How about making enough of the actual Special Edition and the amiibo that go with that game as well so scalpers can be put out of business. We don't all live in our parents basement waiting for pre-orders to go up...
Love this article! But ya just HAD to remind me of Ghost Trick, and now I'm getting my hopes up we will see it again someday. I personally think the next Zelda will come with a special edition Switch Pro gold console/joycons in 2022...idiots like me would buy it instantly.
Dungeon count was way too low, and that sailing fetch quest was so obnoxious. Otherwise, great game! I hope next proper Zelda game brings back epic dungeons, at least 8. The shrines are fun, but not at the expense of the dungeons and bosses!
@Yodalovesu yes this is all of season one. The other seasons I'm sure will come too! I'll wait for price drop to 4.99 or 9.99, but will definitely pick em up. Reminds me of the point and click days!
This one had the toughest final boss in my opinion hands down! Still, entire game ranks middle of the pack as far as FF goes in my humble opinion: I'd go VI, IV, XII, V, X, and even VIII over this one
Love Nintendo, and have since I was 7, so 1987. But I am not a fan of their re-releases for full retail price. I understand their quality is amazing, but 60 for this? Nah brah
64 I never got into for some reason... Sunshine was just OK... But then Galaxy came out and I couldn't believe how good it was. I'll probably refresh with 64 since I really never played it all the way through, which is crazy.
It's amazing how spoiled we are now. I remember paying 59.99 for SNES games, sometimes 69.99...in 1994...which if you adjust for inflation... Just wow the quality of games we get for ten or twenty bucks. Not complaining at all, im just old and jealous I don't have time for all these games!
Not sure why people still feel the need to argue Genesis vs SNES so many years later. Guess it's a testament to how awesome that console war was. SNES was the clear victor, especially when looking back at the total library, but Genesis had some amazing games that people may have missed. Their Contra and Castlevania versions were awesome.
If you don't want true dungeons in the next Zelda game, you're not an actual Zelda fan. Breath of the Wild was absolutely amazing, but WAS missing proper dungeons. Add that, and it's Zelda perfection.
Bought the backer version that was supposed to come with a bunch of extras, and didn't. And the game is buggy. Easily my worst video game purchase so far. Class action lawsuit needs to occur since this was shipped beyond broken, and also not complete like I paid for. Fangamer is what I used.
Operation C, best boss music on the original Game Boy! I do miss having Contra 4 and Contra rebirth on here, since it basically completes the collection in my eyes.
Well, the way these collections usually go... It'll probably be Castlevania 1, 2, 3 on one collection.... Then IV, Bloodlines, Chronicles on another.... Then Symphony, Circle of the Moon, Harmony on one.... Then Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow on another..... You get the point.
Kind of bittersweet to see the game remade; Zelda games used to be such a great combination of overworld, creative dungeons, awesome dungeon items, and fun boss battles. Now it's just another open world game... Breath of the Wild was an awesome game, don't get me wrong, but just didn't feel like a Zelda game at all to me. Obviously, with the amazing sales, most disagree I'm sure, but I want to go back to this, Ocarina, and so on when I want a real Zelda game now.
Let's be completely honest here. No list will be definitive, but this is mine.
1) Super Metroid 2) Metroid Prime 3) Metroid Zero Mission 4) Metroid Prime 3 5) Metroid Fusion 6) Metroid Samus Returns 7) Metroid Prime 2 8) Metroid Other M 9) Metroid 2 Return of Samus 10) Metroid Prime Hunters 11) Metroid Pinball 12) Metroid 13) Federation Force
Yes, Federation Force IS that bad. Other M, aside from awful scenes, is not nearly as bad as people say. And the original and Metroid 2 are tough to play now with the amazing, superior remakes.
Super Metroid is still the best in my view, but Prime is absolutely amazing, especially considering everyone thought it would be a disaster until it was released. Also, Metroid Prime 2, while somewhat frustrating and confusing due to the light and dark world mechanic, has the best collection of video game bosses ever! So many of them and they are so so good. I never played through Prime 3, but it seemed good.
Sorry, but if they aren't going to make legal ways to play masterpieces like Seiken Densetsu 3, Mother 3, and so on, I will download the Roms with English patches and play them. Start translating and releasing these games, and I will GLADLY pay for them.
Damn game wouldn't load my autosave from the demo. No idea why. The save file is still on my system, but the full version of the game isn't detecting the save. Pissing me off...
Yes... Let's not put this on the system that literally is tailor made for remaster and rehashes like no other system before it, and is dominating the sales charts....... Translation: its a 100% certainty it's coming to Switch.
Well they are literally telling the world they can't announce anything legally, which is as good as gold! Hoping for a collectors physical edition when it is announced! Celeste and others need one too, these games are truly awesome and it's amazing how many quality games there are for Switch already. I love my ps4 for movies and some games as well, but Switch and the portability is just too awesome for these 2d games.
It's simple. They have PERFECTED the over world section, but now they need to perfect the dungeons and bosses. They must return to at least 7 or 8 massive dungeons with a huge or unique boss battle at the end of each. Skyward Sword suffered from repetitive boss battles, the low point of BOTW was hands down the boss fights. It was the only thing missing from Breath of the Wild, and it would be the perfect game in my eyes.
You people are whining a ton... They don't announce physical because they like to see if the game is profitable first. Many of these indie developers can't afford all the production it takes to get a game to retail. Just cool your jets;they aren't trying to rip you off, they are trying to get you a physical copy if you choose to have one. Good lord.
I think they created the perfect zelda game... Except for the dungeons and divine beasts. If the next zelda console title has the exploration and scale of BOTW, but with about ten cleverly designed massive themed dungeons spread out with clever bosses at the end of each (not just Ganon 5 times...), it would be the perfect video game. Let's face it, they did the shrines and smaller dungeons to appeal to the mobile aspect of the Switch.
Until VR becomes affordable for everyone, why bother? PLAYSTATION VR is insane expensive. It's very FUN, but definitely not at the point where it's in the mainstream. I think VR will be awesome in about 5 to 7 years, but for now, the tech, demand and price point just isn't there.
Their stock was over 70.12 back in 2008. In 2014, fell to 11.12 at one point. Now, back up to about 47.10....basically, Nintendo's history is going up and down between cycles. I would not buy in again, but I did buy a small amount in 2008 and am pretty damn happy right now. I only see it growing as well with increased optimism and hopefully some amazing third party support. Nintendo right now is a very safe bet.
I feel like the only thing missing in this and Breath of the Wild to make these games basically perfect is amazing boss battles. I really hope video games aren't getting away from creative boss fights and designs.... They are my favorite parts of most of my favorite games and help change things up and give you something to really look forward to. Just my two cents.
I'll be honest, as a lifelong Zelda fan since the entire 80s, I'm not sure how anyone could disagree with this analysis. The dungeons and bosses were definitely the low light, while the exploration was the easy highlight. This game was amazing, but can definitely improve on the next entry!
I'm trying my best to not be mean, but you people don't understand marketing. Nintendo is doing this ABSOLUTELY 100% ON PURPOSE. Let me be clear; why in the world would Nintendo want to cut supply to this? The answer is kind of complicated, but completely makes sense if you understand business. They are creating a product that has extremely high demand from the market, generating headlines and constant word of mouth. Nintendo is constantly being talked about. But Nintendo makes such a small amount of money on this vs Switch or current systems which generate additional income through software, add ons, accessory sales, etc. Why would they focus manufacturing on something that makes them 50 bucks a sale when their golden goose is Switch and software? This isn't tough; Nintendo could care less if you have any of these classic systems; they are just utilizing them for marketing, plain and simple. And it's working.
