Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (Christmas Special)

@sandman89 I got most of the way through it back in 2002, almost to the final boss if I remember correctly. I'm not sure why I didn't finish it - probably busy with school work at the time. It's more challenging than 64 and Galaxy, but some of that is down to the lack of polish, like you said.

Back in the day I was often judging it against Mario 64, having loved that game on the N64 and highly anticipating Sunshine. Of course it didn't live up to my expectations. But playing it again now after almost 20 years, I'm judging it on its own merits and enjoying it.

@Gravitron The Wii needed that introduction a lot more than the Switch did. Motion controls defined the Wii. You couldn't play some of the biggest games (such as Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Skyward Sword) without them.

The HD rumble is a nice feature, but we're nearly two years into the Switch's life and how many games have really utilized it? It's usually quite subtle when they do. At the end of the day, it's still just rumble - which we've had since 1996.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Upcoming NES Game Releases For Switch Online Service

I think that the only way we'll ever see Gamecube games on the Switch is in the form of HD re-releases. The Switch has been out for 18 months and we're just about to get the first wave of NES games. And of course, it's the same old slow release schedule. At a rate of three per month (36 per year) I wouldn't be surprised if it's late next year when they move on to SNES games. We'll be waiting until 2021 just to get Super Mario 64.
