Re: UK Retailers Optimistic About Nintendo Switch, But Lingering Doubts Remain

Kit

I have a really sinking feeling about the Switch, I fear that in the background of the vastly superior platforms of XBOX/PS/PC it will have very a hard time making ground. Plus I think that Ninty will just mark it up way too high (again). As for portability, the 3DS is still excellent although old now. I got a WiiU collecting dust so I think that I for one will be passing on this NeXt generation Ninty console and stick to PC gaming, oh and of course Pokemon on my 3DS.

Re: Niantic Is Lifting Some Pokémon GO Account Bans

Kit

I climbed all the way up a steep hill in the middle of nowhere thinking 'ah well this oughta be good for 24 hours till someone gets up here', wrong. Within 4 hours some spoofing lamer had taken it. That is what's wrong with this game!

Re: The Pokémon Sun and Moon Z-Move Toys Look Like Money-Spinners

Kit

@Ryu_Niiyama Isn't it enough that they get a new game to play? Sorry but I'm very sceptical about such marketing ploys targeting children (and the gullible), it just feeds into an 'I want, I want' attitude in life. That and it being cheap plastic tat that'll probably break, run out of batteries and never be used. Sure I had toys, I also had an imagination and made do with whatever I had without constantly wanting/demanding more expensive things.

Re: Niantic Explains Decision to Stop Unofficial Apps From Accessing Pokémon GO's Servers

Kit

It was probably those damn data-mining sites like PokéVision that broke the footsteps indicator anyway if the servers were getting flooded by so many requests. Now if these 3rd party developers at least waited until it's full global release and a few stability updates first (instead of causing untold delays on the rollout and extra work for the dev team) then they might've got away with running them, but human nature and greed wanted it all right now and sod anyone else. This is what I suspected was happening all along and decided not break PKMN GO's ToS by using 3rd party apps and play by the rules. Hope that they get back on track soon.

Re: PokéVision Creator Writes Open Letter On Niantic Shutting Down Fan-Made Pokémon GO Tools

Kit

@KittyKatta Yes, of course I've read the ToS because I was at first conflicted about using these location apps/sites, however these general rules aren't that different from Ingress (which I played before) so it was fairly obvious that it's against the rules, AKA 'cheating'. No matter how you may try to justify it (i.e. everyone else is doing it so it's OK for me to do it) makes no difference it is what it is. So it's basically a moral issue do you want to cheat or not, I'm taking no moral high ground here just calling it what it is and choosing to do what I feel is right... playing the game fairly as it was intended by the developers (as bug ridden as it currently is). So I don't miss these apps/sites and am glad that it levels the playing field. Each to their own!

Re: PokéVision Creator Writes Open Letter On Niantic Shutting Down Fan-Made Pokémon GO Tools

Did Ash have an online Poké-Tracker device when he started out, did Red before him? Nope, it's not in the original 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen games either. It's 'cheating' beyond a doubt and clearly contravenes the designers Terms of Service so don't do it. Niantic were perfectly justified in their actions and I for one am glad they did. Just play the game as it was designed to be played - fairly.

Re: Say Hello To The Site Which Lets You Find Rare Monsters Near You In Pokémon GO

Kit

@Lylard I'm not sure I follow your logic so you're saying using the official in-game shop and spending PokeCoins (which can be earned in game - or even free using Google Opinion Rewards) is cheating, but using a 3rd party web application that gives away the location of 'hidden' in-game PKMN when the point of the game is to find them yourself isn't cheating?!! (Despite being against the games Terms of Service).

You make no sense LOL X-D

Re: Say Hello To The Site Which Lets You Find Rare Monsters Near You In Pokémon GO

Kit

I can't help but think that a) this is cheating (you couldn't do this in the main series) and b) sites like this put an even greater load on the servers (more so than alleged hackers). I'd advise people not to use it, play fairly and be patient with a game that is technically still in a pre-release/post beta-testing phase. It still hasn't been officially launched by Ninty yet!

Re: Guide: How To Use Niantic's Ingress App To Discover Rare Pokémon In Pokémon GO

Kit

I'm not reinstalling Ingress, been there done that and not going back! However, have you noticed the white floating dots in PKMN GO? Tip, that's where the high concentrations of XM in Ingress are and is the spawn points for 'mon. So really you don't need to install both apps at all. Furthermore it doesn't show you where to find 'rare' 'mon either it just shows where they're more likely to regularly spawn. Pls update the article NintyLife!

Re: Guide: Pokémon GO Monster Types And Where To Find Them

Kit

Sadly all this just isn't true (as it should be) I spent all weekend in a forest, not only where there not many PKMN to be seen, I caught a fire-type there?!? The Truth is they are only in large numbers in towns/cities generally around PokéStops (i.e. Ingress portals). We've been sold a dud!
