Re: Poll: Super Mario All-Stars Is 30 Years Old - Do You Prefer The NES Or SNES Versions Of The Classics?

JoeYabuki

I have kinda of a bittersweet story about this game. Having owned a NES with SMB3 previously, Super Mario World was obviously the most anticipated game for me, the hype was very high! When I finally received my SNES, I was very disapointed it didn't came with World, but with All-Stars as pack-in game, which I've never heard before.

I was only able to beat SMW 2 years later, when I borrowed the game from a friend.

Re: Review: I and Me (Switch eShop)

I know it's a bit late to comment, but I have played it when the Switch version was released in 2017, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had (as a whole, not only gaming related).

Graphics and gameplay aside, the music, the rain and the messages between levels brings that feeling of sad-happiness, like a slow music composed in a Major key (Canon in D by Pachelbel, for example). I kept playing just to read what else they would say about me and myself.

Re: Random: Is Miyamoto's Most Famous Quote Not His After All?

JoeYabuki

I remember a quote from him about Zelda 2, in which he says the game "didn't turned out good enough" or something along those lines. Since the game was well received at the time, people say that the "black sheep" status caugh on when this quote hit the Internet.

This topic would be interesting to research too.

Re: Random: Fancy A 'New' Copy Of F-Zero On The SNES? PixelHeart Has You Covered

@KingMike In 2004 I bought a sealed Player's Choice copy of F-Zero down here in Brazil (US version, not Playtronic), for like 5 USD. I openned, but kept the plastic around the box. I still regret this move, but it was dirt cheap at the time.

At the same time I bought a Zelda LTTP, (Player's Choice), also sealed, for the same price, but it is still sealed to this day.

Today I'm kinda obsessive, most my Switch games are sealed. I buy multiple sealed copies of the Zeldas and other first party stuff. Man, what am I doing with my life... LOL

Re: Nintendo Switch Is The Fastest Selling Console In US History With 4.8 Million Units Sold

@QuickSilver88 Found it totally by chance paging through old EGM magazines (EGM Nº4, page 24, November 1989). You can find them on the Retromags site.

I'm also from early gaming, playing since the Atari 2600 (favorite system: NES). The Switch software line-up reminds me a lot of the NES era, where EVERYONE ported EVERYTHING - you had PC ports, Arcade ports, rival consoles ports, even first party companies like Sega, NEC, Atari and SNK made games for the system. Not even counting the exclusives. Brilliant future ahead!
