Re: Activision Blizzard Reaches $18 Million Settlement For Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

@Octane_st1m I dunno how it works in the US but certainly in the UK there's a big difference between sexual harassment and sexual offense, it seems like in the US the terms are used interchangeably in the public forum (which is mental). I would have liked to see it progress as it means Activision Blizzard (and I suppose the people filing the complaint) would need to go on record, ie, fun situations like "We have a harassment policy and everyone abides by it", being met with such fun rebuttals as "Okay, provide evidence it 1. Works from a fundamental point of view 2. Those who break it are held accountable and 3. Everyone who is named in the suit abided by it". This would have seen some real change. But nah, gotta get that money, I suppose.

@Octane_st1m I don't think jail time was possible for this, it's not a criminal charge (to my knowledge, unless it's different in America from the UK). It was always going to end in money being paid out from either party. Saying that, like I said above, I was kind of hoping they'd fight it instead of just throwing money at it as anything said in a court of law would go on public record, and everyone would have to be held accountable for what is said. Could have seen some proper change if they didn't settle and instead went ahead.

Re: Video: Switch Online Could Learn A Lot From Xbox Game Pass

I'm genuinely surprised Nintendo are offering as much as they are with the Online stuff. Still have no intention of getting it unless it's improved, of course, but Nintendo being a few years behind a new concept (game subscriptions) instead of a decade behind is quite a surprise.

@LEGEND_MARIOID There's an Xbone version, so I'm willing to bet the Switch will be a graphically reduced version of that, probably running at a dynamic 720p with load times that would make FFXV on PS4 jealous. Looking over the trailer again I'm reasonably confident it'll be able to run natively on Switch if that's the best they can do on a PS5.

Re: Talking Point: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

Oooof lets see. My launch day switch has had (in chronological order)

Left joycon drift (around mid 2017, fixed by warranty)
Right joycon rail releasing the clip (around early 2018, fixed by warranty)
Right rail becoming loose causing the joycon to disconnect randomly (around mid 2018, Nintendo didn't fix as they said it was a wear and tear issue)
Right joycon drift (early 2019, Nintendo didn't fix as was out of warranty apparently)
Random software error in late 2019 that required a reboot that cleared all my stuff, had a bit of trouble linking my Nintendo account to the Switch again
Left rail becoming loose in early 2021 causing the joycon to randomly disconnect, solved with tape.

Bought a Switch OLED and subsequently hacked my original Switch for overclocking purposes.
