@Octane_st1m I dunno how it works in the US but certainly in the UK there's a big difference between sexual harassment and sexual offense, it seems like in the US the terms are used interchangeably in the public forum (which is mental). I would have liked to see it progress as it means Activision Blizzard (and I suppose the people filing the complaint) would need to go on record, ie, fun situations like "We have a harassment policy and everyone abides by it", being met with such fun rebuttals as "Okay, provide evidence it 1. Works from a fundamental point of view 2. Those who break it are held accountable and 3. Everyone who is named in the suit abided by it". This would have seen some real change. But nah, gotta get that money, I suppose.
The only WiiU port I want is Xenoblade X. More Zelda ports isn't something I see as worthwhile, I'd rather there's a bit of a gap between releases so they're more likely to get remakes rather than lazy ports.
@Octane_st1m I don't think jail time was possible for this, it's not a criminal charge (to my knowledge, unless it's different in America from the UK). It was always going to end in money being paid out from either party. Saying that, like I said above, I was kind of hoping they'd fight it instead of just throwing money at it as anything said in a court of law would go on public record, and everyone would have to be held accountable for what is said. Could have seen some proper change if they didn't settle and instead went ahead.
The tweet has less than 1,000 reposts, less than 200 comments, and less than 5000 likes. Is that normal for a Twitter account with 12,000,000 followers? Very weird ratio. I dunno Twitter though, seems like a cesspool of nonsense.
I'm genuinely surprised Nintendo are offering as much as they are with the Online stuff. Still have no intention of getting it unless it's improved, of course, but Nintendo being a few years behind a new concept (game subscriptions) instead of a decade behind is quite a surprise.
I burned out hard on FPS games from 2006 or so all the way until Doom 2016, I don't think old CoD will grip me. I prefer the boomer shooter kind of thing now, like Ion Fury, Dusk, etc. Even Doom Eternal was kind of just boomer shooter-y enough to be interesting. I bought Wolf 2 on Switch as a curio and was utterly bored after 4 levels.
@nessisonett I don't remember it being like that tbh but it's definitely not like that now and a simple Google search or troll through Reddit with show a whole bunch of people banned for abusive behaviour.
Also it's hilarious to me that the developer/publisher or whatever had to go on Twitter to make "...no, really, it's coming tp Switch!" post lol. Until yesterday I assumed it was a PS5 exclusive, but I'm assuming all the marketing is being funded by Sony
@LEGEND_MARIOID There's an Xbone version, so I'm willing to bet the Switch will be a graphically reduced version of that, probably running at a dynamic 720p with load times that would make FFXV on PS4 jealous. Looking over the trailer again I'm reasonably confident it'll be able to run natively on Switch if that's the best they can do on a PS5.
If it runs okay I'll pick this up tbh. I don't have the patience for big open world collectathon games on my Series S, prefer to chug away at them in handheld mode on Switch
It's weird, I'm not really aware of this game but the marketing I've seen so far seemed to suggest it was a PS5 exclusive...legit surprised to see it's coming to Xbox and PC, also Switch I suppose but I imagine it'll be crippled
The founders also allegedly used an "open and honest" workplace structure to openly criticise the work of employees, and would very rarely praise work. Lol this is my boss
@Franklin Oh that's not the post I was replying to lol. Yeah, I stand by that. Is there anything inherently harmful in this? It doesn't look like it, to be honest. I don't think going to extremes is helping your argument tbh
@Franklin I outlined it in my first response to you - you're using a slippery slope fallacy as an argumentative point, something that has never applied to video games and rarely to media. What else do you want me to say? You've gone off on a strange tangent that has nothing to do with smutty video games.
@PtM Call it what you want, but at the heart of the issue you'll need to accept that games are for everyone and just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean it should go away.
@Franklin The slippery slope fallacy is one that's plagued games for years. There's been no link between violence and video games, nor paedophilia and video games. If it makes you feel better, they're all 21+
@CharlieGirl All gamers? Nah, just a niche. These games are cheaply made and sell well enough to that niche to become successful. You probably knew that though, but I guess we're all guilty of hyperbolic statements
Widescreen looks incredible, but high resolution textures on N64 geometry always looks so "off". I think it's the lack of ground clutter and too many straight edges.
I can't imagine getting this mad about games. Nintendo have always had this mentality that games should be fun pastimes. The Smash community, even among FGC, has a hell of a reputation for being difficult (and smelly), I can see why they'd want to create some space between publisher and community.
@BloodNinja I remember my most played GC games being Metroid Prime, Tony Hawk 4, and a bonus disc I got from a magazine with 4 Zelda games on it. I had so many short and what I felt were lackluster games that I gravitated to the PS2
I've got tinnitus in my left ear and stereo sound can trigger it to be more noticeable. An integral mono mix for the audio would be great (using a hardwired mono mix usually causes the dialogue to be overly loud and instruments disappearing due to phase)
Eh, doesn't really work for me. There's very little of Robotnick's characteristics there besides the jacket and red hair. Kind of hard to do a good gender swap on a guy who's main characteristics are giant mustache and goggles
Oooof lets see. My launch day switch has had (in chronological order)
Left joycon drift (around mid 2017, fixed by warranty) Right joycon rail releasing the clip (around early 2018, fixed by warranty) Right rail becoming loose causing the joycon to disconnect randomly (around mid 2018, Nintendo didn't fix as they said it was a wear and tear issue) Right joycon drift (early 2019, Nintendo didn't fix as was out of warranty apparently) Random software error in late 2019 that required a reboot that cleared all my stuff, had a bit of trouble linking my Nintendo account to the Switch again Left rail becoming loose in early 2021 causing the joycon to randomly disconnect, solved with tape.
Bought a Switch OLED and subsequently hacked my original Switch for overclocking purposes.
