Re: Datamine Uncovers References To PS4 And PC In Switch Exclusive Shin Megami Tensei V

The most obvious answer is that the engine was probably built for PS4/Switch/PC and this is remnant code. It started development around 2017 and entered full production in 2018, around the time Atlus were making Catherine Full Body and Persona 5 Royal.

Saying that, who knows. Atlus are strange since being bought by Sega, they very rarely released multiplats (seriously there's barely any) but all of a sudden everything's going ro other platforms in some way shape or form.

Edit - Actually I think about it, there's a bunch of demon models/textures in SMTV taken from Persona 5. The code is likely more intertwined than we think.

@Mjoen My biggest disappointment with the games is the character models and the lack of additional camera control options, particularly when driving. In a game where they patched in a different aiming system and a GTAV style weapon wheel I'm surprised that the camera system for the driving (ie the way it doesn't seem to catch up to you quick enough when turning corners) remains the exact same as my PC copy. Generally the art style and visuals is appealing imo, which is why I really only commented on the overtly bright screenshots that partnered the review.

I've been playing off and on since it unlocked yesterday. 2 hrs on GTA3, 4 on VC and around 8 on SA (It's my favourite game)

Just made an account to comment lol

"We had to pause and turn the brightness level to max then reduce the contrast to zero just to make the picture look acceptable first of all.."
I'm playing it right now on stock settings and it doesn't look nearly as bad as your screenshots? What on earth is going on here? It's like you wanted it to look worse. Every YouTube review doesn't have the brightness exaggerated like these screenshots.

"The resolution is well below 720p, it's been smeared with some sort of after effect that makes things even worse, the default picture settings are awful and the stuttering and jankiness is plain to see"
Again, it looks reasonable sharp on my TV (and in every YouTube review so far), definitely not "well below 720p".

It's a disappointing product for sure, and they're probably due some heavy patching, but these parts of the review didn't sync with my own experience or seemingly with any other reviewer.

And you played all 3 enough to write a review since yesterday? Huh.
