Eh, if the Indies can do it then it's fair game to cut prices that harshly. They'll make more money with this discount than they would letting it's rot in the backwoods of the eshop at full price.
I thought it already ended. For 8 years or so it was still awkwardly edited with weird chemistry between the two. It was never a heavy hitter in terms of viewership, especially given the size of the channel, but then again you've got to wonder just how much support it got from Nintendo
Scalpers gonna scalp. The biggest worry is it creates artificial demand and the poor devs might end up with excess stock on an incredibly niche product
I really liked this game despite its problems. There's a lot of missed moments in the Cell and Buu arcs but my word they nailed re Sayian and Frieza arcs immaculately
PS5 really struggling to take off. Yes blah blah supply issues, but you're telling me a new console in the run up to Xmas can't sell 13,000 games in a week?
Edit - 3,500 even. No PS5 games in the top thirty.
>Physics I legit don't think they'll include a functional speed based physics engine. They haven't really had one since 06 (and even then it was wonky). The subsequent games have heavy scripting for the set pieces (ie, in Generations/Lost World/Forces) which "turned on" the appropriate physics for any given obstacle needing overcame.
@Jeff2sayshi I think it says a lot when there's a lot on the second hand market and the game sales aren't exactly spectacular (or they're downplaying the sales?). It's all very strange, but it's definitely more readily available via second hand market than, say, the Wii was. That thing was like goldust.
@JasmineDragon I'm really not sure. I could go and buy a PS5 tomorrow, there's like 5 in my local CEX for £600-650. I think the issue is the scalpers have created a weird almost artificial demand.
@LinkSword yeah I'd agree with this. Every year Geoff has to swindle people in to watching by promising a huge announcement, and every year people get hyped, and subsequently end up disappointed
The whole thing sounds kind of cringe, especially going by the last few years. Wonder how Kojima is going to worm his way in this time?
Honestly Geoff should just cut the losses and turn it in to a series of presentations like E3. There's little prestige in the awards, and Geoff himself has pivoted heavily towards hyping announcements to draw in viewers.
I unironically hold IGNs GOTY award in higher regard than this schlock.
@Bolt_Strike I've always thought the Sonic franchise would do well taking inspiration from driving sims tbh, even just the level scale and gameplay style. Throw in some bullet hell inspired skill based dodging and you'd surely end up with something that at least captures the essence of the marketing
I've all but lost faith in the franchise tbh, Mania was a nice diamond in the rough but everything else I've seen/played from the Sonic franchise since 2004 has been kinda crap
I sunk a good 60 hrs in to this at the start of COVID. Then work started kicking my ass when a bunch of staff left/shielded and I had to drop it, haven't played it much. I'd probably have to start a new game to get back in to it, forgotten most of the systems. Incredibly immersive game, all things considered.
@Dimitris670 Genuinely happy to hear that, I haven't looked in to it since 2010 or so. It's a shame they blackball entire countries but honestly it's a sign of real progress for human rights.
@somebread Yep, you've described what the interview process is for a job. I would be surprised if Nintendo leaves hiring and firing on one person's to do list, but open debate among interviewers is particularly common (at least in my company, which takes its hiring/interview process from a UK wide standard practice policy)
@somebread In all honesty they more than likely ARE the best choice for the job given the circumstances of employment, which obvious brings in to the conversation the diversity hire practices. I'm all for this as long as it's transparent and people know what they're getting in to by applying. The real problems, in my humble opinion, are the companies that have no such policy but favour certain groups/sexes over the other. That kind of stuff needs to stop.
@CharlieGirl They can be, it's the literal point of the phrase "hire the best person for the job". The fact that you're questioning this phrase brings in to question your own stance on equality, seemingly with a hatred for certain groups. In fact, by your comment it sounds like any time a white person is given a position you're assuming it was because of their skin colour, with no reference to their qualifications. Why is that?

@Arawn93 Over ten years to release a 2012 game? Hmmm.
Re: Digital Foundry Gives Its Assessment Of Shin Megami Tensei V
Amazing game, really enjoying it. Who's the new guy doing the DF vids? He sounds like a charisma vacuum.

At least they're trying to fix it. I don't think it'll get a 60fps patch though so it'll always be meh for me

SMTV hanging in there with the big boys! Interested to see how it sells digitally. At the moment it's still 100k behind SMTIV's physical sales

Will they stop using controversial parts factories and mining practices? Human rights being broken left and right.
Edit- Nintendo doesn't use conflict minerals anymore. Progress!
