@nessisonett How is this a PR nightmare? People don't like that an amiibo does something. That isn't really anything new. A PR nightmare would be if the figure was done with lead paint.

There's always two results with a new amiibo: people complain it DOESN'T do anything, or people complain it DOES do something. No one is ever satisfied. I collect them just for the fun of it, but I can also understand why people don't like that something is locked behind it. On the other hand, though, people complained when things weren't accessed with them when amiibo was a new concept. There are extremely cheap alternatives if you don't want to buy the figure. "But I shouldn't have to buy anything!" Yeah, you're 100% right, but if you can make the multi-million dollar corporation care what you think, that would be pretty cool.

This sounds like the excuse Alvin & The Chipmunks 2 used to write Dave out, with him being "in the hospital." The humans are "going on vacation" and we'll see them for a whole 5 minutes, tops.

@mctrials23 DK64 was fine, save for the massive amount of collecting and needing to switch characters way too often. There's a patch for the game that lets you switch Kongs at any time and it improves the game tenfold.

@1031Gamer They usually do that when something big releases. They probably didn't with New Pokemon Snap because TPCi is supposedly extremely protective of anyone doing anything with Pokemon (which is why the Smash Pokemon amiibo in Mario Maker 1 only had generic SMB noises.)

Detective Pikachu is my favorite movie, and while I'd love to see a sequel, there's no way it could make sense. If Tim's dad was 'turned into' Pikachu again, Tim would notice right off the bat. There'd have to be some stupid amnesia plot or something to make it work.

They'll bother MASSIVELY updating when sales drop or Switch Online subscriptions drop. Neither is going to happen anytime soon. There's no reason to put more manpower/effort/money into something that sells itself by word of mouth and Tweets.

You think you want it localized, but you don't. It'll be censored like crazy, have memes shoved into it, have dialogue removed because it's "problematic," and won't be the same game you played using the fan translation. You're better off playing the fan patch and getting a flash cart if you want to play it on physical hardware THAT badly.

It probably means that since DK has had realistic fur in some of his renders for a while, it was probably time to update Diddy's fur as well. Nothing more.

@Heavyarms55 That's how Hallmark does things. They start releasing one wave of ornaments in the fall and another in the winter. Summertime is usually when they show off what's coming via a magazine and their website.

I'm on my 3rd one now, technically. Traded in launch day for the red box/'better battery' one when it came out, then the 'better' one in for Mario Red (which came out of the box with an issue and needed an exchange, so that's something.) If they release a Pro this soon after the Mario Red coming out, it's gonna be annoying.

If they're not going to give us physical soundtracks, I wish they'd at least put them on iTunes or something.

I wonder if Banjo's grenade eggs will count in this.
