Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd October (Europe)

@Nintenjoe64 The 50Hz versions have been optimised to play exactly like the 60Hz versions. The problem is however, that the Wii U is not able to output them in 50Hz, but does so in 60Hz. This results into double frames with every fifth frame, which doesn't only look horrible, but also means that the game won't register buttons you pressed when the console is displaying a double frame in that exact moment.

@Warbeard The article said, that we Europeans get a version with only the second game as well as a slightly more expensive Special Edition with both games. Since our Special Edition matches the US price, the conclusion is that we don't have to pay extra for the first game, but that we have also a cheaper option if we don't need it.

It doesn't matter btw where you live, since the same is true for all of Europe. Maybe netto prices are higher in Denmark, but that's due to your super high VAT and not Nintendo's fault. You can also always import from other European countries if that's cheaper for you.

Re: Rare Donkey Kong Delights to Grace the Wii U and 3DS

@GameInfinite Nintendo don't have to sign contracts with anyone regarding the DKC trilogy. They own these games. When Microsoft bought Rare, Nintendo sold only the rights for certain franchises and of course none of those have been games that used their own IPs.

@readyletsgo I hope you noticed that that one is not an original Nintendo and in fact not even a Gamecube controller, it's just designed to look like one. Other than the Gamecube controller, it has four (digital?) shoulder buttons and just like the Wii Classic Controller it will be plugged into the Wiimote.

Re: Naughty German Retailer Breaks Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Street Date

@MoonKnight7 This is not some hilly billy shop; we are talking about Saturn, which is together with Media Markt (second largest retailer of consumer electronics worldwide) part of the Metro Group (fifth-largest retailer in the world). Doggeypoopie will happen, if Nintendo still wants to sell some stuff in Europe.

That aside, you can get every game at least 2-3 days before release here. It is nothing news-worthy, nor does Nintendo or anybody else care.
