Re: Soapbox: I'm Causing The Slow Death Of Gaming Magazines, And It Hurts

Nemodius

@NewAdvent
in a world of instant internet access, the paper magazine has been dying for some time, the quality of its content being only part of it

hell, even serious paper media like news papers are pretty pathetic, I remember weekday papers used to be as thick as today's Sunday papers and Sunday papers used the be a minimum of 4" thick on a bad week, it's just going, honestly I don't mind, there's enough eating trees as it is, magazines and other disposable paper media should be illegalized anyway

Re: FUZE4 Nintendo Switch Will Let You Code Your Own Games On Switch From April Next Year

Nemodius

if anyone is very interested in the cold hard source code programming, there are some very in depth FREE tutorials by a page on YouTube called "The New Boston", he has a buttload of awesomely well done tutorials, you purchase some For Dummies books and you can learn the language of your choice in about 2-3 months, less if you study and work hard for at least 2-3 hours per day (for C++ especially), but there are also lots of programming groups in most major cities that are like clubs you can join and hang and learn from, check your local college and ask programming and electronics students, they usually know where these groups are, lots of them are game makers also

Re: Mario + Rabbids Nominated For Best Game At BAFTA Children's Awards

Nemodius

as tactics games go, it was a cute, but frustrating game at times, it was fun, but unlike a lot of other tactics games I've had through the decades, it just does not have the replay value I expected, it extends the game after you beat it and you can try to continue to try for 100% completion, but actual "replay" is almost non-existent for me

Re: Review: LEGO DC Super-Villains - Proof That It's Good To Be Bad

Nemodius

a little bit of semi-on/off subject trivia

most people know Luke Skywalker's Mark Hammil has voice acted the Joker for a VERY long time, like 1992, in Batman: The Animated Series (Hammil also voiced Robin a few times too), later the Justice League shows and animated movies, but more recently he was a guest on the WB's "The Flash" as "The Trixter", a very Joker-like character also, but wait, he also did the voice of "The Trixter" in an episode of Justice League Unlimited But wait, there's more....

remember I mentioned the WB's "The Flash" ???
that is NOT the first time Flash was a live action show.....
you know Barry Allen's dad, accused of killing mom and being imprisoned for like 15 years ??? the actor who plays dad is Barry Allen in the 1990 live version of "The Flash", oh and guess who played "The Trixter" ???
That's right, Mark Hammil !!!
whoa, that's some heavy Shnizzit man, so yah, Mark Hammil is almost synonymous with DC !!!

Re: Review: LEGO DC Super-Villains - Proof That It's Good To Be Bad

@JayJ
Lego games aren't really kid's games so much as lighthearted, no pressure fun games, a lot of the (Lego) titles like LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Marvel & DC related titles, ect. have a lot of adult appeal in gameplay, they are games you can just F**k off with, see how silly you can be, ect.

I like that they brought much of the voice cast from the 2005 Justice League shows and some from the more recent WB show Arrow (the Elon Musk looking guy playing Malcolm Merlyn - John Barrowman)
and some others, I was waiting for a good Lego title to present and bam, I will be getting this, me and my wife will probably be all over it big time

Re: Soapbox: I'm Causing The Slow Death Of Gaming Magazines, And It Hurts

Nemodius

the only people that have been killing off the gaming magazines are the PUBLISHERS of said gaming magazines, and for a very long time

gaming mags are 90% advertisements, I remember back in the day, yes, there was adds, but they usually consisted of about 30%, the rest was walkthroughs, secrets, informative articles, ect, the magazine's were thick with all this stuff too, you could roll one up and really hurt somebody with them, these wussy "Add-Gazines" are a waste of the trees they are made from, even the few informative pieces that are in there are short and incomplete, making you have more questions than when you read them, try to roll one up and the only thing it's good for is snorting cocaine

Re: Nintendo Shares Gorgeous Concept Art For Kirby Star Allies On Switch

Nemodius

@DockEllisD
I liked the game, but at first I didn't even realize I actually beat the main story, I thought it was just something like Bowser does, he'll hop in for a quick fight from time to time, have his shell handed to him, then onto another level, but no, I was like ???, then it opened up two extra worlds after all was said and done and at first I was, "ok, I was worried for a minute", but again, I stomped through them like I was on some boss rush thing, but not on purpose, then was hoping there was a third extra world......nope, just have a nice day, you got screwed, ha ha.

I like the game, but it should be sold for no more than $30, at least Nintendo chose a respectable price for Captain Toad ($40), great game, but is it a $50 or $60 game, no, so I respect they kept the price realistic for the type of game and the amount of game content, I wish all companies would price their games according to its actual worth (up to a maximum of course) Skyrim is a great example of well worth the $66, but Kirby was very way too much over priced @ $66 (after tax)

Re: NBA 2K19 - Effortlessly The Best Basketball Sim On Nintendo Switch

Nemodius

it's not a good comparison say this is the best basketball game on the Switch

since its ONLY competitor is the cartoony NBA 2K Playground

historically, NBA 2K** games end up being at the low end of value, even at flea markets and GameStops, the trade value always ends up less than $8 and resell price is usually no more than $15, so yah, just because saying they are the best, does not make them the best if there is no others

Re: Pre-Orders Now Open For These Officially Licensed Wireless GameCube Controllers For Switch

Nemodius

is it battery operated or rechargeable battery, what kind of connector if it's recharge, USB-B (micro USB) or USB-C ???
some info about the controller would be nice, a type C would be better because you can get a type C splitter and just use the charger for the Switch to charge the Switch and the controller at same time

@NEStalgia
I find that the NGC controller was extremely comfortable, more so than my pro, plus the buttons are easier to get to also, but that's just personal opinion

Re: Famitsu Teasing "Possible Revival" For A Cancelled Level-5 Game

Nemodius

@justin233
I totally agree and it proves my point exactly, the posters here actually do the hard work trying to find info that is missing from these crap type articles and that's patheting, but also the reason I keep coming back to shnizzit articles, because the posters will do the actual work and fill in all the missing and messed up work of the actual reporter

Re: Famitsu Teasing "Possible Revival" For A Cancelled Level-5 Game

Nemodius

@KIRO
I tried to start a tutorial vid page on my YouTube for physics and quantum physics, but the cameras at the school were such crap, I looked like shnizzit and it was boring as frack and couldn't find an editor to work on the vids with me, so I decided not to do it yet, because it just didn't look professional and I refuse to not do it until I can do it RIGHT

Re: Famitsu Teasing "Possible Revival" For A Cancelled Level-5 Game

Nemodius

@Supadav03
I know, that's what I was trying to say earlier, but my problem is with so many of the articles written are like this one, misleading, incomplete, pointless or a combination of two or more, either there is no news and they are trying to make up worthless reading or they are scrounging around to print anything so they can stay involved with NL

out of fairness, I'm NOT talking about ALL of the reporters here, there are two that are most consistent with the tripe, but I won't mention names, you can figure out for yourselves

I'm just saying, either put some work into your work or don't post it at all

I mean really, it seems like they got what little info they did from other public sources and just reworded and/or scrounged on Google for a tidbit, but then didn't bother to actually try and find out more.

the article about the stand that has a little extra space so you can plug in your Switch in, hey how about a little extra, are there any others that compare to this product ??? how about for a few bucks more, some of the really cool battery packs that are also stands

it was more an advertisement than an informative article, and I see far too many of these every day

they call themselves "reporters", but no real news site or paper would hire people who try and publish such incomplete crap, if NL told me to write about this article, I'd recommend not trying to do it or tell them either to pass it to another person, I would not embarrass myself like this

Re: Famitsu Teasing "Possible Revival" For A Cancelled Level-5 Game

Nemodius

@Djgoa
Never got around to playing Professor Layton games, what type of gameplay are they ???
from the boxes and some of other people's descriptions, I could just not understand why it seemed to be so almost virally popular

(this is not sarcasm or facetious statement, it's is an actual inquiry for my own personal edification and curiosity)

Re: Capcom's Update For Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Arrives Next Week

Nemodius

@ReaderRagfish
I made a home made D pad for my Switch, I took apart an old NES controller, a little razor to trim some plastic off and some of the sticky stuff from a glue rat trap to hold it on the buttons and it rocks

and it cost me.......not $15, not $10, not even $5 dollars, I got the controller from a yard sale and the glue trap from a $1 only store (not like the other "dollar stores", they really are only $1

and bam, my special controller
now if I could only find a way way to permanently seal the stick from getting all that dust and debris X(

Re: Famitsu Teasing "Possible Revival" For A Cancelled Level-5 Game

Nemodius

@locky-mavo
How am I supposed to know if the article is a wasteful tripe if I don't give it a chance and try to read it ???
the title gave me hope to see what game they were going to put out. but bam, got here and got nothing.

a paradoxial circle it may be, but I refuse to just do like some people and trash something I don't experience personally

Re: Capcom's Update For Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Arrives Next Week

Nemodius

Never was really fond of the Street Fighter games outside of the arcade (back when they HAD arcades), but I did recognise they tried making some hot female characters, but they never should have changed Cammy, Cammo bathing suit Cammy 12 out of 10, Flight Attendant bathing suit Cammy...2 out of 10, im sorry, but it was just the dumbest thing they decided to do, these are WARRIORS and she just looks STUPID

Re: Famitsu Teasing "Possible Revival" For A Cancelled Level-5 Game

Nemodius

ok, yet ANOTHER weak, waste my time article...
let me say what was really said without the worthless fillers...

Level 5 is 20 years old, they cancelled a game, they may or may not bring it back, they won't hint at a title or even the genre, just that they MIGHT make a game !!!

WTH Man ???
waste of a whole page and two minutes of my time, even with all the cheap Styrofoam filler, couldn't even come up with more than a few sentences, damn, put some work into your work, not just keep posting reworded bits of wastefull info you find on Google.

Give me a job as reporter, I'll make some REAL worthwhile articles, I'm not one of those who b***h and whine but not willing to get into it myself, give me a job and I'll put out. shame some of the writers here big

Re: Guide: How To Have Yourself A Roaring Super Mario Party

Nemodius

you know, kind of pissed me off when Nintendo made the game non-handheld mode, I thought it was dumb as hell, and excludes a decent number of players who don't really have the ability to jump around and put the thing 5' to 10'+ away, or hook up to their tv, like my daughter in college, but after thinking about it, seeing that 3rd party wacky looking headset trying to make the Switch into a virtual device, that Party might be perfect for such a thing, you could still keep your personal space, but fart around while moving the controls around possibly

the only real problem I discovered with the virtual headset is the brightness, the sensor that detects the light level in the room would turn the light level to maximum and blind your ass eventually, most people will probably try to say "you can manually adjust it in settings, well who the hell wants to keep going into settings every time they change games or take it off the headset to play ???

I would love to see a virtual headset, especially for FPS & 3rd person RPG's like Skyrim or Xenoblade, I just REALLY hope they find a way to fix that little thing

Re: Zombie Outfit Brings The Spooky Season To Super Mario Odyssey

Nemodius

@OorWullie
I'm good bro, I just hate it when people (myself included) start making assumptions about people's motives on certain things

like when I started taking C++ classes out of nowhere, I work in physics, I make my $$$ and have enough to do, but people made assumptions I was going to start trying to hack stuff, when in fact, it was all about my love for the droids in Star Wars, I want to make a fully functional (with fully functional A.I. like in the movie) of BB-9e (the black version of BB-8), I've seen people do remote versions successfully, I just wanted to take it to the next level and have it hang out with me at U.S.A. while I'm working, LOL

But again, all good bro, take it easy and take it easy on others too

Re: Soapbox: Huawei's Not The First Company To Vie For Nintendo's Portable Crown, And It Won't Be The Last

Nemodius

@maruse
just because they got attention for it by comparing it to the Switch, does not mean it was brilliant, believe it or not, not "any kind of press is good press", they offer a screen resolution that is becoming more and more common among newer cellphones now, so BFD, it's screen size is ridiculously too large for a phone, but has also become more common now a days, again BFD, better battery ??? is it really ??? the phrase "up to" has ALWAYS been a misleading (but effective) phrase in marketing, and if trying to play REAL games that are heavy on processing resources, the battery life will probably be comparable to the Switch battery life....BFD, then the hand control.....

a single side, sold separately accessory that even some other phones have available, hell, it's not even a remote controller and as far as been said, there is no TV out ?!?!

so what are they REALLY bringing to the table with this "Switch competitor ???

oh yah, a $1,000 price tag, the cost of 1 Switch and 9 $60 games
so again, it's a regular, over priced cellphone, with a sold separately accessory and none of the benefits or abilities of the Switch, how does this compare at all, it's not a gaming system, there's nothing to distinguish it from most high dollar modern cellphones, it's a clone

no one is going to fall for it, even a small little survey was done here, everybody thought it was dumb, the marketing idea was dumb and no one was going to fall for it....

so I ask, "how is this a genius marketing strategy" ???

Re: Soapbox: Huawei's Not The First Company To Vie For Nintendo's Portable Crown, And It Won't Be The Last

Nemodius

didn't do your homework again !!!
NOT including the 3rd party portables that use the regular cartridges from the console systems, there was in fact an official, 1st party portable Turbo Grafix 16, it also took the console's original credit card sized cartridges, called "Hu-Card", it was about twice the size of the original Game Boy, but it had full color, back-lit screen, high res (for the time) 16 bit graphics, but also had a small add-on accessory that turned it into a portable TV, it ate batteries like cray, cray, but it was awesome !!! and held its own against Nintendo's portables for some time

Re: Weirdness: This Game Boy Macro Is Crafted From The Remains Of A Nintendo DS Lite

Nemodius

I have seen mods like this and it's SOOOO F*ing stupid, I mean WHY ??? between the various "official" GBA's, there's no point, but these types are worse for four reasons....
1: they take the ability to play the DS games
2: it's more pleasant to play with the game on the top screen
3: you can't play GB/GBC (as well as DS) games
4: the clamshells of the SP & Lite protect the screens and buttons
5: I can buy a excellent condition GBA SP for $10-$15 & a NDS Lite for $25+/-, but others like this charge at least $40

so you get far less but are expected to pay far more, so yah, again Why ???

Re: Random: Hollywood Legend John Carpenter Doesn't Think Much Of Nintendo Labo

Nemodius

@FarkyValentine The "concept" was cool, you create these constructs and expand the Switch's capabilities for gameplay big time....
but it was implemented REALLY poorly, it's not so much the constructs themselves, it's what they had you doing with them, the games suck ass and for the crap games/apps combined with the over priced costs, yah, they end up as the next gen uber failure Virtual Boy

Favorite John Carpenter movie quote: "I Have Come Here To Chew Bubble Gum And Kick Ass...And I'm All Out Of Bubble Gum !!!"
