and more announced EVERY DAY. Literally... I defy anyone to actually finish all of those games before Mario Odyssey comes out."

Too bad almost all of it is shovelware. With those choices who the hell wants to "finish all of those games?"

Don't get me wrong, I pre-ordered and can't wait for Zelda. But 90% of the general Nintendo gaming public doesn't give a ____ about Jack Party Box or whatever it's called. It's not what the Switch needs. The Switch needs strong AAA games. Especially after the Wii U debacle.

I know we all love Nintendo but people need to wake up and apply some common sense.

Re: New Hack Offers A Full Game Library On Your NES Classic Edition

Rotgut

"...graphically, the hack games won't look as pretty as the games Nintendo put on the NES mini."

@Rogue76 < BZZZT! > WRONG!!! They look absolutely perfect in every way. And they play perfectly as well. Emulators like OpenEmu even have filters to make them look old school (scan lines, blur etc). Do the research!
