They said it'd be a big ANNOUNCEMENT, not a big GAME 😅
Games like Paper Mario they drop out from nowhere and in less than a day everybody know about it. Crap like this they put all the light and prey that in one hour some people still remember
I don't think a proper Remake from a standard game makes sense right now and this "big project" is not necessarily a game. The biggest thing I can think that seems "doable" right now is a bundle o products linked in, like another live action movie with it's own game
But for real I think it's gonna be a Let's go gen2 or a spin-off (detective Pikachu Remake/remaster, Stadium/Coliseum, etc). If they didn't have announced Snap yet I should put my coins on it.
It's almost no drawbacks for a Switch "digital variant" since it would have a "physical variant" too. You can say it would slightly effect the line of production, but the real negative impact of have variants is very near to none.
That said, there are completely different situations (Xbox/PlayStation and Switch): the optical discs readers are much bigger and much expensive than the Switch card reader, I'm not sure how much it would help a cost drop. And in that case, there would be almost no excuse to such low amount of storage, and it probably much more expensive than the card reader
I have the SEGA AGES (and I had at Master System) and definitely I'll buy to play with my girl (she's not a gamer, but have nostalgia with Alex Kidd and I bought SEGA AGES to play with her)
I want a live action series of Zelda, Fire Emblem (that one should br "Game of Thrones" ) and Metroid Live Action, Mario and DK animated and Star Fox...
In the point of view of hardware, may be. The problem is it's still a Android Phone without any real gaming function that is not in others Android phones. If thwy have they're own game store and real devs start to work on this thinking as a handheld console, may be, just may be, some day some idiot in the world coud think "why I should buy a Switch if I can buy this?"
This game were awesome when it's lauched. But turns out it get old when they lauched Fire Emblem Warriors, with much better mechanics (imported from Fire Emblem games, but works surprisely good in a Warriors games)
All Shinobis! Altered Beast! All Street of Rage! Comics Zone! Golden Axe 1, 2, 3! Vectorman 1 and 2! But missing Sonic 3 and Sonic Knuckles is unforgivable in a Genesis list. Sonic CD (ok, it's not exactly Genesis) should be a incredible bonus (exactly because it's not exactly Genesis)
@ShadJV I agree, but Ubisoft is so close to Nintendo these days and I can't imagine this Smash without anyone from it. If you analyse the guesses some of them have historical links with Nintendo, like Ryu, Belmonts, Pac-Man. But Cloud? He represents the break between Nintendo and Square. I don't know, but I'm really sure someone is coming from Ubi, I was trying to figured out who.
I still believe in a Ubisoft character. At least one. Maybe Rayman? Rabbids (with the power to copy powers... Kirby anyone??) Sam Fisher (maybe a Snake's Echo)? Or Altair and Ezio (as normal and Echo)?
I don't care about on-line play. I'm thinking about subscribe the service because of the cloud saving and "virtual Console", but offers for prebuying games should be a good plus, even if only for first party. This year we'll have smash and next year fire emblem.
Of course this update is aiming homebrew. With a new paid retro service they'll try to shut down every single possible not allowed emulation.
Just when I'm thinking about unlock my Wii U (to inject wii, GameCube and VC games). But I'm at my parents' and I don't know if my autoupdate is off. I'll discover it at Sep. 11th 🤔
It should be my last purchase on my New 3DS, I don't think Nintendo could make anything that attract me back to the system after that. I may buy the bravely series (i didn't play neither games yet), but I'm expecting HD version with the 3rd on Switch.

Re: Poll: Which Remastered Mario Games Would You Pick For A 'Super Mario All-Stars 2'?
I think there may have 3 games:
Super Mario 3D All-Stars: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and both Galaxies
New Super Mario All-Stars: NSMB 1, 2 and Wii
Super Mario 3D Land Deluxe
Maybe something new, like a New NSMB or a new Super Mario 3D (Odyssey 2?)
Re: Monolith Soft Celebrates 10 Years Of Xenoblade Chronicles With Special Artwork
@JR150 Fire Emblem is a Nintendo's franchise since ever (developed by Intelligent Systems, not Monolith) and Astral Chain was developed by Platinum

"Idle"? Can I dream with Shinobi (3D, Ninja Gaiden style) or Phantasy Star (singleplayer)?
Re: Random: Nintendo's Taiwanese Distributor Rates Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker As 'Mature 18+'
I think you all miss yhe point. The game is rated for 24, that's why they didn't cover the rate of 6+

Re: Sega Is Listening To Fans, Would Love To See Shenmue And Sequel On Switch
I prefer a AGES then a remaster. It's almost the same, with a lower price. Bit I'd prefer to play Yakusa
