Re: Nintendo On Why The Mario Kart World Album Isn't Available For Nintendo Music

RadioDog

@Pillowpants I totally agree with you, having songs organized by composer would be great. However, I can see the work on Nintendo’s side in digging up who actually composed each song, especially for some games where multiple composers were involved. There is potential for miscredit, and they’d rather avoid that, as a company who cares so much about keeping their image. I still think it’d be worth the risk, though.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th October)

RadioDog

I JUST finished Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on Immortal difficulty. What a game! Same feeling of accomplishment as beating Hollow Knight or a FromSoftware game. Had to dial down the difficulty afterwards to complete those devilish Divine Trials, though…

Going to continue the last case in the Apollo Justice trilogy. At least I think it’s the last... It’s great to play a bit here and there before bed! And these witnesses are hilarious xD

Also going to finally start Unicorn Overlord, very curious about this one. Strangely, the first Vanillaware game I ever played, even though I’ve always been curious about all their games!

Have a good weekend, everybody!

Re: Team Cherry's Already Got "Ambitious" Plans For Hollow Knight: Silksong Additional Content

RadioDog

Simply knowing that DLC is coming makes me just want to wait for that to come out, and get the game on a sale. I was going to buy Silksong day one if I stayed oblivious to any plans about DLC.

I honestly prefer when developers don’t do DLC for long single-player games. I think the DLC format works a lot better with multiplayer or run-based games, like fighters, strategy games and roguelikes.

Re: Beloved Fantasy City Builder 'Against The Storm' Arrives On Switch This June

RadioDog

@Spider-Kev I did not play the original Age of Wonders, although I do intend to eventually try out the latest entry. To my understanding, the latest Age of Wonders entry is more akin to the 4X genre (turn-based strategy, directly controlling units), while Against the Storm plays more like a shortened and simplified version of an Anno game (real-time resource management, with an emphasis on building placement).

Re: Beloved Fantasy City Builder 'Against The Storm' Arrives On Switch This June

RadioDog

My favourite city-building game on PC, this game really is amazingly designed. As everyone here has already mentioned, if there was ANY game that could get you into city-building and resource management, it’s this one. Can’t say I’d enjoy playing this with a controller myself, but if they add cross-saves and mouse controls down the line, they can take my money again.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Xenoblade Game? Rate Your Favourite For Our Upcoming Ranking

RadioDog

@Daniel36 I’m glad I’m not alone. I really tried to enjoy these games, to the point that I played all the entries, got pretty far into the games, but I never actually beat a single one (well, I beat Torna, but that doesn’t count). The stories are great, and the worlds are beatiful, but I just wished these games respected my time a bit more. The longer I played them, the slower they’d get. And the battle systems, even though they’re unique, would end up repetitive, with more incentive to grinding than applying strategy. If the games didn’t pack so much “stuff” into them, I think they’d shine even brighter.

Soundtracks are awesome, btw, especially 1 and 2.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Dragon Quest III (NES)

RadioDog

I don’t know a lot about DQ (only played VII and XI, really enjoyed XI) but I find it cool that, as generic as the NA cover may be, it still has Erdrick’s sword on the front, faithful to the design I know. Is this actually the first time the sword is shown?

Re: Video: Pokémon GO Footage Leaks Ahead Of Official Release

RadioDog

What's with the high golf socks? And why don't they stick with the style established in the other pokémon games? I'm still really curious about this game, but I feel like I'm starting to see the effects of Nintendo not caring so much about how affiliated developers treat their IPs...

Re: Feature: Looking Back at Six Years of Wii

RadioDog

It was my most anticipated console ever, way back when it was released, especially because Zelda was included in the launch line-up. Along these last years, I got to play and love Super Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword, as well as discover many old classics that became instant favourites, like the Mega Man series, Ghost n' Goblins, Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Paper Mario... Seriously, when I take a look at my Virtual Console library, I can't believe how many NES and SNES games I got there! And getting to replay games that I used to play when I was a kid, like Super Mario World, brought back so many memories.

Soon, Wii will become just that: memories, and really good ones at that! Thanks Nintendo
