Re: Capcom Arcade Stadium Is Out Now On Nintendo Switch

I have a controller question: I’m trying to get my mayflash F300 arcade stick or my snes wireless controller to work wit h this. Problem is that neither has the “-“ button which is the “start” button. It’s greyed out in the game controller config menu so I can’t swap it there, and the switch controller remapping menu says both controllers cannot be remapped. Same thing for the insert coin button but the game allows you to reset this one, thankfully. Any ideas I could try? Right now, I can start games with the A button, but can’t continue, since you need the start button for that. Would be fun to play this with one of these controllers!

I wondered of it would go away for good when it went free to play, since I assumed it would always need to be connected to the internet as most free to play games are. I’m actually relieved to hear that they will patch it back in! Otherwise I was thinking the physical copies of the game would become rare and valuable because it would include the un-updated version you could play offline...

@Realness @Axelay71 Forgive me! I totally expect it to fall on the mediocre side of the scale, though the position of the gun kinda looked like one of the Einhander ones. C’mon Square, give us a port of Einhander on the switch! Moon got a release, so there’s some hope that obscure PS1 games could come...

@ooyah @the_pixel_king @embison So after looking into this a bit, I have some concerns and some hopes. It seems like City Connection is porting these titles, and they they were involved in the Psikyo switch ports. The good news is that they ended up bringing a bunch of those titles to the switch, including physical Western Collector’s Editions. However, the psikyo ports are pretty barebones and have more input lag compared to the 360 Cave-helmed ports. I don’t notice the input lag but that bothers high level players.

This is a big deal! I’ve been wanting the whole Cave collection to come to switch, and so far we only have ESP Ra De. (Which is great Btw). This is extra hopeful because it includes multiple games; Cave usually only releases one title at a time for full price. I’d love to also see dodonpachi and bug Princess collections!

I’m really enjoying it, though I attribute a good portion of my love to nostalgia for both N64 and Star Wars. I feel like they used the license pretty well in this game; the music is great and the cheesy cut scenes are good fun. I’m hoping for more to come to switch, with this, Doom 64, and the Turok games, there are some interesting 3rd party titles. Hoping they bring over Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire and Forsaken from the PC one day, too.

I've had my eye on this one for awhile, and I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. Really enjoying learning about the old games in Data Mode, and it's a neat touch to have the game characters giving commentary over the art gallery images. It feels like they put a lot of care into this version. There are levels based on Japanese Arcades, racing games, and all kinds of game-related goodies. I'd encourage people to try this out if they like shooters and 90s pixel art.
