Re: Nintendo Of Europe Isn't Happy About Broken Street Dates

NinNin

@LuckyLand I think it's obvious. They care about their partners. If some retail shops can't sell Nintendo games because customers buy from other shops that break the rule, what do you think those shops will do?

@riki_sidekicks What if something doesn't go according to the plan?

Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of DOOM on Nintendo Switch

NinNin

@JaxonH Thanks for the detailed explanation. It's strange that both Digital Foundry and players are right when what they said seem to be opposite.

Did Digital Foundry use the hardest difficulty level in their analysis? He said that he used the Ultra-Violence difficulty level. That's just the hard mode, right?

Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of DOOM on Nintendo Switch

NinNin

@JaxonH Is the Digital Foundry's analysis accurate? I'm confused because they pointed out major frame rate and frame pacing issues, but you and other users who have played this game said that the frame rate was okay.

@jomo32 "For Nintendo consoles, do non-first party titles get price drops over time?"
Yes.

Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of DOOM on Nintendo Switch

NinNin

@BlueOcean "I love many Nintendo franchises but I am aware of how little Nintendo cares about them. They even said 2D Mario games sell much better than 3D Mario games so we are focusing on 2D Mario games. This was during the New Super Mario Bros. boom until New Super Mario Bros. U failed (according to them). They only care about the franchises that make money."

Isn't that a logical thing to do? They focus on making games that most people want. I don't think New Super Mario Bros. U is a failure. It sold 5.73 million copies. Do you have a source?

Also, Nintendo doesn't only care about their best-selling games. If that had been the case, Splatoon and Splatoon 2 wouldn't have existed, and Nintendo wouldn't have been making Metroid Prime 4.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to Get Japanese Voiceover Option in Free Launch DLC

NinNin

@Wexter Original isn't necessarily better, but some people still prefer the original sounds. It's like if you prefer coffee to tea, it doesn't mean that coffer is better.

As for subtitles, they are useful for the hearing impaired, but they are mainly for non-native speakers. It's much easier to read than to listen if you aren't a native speaker.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to Get Japanese Voiceover Option in Free Launch DLC

NinNin

@Wexter Actually, the main point of subtitles is to help people who aren't fluent in the language being spoken. If you're a native speaker of English, you don't need English subtitles. English subtitles are mainly for non-native speakers of English.

People who don't speak Japanese use English subtitles because they can read English text, but they don't understand Japanese.

"Don't be that person who disregards the English performance just because it is not the original."
It isn't about disregarding one language. You're missing the point. If one is German, when he plays a French game, it's up to him to choose to listen to the French audio or the German audio. It's his preference. When he chooses the French audio, it doesn't mean that he disregards the German audio. He may switch to the German audio later or keep switching between them while playing, but he can only choose one at a time.

Re: Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Update Tackles Load Times and Framerate on Switch

NinNin

@CheddarSword Less than 700K for a AAA game isn't many. It's okay at best. Mario Kart 8 sold 8.38 million copies. So you don't have the sales number of the Switch version? According to VGChartz, the global sales of the Switch version as of September 16th, 2017 is about 30,000 copies. I haven't heard anyone say that the Switch version sells well.

Why do you think most people who bought the Switch version had another version?

Re: Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Update Tackles Load Times and Framerate on Switch

NinNin

@FTL Yes, I'm okay with having to download an update for the multiplayer feature. The main point of owning game cards/discs is that you will always be able to play the games even when the servers are inaccessible someday.

As for the game card size, Square Enix uses a 32 GB game card for Dragon Quest Heroes I & II for Nintendo Switch, so other big companies can use 32 GB game cards.

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Soars As Switch Is Projected To Ship 16.74 Million Units By March

NinNin

@WiltonRoots As for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, they needed to port the game. The Switch can't run Wii U games, so it's not just increasing the resolution, but you're right that it wouldn't cost much.

@PlywoodStick It's six months because the Switch sold 7.63 millions units as of September 30th, 2017. The sales is probably about 8.7 million units by now. It's a given that the Switch will sell at least 14 million units by March 2018. I don't see why you think over 16 million units is unrealistic. Anyway, we'll see it in time.

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Soars As Switch Is Projected To Ship 16.74 Million Units By March

NinNin

@PlywoodStick I don't think it's optimistic at all. It's realistic. The Switch sold 7.63 million units as of September 30th, 2017. That's before the release of Super Mario Odyssey, and that's about 1.09 million units per month. There are 6 months from October 2017 to March 2018. If the average sales per month is the same, the Switch will sale 6.36 million more units. The total will be 14.17 million units. If you takes the holiday season into account, 16.74 million units is easily within reach.

Re: YouTuber Gets Banned From Site For Streaming Super Mario Odyssey

NinNin

@Tasuki Two reasons why your analogy is poor: first, sharing it with your friends at your home and sharing it to the world by posting a video on one of most popular websites in the world are entirely different, and second, if you live stream a game that's not released yet, people will know immediately that you probably got it from a store that broke the agreement or illegally got it, but if you let others know that you bought a bottle of beer when you weren't supposed to, it won't be clear to them if you told them the truth.

Let me tell you a better analogy: it's like a movie company planned to share its movie on its channel and its affiliate channels on YouTube on October 27th, 2017, then before that date someone bought the video of that movie from an employee of that company and posted it on his YouTube channel. What action do you think the movie company will take?
