Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Soundtracks - Where Are They?

I love music and can't go a single day without listening to it, but I can honesty say I would never find myself in a situation where I would want to listen to videogame music.

Driving around in a car on a hot summer day with the Hyrule Overworld theme blasting? No thanks.

"I think its karmic payback for all the Nintendo fans mocking the endless parade of similar FPS games on the other consoles."

Exactly. Third DKC game released since late 2010. Platforming titles like this have a niche audience now, and three similar looking releases (one being an identical re-release) like this don't excite anyone other than the most ardent Nintendo fans.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Pointed to Another Wii U Retail Drought

If thats true, why does Nintendo even bother making new games? Just sell a $300 console that plays only 8 and 16-bit games! It would sell like hotcakes, right?!!

If you polled all Wii-U owners and asked them whether they would rather have a new retail title, or a GBA game, what do you think would be the most popular answer?? New release titles are what get people to buy the system and want to invest their money. VC releases should compliment a steady stream of new software, not be a replacement for it.

"There's also NES Remix 2 in April, as well as Virtual console releases include a few amazing Gameboy Advance games. What I'm saying is that the notion of a drought is a whiney, ridiculous, cry-baby, first-world, entitled whack-job view-point."

You know what else is a whack-job point of view? Believing that people spent $300+ on a new Nintendo console so they could repurchase games that are 12-25 years old.

You are acting like you are one of a handful of people who anticipated this game to be good, when pretty much everyone expected it to be great (whether of not they want to play it or not). You have the same opinion as most people, but then try to pass yours off like you made some bold prediction haha.

I'm with you. The amount of people acting enthusiastic about this "game" on here is mind boggling. It's not only a HORRIBLE idea, but the fact it seems to just "exist" as a parody of EA's Madden is proof it will never see the light of day (never mind the fact the guy doesn't have a Wii-U dev kit).

How did this story get past the editor?? Oh wait....it was posted by the editor...

X winning 'Game of the Year'??

I doubt very much that a niche JRPG that will sell under a million copies will ever receive that accolade. Let alone in 2014...I bet its not releasing this year.

VERY underwhelming Direct. A bunch of eShop junk nobody asked for (THOSE were the Level 5 games!?), nice to get a bit more info on Mario Golf, and then a little bit more info and new trailers for a bunch of games we knew about YEARS ago.

E3 can't come fast enough!

Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms

Why are so many people believing that Ubisoft has invested a ton of time into the Wii-U version? How many times has this happened before (in the Wii-U's short history) where a developer claims the Wii-U version will be the "best" and "definitive" version, only too see that its a crappy port on release? For all anyone knows, Ubisoft could have stopped work on the Wii-U version 4 or 5 months ago,if not longer, meaning that by the time the final game is released around June, that the Wii-U version is 10+ months behind the others?

If UbiSoft cancels the Wii-U version now (they are just using the term "delayed" to be diplomatic) they will save more money than they would earn if they finished work on the game and released it months after the other versions, to awful sales.

Microsoft has a rule that a game must be released on Xbox at the same time as other consoles, or else they won't allow it on their system. If Rayman came out on Wii-U and PS3 first, they couldn't put it on the 360 after that. Nintendo doesn't have such a publishing clause (or the power to enforce one) so UbiSoft doesn't have to worry.

Not that it will be released on the Wii-U anyway.
