After much dithering and on finding a sweet price at Base I've pre-ordered physical Mortal Kombat 11 on Switch. I reckon the Switch version will go down as a masterpiece of pushing the Switch to its limits. I'm sure this will be achieved partly by having dusty/foggy backgrounds like in Trials Rising but that doesn't bother me. I don't play fighting games to stare at the background! If the fighting mech is great and looks amazing and the sound and soundtrack is fantastic I'm sold.
I adore controllers and collect nice ones. They are a joy to look at and use. The*right controller* for the right game can make a huge difference to accuracy and enjoyment.
The article missed out the beautiful and comfortable NES controller Joycons sold to Switch Online subscribers. Please add them @NintendoLife!
I understand microts from small companies it's the only way they can compete with big companies in the low cost upfront mobile gaming market.
I've spent what I consider a lot on Nintendo games on Switch. Internet plus eShop make that incredibly easy to do. Which shows that spending lots this way is possible!
My concern is really for protecting kids and helping compulsive gamblers get help. I don't think this initiative, good as it is, does enough for either of those. But it will really take an industry-wide coalition to impact on that for example by jointly running adverts to educational sites that offer advice and personal stories.
I adore OUTRUN. If you enjoy racing games it's a must. It's easy to play but contains more depth and challenge than it looks. Well worth the 💶💷💸 cost of entry.
Surprised @NintendoLife haven't reviewed this game. On Metacritic both critics and users rated this as an absolutely essential for party gamers on Switch. With the right friends round for its silly zaniness this could be the most fun you have on Switch. Its new Transformidable free update and its current 30% off on eShop makes this game an easy big recommend for party gamers.
I'm an Xbox 1S gamer and I was ~planning~ to get an Xbox 1X or possibly even a PS4 Pro. But a PS4 owning multiple VR device owning and lifelong Nintendo fan FB friend persuaded me to get a Switch. And on 16 November last year I got a Let's Go Switch bundle direct from Nintendo UK (because sweet 2yr guarantee at Nintendo) with the launch (sneaky I know!) of Let's Go P/E. If you don't have a Switch and you like a special edition I recommend getting a special edition console whenever you can because it's a heart warming thing and it makes remembering the exact date you got it easy haha! It's been only 3.5 months I've had it? It feels like 2 years haha! Definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. So glad I didn't go for 1X/PS4 because the Switch is such a sociable console even if you have noone to play with - you can fairly easily go sit around people while you play! And that is a WONDERFUL wonderful experience!
Switch is really life enhancing in ways no other console is.
Happy Second Birthday Nintendo Switch! Many happy returns!
What concerns me is the average age of 39. That's too high. A games company should skew younger so that it is in touch with new trends and what young people want.
In general Nintendo's stats show they want people they hire to stay a long time and they value loyalty. And that's fine. But they need to hire some younger people to keep their games fresh and trending.
Since people mention Xbox.. Over on Xbox I'll play me some TT Isle of Man and Forza Horizon 4. Best console bar none for realistic style racing games that are fun.
Still got to progress on Shadow of the Tomb Raider and to start We Happy Few on the incredible wonderful Game Pass service, the best service bar none in gaming.
Oh yes I'll also warm up for workouts by playing rallies on Mario Tennis Aces. Gets me in the mood for exercise and warms up my body. Then, My Body Is Ready.
That's pretty sweet box art. I wish them massive success. I imagine every developer in the world would have a physical at launch if they could. Physicals are wonderful objects of pride and joy, particularly special editions. Can we all tweet ask the developer for a special edition that will extra appeal to those of us who bought the digital? Could have a poster, model car amiibo, steel book, stickers, photos of notes and inspirations for the game, and a quirky inspiring thank you note from the developers.
I don't think small developers can necessarily promise physical releases at launch because their budgets don't allow it. Only when their game sells well enough do they earn enough to justify physical editions. @joey302
As a newbie to Travis this game is an easy 10/10 for me. I love it. It's so retro. There's nothing else like it on Switch. It's a very underated game. Newbies with a taste for retro should definitely get it!
I've loved playing Banner Trilogy on Switch on cold winter days. I adore the Norse atmosphere for that type of weather. I'll pick Fimbul up when it's on a juicy sale. Hopefully it's beautifully patched by then and I'll get my money's worth of enjoyment.
Article should be updated to include the backs of some of about a third of the items because some have good back designs. The Mario white t-shirt looks particularly good because it has Mario from behind and knocking and so it's as if Mario is poking his head through your body!
They're way overpriced though for my wallet's taste. More than double the price they should be. I'll wait for a sale and for reviews to check quality.
@able_to_think I have an Xbox 1S and I never noticed any hangs or button press problems. Booting and muting never bothered me, both are fast esp the latter as my soundbar has a remote. I like the videos and submenus giving a rich experience. Wasn't bothered by needing Blu-ray player app. The two things that that bother me are the adverts can be misleading because they're not tailored to account for things a user has already trialled, and that I don't have a 1X/4KTV haha!
Sure Switch boots faster but it boots faster than anything. That's part of the Switch portable design USP. I love both systems. Game Pass has this year become the biggest reason for owning an Xbox, it's amazing how the service offering has been improved. I still play my Switch more often though haha simply because it's portable and sociable!
@able_to_think You're writing satire right? The Xbox dashboard is brilliantly executed and about a billion times better than the Switch 'dashboard'. I love both consoles and both have strengths but this is one where Xbox is wayyy better.
I couldn't hear the Pokémon Direct video because no subtitles and awful dubbing! As I wear hearing aids that was not a disabled friendly video at all. I really hope Nintendo and Pokémon learn from Microsoft how to be disabled friendly. But at least I learned Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield look almost impossibly cute and come out autumn/winter this year!
The sound effects have improved over the last game. Really impressed with the sound. Johnny's face should look tougher and gritty. Still want to see what its reviews are on Switch before deciding whether to get. Don't understand why Europe release delayed. In the meantime I got a bargain copy of DragonBall FighterZ delivered from Germany so I'm getting to to grips with that.

Re: Review: Sushi Striker: The Way Of Sushido (Switch)
You can get physical for £12- now but I'm passing because I didn't like the demo. Try demo before you buy.
Re: Video: New Mortal Kombat 11 Story Trailer Confirms Three More Fighters
Cassie fatality with a heart sign made me cackle with cracking laughter in surprise! Brilliant! Good to see humour in gaming!
Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Ditch Physical Media With A 'Switch Lite?'
Nintendo should do this to create what's effectively a very souped up Gameboy for kids. And sell it like hot cakes.

@Yorumi I adore Joycons. I find them brilliant for Fitness Boxing and good for Mario Tennis Aces.
Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Switch Controllers
@PharoneTheGnome it's probably just fluff causing the thumbstick to slow just like on a mouse. Clean it up inside and should be good.

Re: Wargroove Gets Huge Version 1.2.0 Patch On Switch Today
Does this patch make the game up a star to now 10/10 in the estimation of @NintendoLife?
I'd like to see the Civilization VI devs patching and DLCing their game with similar enthusiasm. Come on Firaxis!
Re: Tetris 99 Grand Prix Event Hits Europe This Weekend, £10 eShop Credit Up For Grabs

Re: Rumour: Looks Like Xbox Game Pass Might Not Be Coming To Switch After All
I think this will happen on Switch when a pro model Switch comes out with 5G capabilities built into it.
Re: Microsoft Eager To "Bring Game Pass To Any Device" People Want To Play On
To really succeed this is going to require 5G so people can use it on the move.
Re: Microsoft Eager To "Bring Game Pass To Any Device" People Want To Play On
Game Pass is awesome. Just look at the games list it has. Freakin A+.
Re: Gun Gun Pixies Shoots Its Way To Switch This Year
Kudos to Nintendo Life your making clear exactly what kind of game this is so that people can make choices for themselves and for their kids.
Re: Gun Gun Pixies Shoots Its Way To Switch This Year
Personally I find this kind of game disturbing. It's not for me so I won't get it. End of.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 2nd)
Back on Switch I'll return to my addictions of Tetris 99 and Horizon Chase Turbo and inch forward in rankings!
I also enjoy fighting games so I'll have a blast with the cheerful smile inducing Dragonball FighterZ.
Finally, I love both drumming and smiling even more so I'll hit the wonderful and worth it drum controller on Taiko no Tatsujin.

Fitness Boxing on Switch. I'm hooked and I'm fondly losing belly fat and becoming generally fitter, toned, energised, and happier due to this game.
