Re: Feature: Our Predictions For Nintendo's E3 2021 Direct

Love this article! But ya just HAD to remind me of Ghost Trick, and now I'm getting my hopes up we will see it again someday. I personally think the next Zelda will come with a special edition Switch Pro gold console/joycons in 2022...idiots like me would buy it instantly.

Re: Video: We Weren't Sure We Wanted A Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake, Until We Got It

Jcdbengals

Kind of bittersweet to see the game remade; Zelda games used to be such a great combination of overworld, creative dungeons, awesome dungeon items, and fun boss battles. Now it's just another open world game... Breath of the Wild was an awesome game, don't get me wrong, but just didn't feel like a Zelda game at all to me. Obviously, with the amazing sales, most disagree I'm sure, but I want to go back to this, Ocarina, and so on when I want a real Zelda game now.

Re: Guide: The Best Metroid Games - Every Metroid Game Ranked

Jcdbengals

Let's be completely honest here. No list will be definitive, but this is mine.

1) Super Metroid
2) Metroid Prime
3) Metroid Zero Mission
4) Metroid Prime 3
5) Metroid Fusion
6) Metroid Samus Returns
7) Metroid Prime 2
8) Metroid Other M
9) Metroid 2 Return of Samus
10) Metroid Prime Hunters
11) Metroid Pinball
12) Metroid
13) Federation Force

Yes, Federation Force IS that bad. Other M, aside from awful scenes, is not nearly as bad as people say. And the original and Metroid 2 are tough to play now with the amazing, superior remakes.

Super Metroid is still the best in my view, but Prime is absolutely amazing, especially considering everyone thought it would be a disaster until it was released. Also, Metroid Prime 2, while somewhat frustrating and confusing due to the light and dark world mechanic, has the best collection of video game bosses ever! So many of them and they are so so good. I never played through Prime 3, but it seemed good.

Re: Developer Iconoclasts Says Porting The Game To Switch "Would Be Fun"

Jcdbengals

Well they are literally telling the world they can't announce anything legally, which is as good as gold! Hoping for a collectors physical edition when it is announced! Celeste and others need one too, these games are truly awesome and it's amazing how many quality games there are for Switch already. I love my ps4 for movies and some games as well, but Switch and the portability is just too awesome for these 2d games.

Re: Poll: Surprise! A New Zelda Is In Development, But What Do You Want From It?

Jcdbengals

It's simple. They have PERFECTED the over world section, but now they need to perfect the dungeons and bosses. They must return to at least 7 or 8 massive dungeons with a huge or unique boss battle at the end of each. Skyward Sword suffered from repetitive boss battles, the low point of BOTW was hands down the boss fights. It was the only thing missing from Breath of the Wild, and it would be the perfect game in my eyes.

Re: Darkest Dungeon Goes Physical With The Ancestral Edition On Switch

Jcdbengals

You people are whining a ton... They don't announce physical because they like to see if the game is profitable first. Many of these indie developers can't afford all the production it takes to get a game to retail. Just cool your jets;they aren't trying to rip you off, they are trying to get you a physical copy if you choose to have one. Good lord.

Re: Return To Breath Of The Wild's Divine Beasts With The Latest Boss Keys Analysis Vid

Jcdbengals

I think they created the perfect zelda game... Except for the dungeons and divine beasts. If the next zelda console title has the exploration and scale of BOTW, but with about ten cleverly designed massive themed dungeons spread out with clever bosses at the end of each (not just Ganon 5 times...), it would be the perfect video game. Let's face it, they did the shrines and smaller dungeons to appeal to the mobile aspect of the Switch.

Re: Soapbox: Switch's Rampant Success Is Proof Positive That You Should Never Write Off Nintendo

Jcdbengals

Their stock was over 70.12 back in 2008. In 2014, fell to 11.12 at one point. Now, back up to about 47.10....basically, Nintendo's history is going up and down between cycles. I would not buy in again, but I did buy a small amount in 2008 and am pretty damn happy right now. I only see it growing as well with increased optimism and hopefully some amazing third party support. Nintendo right now is a very safe bet.

Re: Talking Point: The Case for Super Mario Odyssey as the Greatest Mario Game

Jcdbengals

I feel like the only thing missing in this and Breath of the Wild to make these games basically perfect is amazing boss battles. I really hope video games aren't getting away from creative boss fights and designs.... They are my favorite parts of most of my favorite games and help change things up and give you something to really look forward to. Just my two cents.

Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing

Jcdbengals

I'm trying my best to not be mean, but you people don't understand marketing. Nintendo is doing this ABSOLUTELY 100% ON PURPOSE. Let me be clear; why in the world would Nintendo want to cut supply to this? The answer is kind of complicated, but completely makes sense if you understand business. They are creating a product that has extremely high demand from the market, generating headlines and constant word of mouth. Nintendo is constantly being talked about. But Nintendo makes such a small amount of money on this vs Switch or current systems which generate additional income through software, add ons, accessory sales, etc. Why would they focus manufacturing on something that makes them 50 bucks a sale when their golden goose is Switch and software? This isn't tough; Nintendo could care less if you have any of these classic systems; they are just utilizing them for marketing, plain and simple. And it's working.
