Unboxed because when it comes to collecting stuff I have very few items to have for the sake of preserving mint. Not to say I don't put plastic shields on my cartridges and stuff but the point is: use the stuff!
So many 10/10s on the SNES. I like the virtual console because it gives me some rewind options for games I'm not familiar with but want to experience still
Probably not going to purchase it at launch because of the price and the easy accessibility to every Genesis game under the sun currently. I absolutely love the way this looks, so if it shows up on Marketplace in a few years I'll definitely consider it.
The tiny console thing doesn't really grab me with how much I already enjoy NSO and the Steam Genesis Collection. Also having the original console makes it a moot point
Jet Force Gemini Mischief Makers Chameleon Twist Banjo Tooie Mario Party 2 Pokemon Stadium 2 Rocket: Robot on Wheels Diddy Kong Racing Sarge's Heroes Space Station Silicon Valley
There are so many phenomenal titles for the system. Hoping that they'll continue to support releases over the next year or two.
I would rather see a few consistent big directs a year with skits than things like Indie Direct, which is just a montage of trailers. I feel it would build a sense of community with the current CEO if they got back to that personable biannual 'check in' with Nintendo.
I wouldn't mind if it focuses on older games. A new 3D Mario would be killer though. I feel like it has been a long time since a New Super Mario game and the Switch has yet to have one exclusive.
A new Kirby collection for the anniversary works be cool.
I also wouldn't mind the Wii U Zelda remasters on Switch.
Hoping now that they've put the most popular N64 titles out they start moving to the stranger ones like they did with the NES and SNES. For example - Chameleon Twist, Mischief Makers, Glover, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, etc.
I have hear of all three of these games but I've never played any of them! I feel like I might have received Hollow Knight for free at some point on Epic Games. Time to try it!
Working on Animal Crossing and hoping to check out what's been added to the N64 Online since I was last on. I heard something about Pokemon Snap and Kirby 64. I'm glad to hear about Kirby 64 because my cartridge is in Japanese so I've been playing blind.
I also picked up the Shovel Knight Treasure Trove earlier this week on 3DS. $9.50 is a steal. Anyone have any tips for playing Shovel Knight? I watched Game Grumps play it ages ago so I'm going in with little knowledge retained!
It's Victoria Day weekend so hopefully tomorrow I'll have one more day of gaming fun before going back to work!
I upgraded and cancelled my Xbox subscription. There's more on NSO +Expansion I want than on any other game subscription. Definitely more worth it as a family pack deal with friends. There's some games to still be added to make the N64 expansion completely worth it. I haven't really wanted to use the Genesis expansion as I already had the cartridge collection.
Nothing for me this week! I've been holding out for 3DS downloadable titles with each sale. Even upgraded my SD card this week in order to house all these new games. There's some killer deals on their right now.
I'm glad RF5 is doing well. I remember only a few years ago we were unsure if we would ever see another RF title. I'm waiting for a sale to pick this one up.
The Switch is basically the ultimate portable single player experience. There's so much that's made it over from the PC and legacy ports. I think with NSO and the major titles I have enough gameplay to last a lifetime now.
It doesn't matter too much for me because I have the original hardware and the Genesis Collection on PC and Switch. I think the Genesis Collection on PC is very worth it as most machines can run it and it contains more games than the switch version. Would have been nice to see some of the Game Gear games get put onto NSO, as I believe they're only available through 3DS Virtual Console right now. (Other than emulation, of course.)
Hoping that Sonic 2 & Knuckles is an option. This might be one of those I wait to go on sale because I already own the games five times over. Cool to see though!
I wouldn't mind to see Harvest Moon GBA, but there's so many better farming sims now I can't say I would actually play it.
Other than Pokemon games, there's not many Gameboy games for NSO that I'm interested in. Maybe Metroid 2, but that's still available on Virtual Console.
@russell-marlow Yeah I suppose emulation is always an option. The games will be preserved regardless that way.
Yeah I own both of them but I've never been able to get into them! Like watching playthroughs of people who grew up with it though. Adventures was just a totally different era of Sonic haha. Yeah, cell shaded would look awesome!
@russell-marlow Haha, yeah Sonic Labrinth isn't terribly good, but Triple Trouble, Blast and Mean Bean Machine are a blast. I'd be curious to see the lifetime sales for the emulations on 3DS. Doesn't bother me either way because I still have the original hardware but for the sake of legacy I always like seeing MS/GG love.
Haha, maybe Mr. Whitehead will get on it one day! I had a hard time with Adventures coming from Genesis and Nintendo platformers. I see why it's loved though.
I'm a big Sega fan and a Sega collector, but this collection is disappointing. I was hoping for something along the lines as a mash of the GameCube Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Gems collection. I think the only way to get the Game Gear games these days is from the 3DS eShop. It's a shame that GG/MS seems to be forgotten at this point. I think GG ports are important because the cost of batteries is getting insane haha.
The gap in Zelda games does not bother me. As a hardcore Elder Scrolls fan delays are my middle name. I would love to see WW/TP, but the Switch also had plenty of Zelda to play with NSO, Cadence of Hyrule, etc. Also BOTW is such a a massive game I doubt I'll even be done with it by the time BOTW2 comes out.
Picked up Monkey Ball and Sonic Generations on 3DS. Was thinking of picking up world too but I have it on PC already. Looking forward to more 3DS sales so I can collect what I can before it shuts down next March.
I'm so excited! Pokemon Snap was one of my dream ones to get on the virtual. I really doubt we will see it but Rocket Robot on Wheels would also be a phenomenal addition.
I actually don't mind this. I find catching a quarter million pokemon every year a bit of a daunting task to be honest. I see why people want the option, but I feel like if there's not some kind of lock to the regional dex I'll never bother to appreciate new designs.
I'm very excited. I hope to get the same giddiness from X and Y when it came to all the innovation. In fact, I can't believe how old those games are now haha. Bringing Pokemon into the 3D world was a great move.
I'm going to brag that I got the last Smash Edition console in the lower mainland and I've never had a problem with drift. Every joycon I've purchased after the fact has had drift. I don't know what it is about the Smash Edition one, but the stick feels different than a normal switch stick and it's never given me trouble. I did end up getting the L Hori Zelda stick about two months ago because it was on sale and I highly recommend it for anyone playing Genesis Collection.
Klonoa, Kirby, Mario Kart and Earthbound were my highlights. I'm not super interested in Strikers or Splatoon, but hopefully their announcement makes way for a new 3D Mario in the future.
The Portal announcement was hilarious. Really didn't see that coming.
Also the Assassin's Creed trilogy looks cool, but it seems the physical version only comes with ACII loaded and the rest are download.
Maybe Arceus, but not day one after I've already purchased Pearl so soon. 2021 had a much better lineup for me with Crash, Sonic, Pokemon and Mario. I think this year will be more about my retro collections. Looking forward to Banjo Kazooie on the online this month!

Catching up on Pokemon Pearl. Did all the gyms and then stopped just before the Pokemon League. Doing some leveling before I tackle the Elite Four!
Re: Video: The Unsolved amiibo Dilemma - Boxed Or Unboxed?

Re: Soapbox: 20 Years Later, Super Mario Sunshine Is Still The Best 3D Mario
It's a pretty good Mario game but I think the random difficulty spike halfway through the game is tough.
One thing I like about Odyssey is that you can really choose the difficulty level based on what moons you challenge yourself to collect.
...but I'm still a Mario 64 for lifer.

Re: Where To Pre-Order SEGA Genesis / Mega Drive Mini 2

I have a list haha
Jet Force Gemini
Mischief Makers
Chameleon Twist
Banjo Tooie
Mario Party 2
Pokemon Stadium 2

Diddy Kong Racing
Sarge's Heroes
Space Station Silicon Valley
There are so many phenomenal titles for the system. Hoping that they'll continue to support releases over the next year or two.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Mind If Nintendo Retired The 'Big' Nintendo Direct Format?
The big Nintendo Directs are fun.
