12./11. [3DS] Sumikko Gurashi: Mura o Tsukurundesu (Nippon Columbia) – 25.203 / 123.195 <80-100%> (+78%). Unsurprisingly, sales went up again this week, and the game has now sold over 100 000 units. It should be able to reach 150 000 units during the first week of January;
13./14. [3DS] Mario Party: Star Rush (Nintendo) – 25.015 / 135.625 <60-80%> (+87%). Sales remain strong, and should top 150 000 units next week;

20./19. [WIU] Splatoon (Nintendo) – 15.356 / 1.463.148 <80-100%> (+114%). It’s getting closer and closer to the 1.5 million units mark;"
@Tasuki No, they don't want people to steal it. That's another matter. I don't know why you associate two different things. It's you who makes no sense. People pirate NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, and Wii U games. It doesn't mean that Nintendo wants them to do that. Some people just decide to do that on their own initiative.
@Setery I know. I don't think that the average size of save data is 100 MB, though. It should be much smaller than that. It's safe to say that it should be enough for at least 200-300 games.
@Octane I'm not sure you're trying to say. This is an article about the shutting down of SplatNet. You said this: "Just a reminder that the Xbox 360 and PS3 are better supported than the Wii U at this point."
I don't see how the Xbox Live Gold and PS Plus have anything to do with this. Comparing them with SplatNet is nonsensical. Unless you were being off-topic, I take it that you insinuated that Microsoft and Sony didn't shut down their servers, which is incorrect.
However, if you were being off-topic and wanted to say that the paid services being offered by Microsoft and Sony are better than free services being offered by Nintendo, then I agree with you, but it has nothing to do whatsoever with this article.
@Octane More than 80 servers of PS3 games were shut down as of 2014. The Xbox Live Gold and PS Plus are paid services. You can't compare them with free services. It isn't about the competition or console wars. When you say something and some people don't agree with you, they may give you another viewpoint. That applies to anything, not just video games.
@Octane The point is that Sony shuts down their servers as well. Kill Strain was released in 2016, and its server has already been shut down. I wouldn't say that it's impressive. Also, according to this article, Nintendo is only going to shut down SplatNet, not the Splatoon's server. How does shutting down game servers equate better support than shutting down a companion website?
@ThanosReXXX It doesn't matter if it doesn't sound right to you. You aren't the one who decides which article will be used. You may think that "a Switch" doesn't sound right, but that doesn't make "an Switch" correct.
Do you also think that "an hour," "an heir," "an effect," "an essence," and "an FBI" sound off?
By the way, I think that "an HDMI" sounds natural. "A HDMI" sounds odd.
@Link506 "Mario Kart 8 (Wii U): Players will not be able to upload game-play videos to YouTube since they also post to Miiverse at the same time. The tournament function will also not be available."
@drich255 I think most people buy a Switch because they want to play games on it, not because it's hard to buy. I'm not sure what you're trying to say, though. If there is no stock shortage, the Switch will definitely sell better. If 100 people want to buy your product, but you can only produce 10, you can sell only 10. If you can produce 50, you can sell only 50. However, if you produce 200, 100 will be on the shelves. In that case, you have to slow down the production. The question is what is the number? I think that's what @Monkey_Balls wants to know.
@Monkey_Balls Maybe 200K units per week in Japan.
@drich255 Even if it's $150, many people will still think that it's too high. 10 people is many people.
@BanjoPickles Third-party support isn't irrelevant, but I don't think it's a decisive factor for a console to become successful. The PS Vita has good third-party support, but it's a failure. The third-party support for the Wii is mediocre, but it's one of the most successful consoles.
As for the Wii U, I think the most important problem is the lack of great first-party games in the first two years. The Wii U has many great games like Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Breath of the Wild, but they were released too late.
@FrankoAmmo You're mistaken. Nintendo doesn't decide which games will be released once the developers get the development kit. Nintendo doesn't set release dates either. Release dates are entirely up to the developers.
"How does publishing my content on the Nintendo eShop work? Who gets to control the price, release date and promotional materials?
@Anti-Matter Yes. My point is that "they" or Square Enix didn't exist back then. Square and Enix were separate companies. By the way, I just noticed that WarlockNem already told NEStalgia that.
@Colgo13 I fail to see what you mean. If the strategy was to create demand for selling more units, they wouldn't discontinue the NES Classic Edition when the demand was high. That would be illogical.
I believe Nintendo released the NES Classic Edition mainly because they wanted to sell something during the holiday season while preparing to release the Switch. It was never intended to be a long-term product.
@Crono1973 In this case, they probably want people to buy Virtual Console games.
@Colgo13 Or perhaps they planned to sell only a certain number of the NES Classic Edition. If they intended to create demand, they wouldn't discontinue a product when the demand for it is still high.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE As many people said, when you buy stuff and pay with PayPal, there is no fee. Why do you need to convert currencies? Even if you do, if you use your credit card, you have to pay the fee to the bank as well. You should apologize to @Agent721. That was inappropriate.
@gatorboi352 Microsoft has never been the top dog. Nintendo was the top dog with its Wii and DS. In terms of sales, the Xbox 360 is the 3rd place. The sales of the Xbox One is okay because Microsoft aggressively discounted the price.

@electrolite77 I was talking about this game. You can read the above comment.
@GameOtaku The PS4 version of FIFA 17 sold more than 11 million copies. It's one of the best-selling games. It sold 1.2 million copies in North America. Also, there are many more countries other than the US.
The PS4 version of Madden NFL 17 sold 3.13 million copies. It sold 2.16 million copies in North America.
@shani It definitely applies to the Switch and other consoles. People buy Switch because they want to play Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, etc. A lot of people don't have a Wii U, so if they want to play Breath of the Wild and/or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the choice is obvious.
