@Theghostofkeithmoon wish I had kept hold of mine I do have a steam deck oled which I have to say is an emulation beast but it’s nice to have og hardware

@Theghostofkeithmoon yeah you’re right it’s a thing of the past I guess it’s a shame cos the game isn’t the cheapest just another game I’m gonna have to miss out on

Kinda what I expected I will give this a miss I’m not overly enthusiastic about online play was hoping for some decent single player modes multiplayer is always excellent with these kinds of games but it’s not enough to convince me especially considering the price

I haven’t tried the demo but I’m definitely gonna try it I’ve read quite a lot about this game and I’m intrigued plus it’s Capcom which is usually enough for me to buy it anyway. I love these polls on here there is always that one guy who votes abysmal to everything and anything always gives me a laugh 😆

This looks really good but I’m gonna wait cos the last few Mario sports titles have been a bit light on content which is a shame as they always look good and play well I know content gets added over time but I just want a good solid single player tournament or whatever from the start as I know it will be great in multiplayer anyway

@WhiteUmbrella it’s not about having backbone it’s just something that is unfortunately inevitable. I consider myself to be a collector always have been and always will be but it’s a sad state of affairs that I don’t want to happen but it will I have a ton of retro consoles and games that I cherish but I’m not gonna pretend that this isn’t the future no matter how much I wanna shape or change it that’s all I’m gonna say

@WhiteUmbrella I’m not defending anyone I have a PS5 also I’m simply pointing out that some of these ps5 games will not be playable in the future for example when I’m installing a PS5 game I put my megadrive on no hassle no fuss playing the game I want to cos when the servers are gone in the future some of those ps5 games will not be playable to their full capacity same with switch 2 games it’s a bad situation but no point in missing out on a game you want to play now it’s the way the industry is going and a few people protesting about it will not change the situation publisher’s will use the cheapest way to market I just wanna play some of these games I have a decent retro collection so I’m happy but it’s not going to go away anytime soon

@Anti-Matter you do realise when you purchase PS5 games on disc they are basically a disc based version of a key card you can still sell a key card game and you can buy them second hand if you so wish there is literally no difference

This is a great game for relaxing and the pixel art is some of the nicest I’ve seen looks great on a monitor it is repetitive but if you are in the mood to play this it’s great

I’ve not heard most of these but I definitely will be trying a few of these out over Christmas if anyone is interested Cast n Chill is excellent it really is a chilled experience but for some reason highly addictive I thought I would take a break from Metroid prime 4 and ended up playing cast n chill for hours

@Mgalens yeah you’re right I’ve had a fair share of bugs with verified games on steam deck for example art of rally it used to crash every time I paused it and sometimes not even load not tried it for months but it made me just give up on it it’s great when the effort is put to fix these annoying bugs although I suppose they don’t happen for everyone

@link3710 thanks for the reply I didn’t experience anything like that guess I was just lucky glad to see that even minor or rare crashes are being fixed

What was wrong with Streets of Rage 4 I played through the whole thing on Friday and didn’t get any issues

Making my way through Metroid Prime 4 been really enjoying it so far think I might get marvel cosmic invasion later on as I got the imp arcade pro last week for a bargain price it’s a cool piece of kit although something needs to be done about the artwork but it’s a joy to use

The Dreamcast one is lovely looking but the price wow would have been cool if you could use them on the Dreamcast although I love the sound of the original DC keyboard

I have the European version but I went with the Japanese cos that’s an exact replica of my original super famicom which I sold my Amiga for back in the day I think they modelled the controller cable length on the super famicom cos they were ridiculously short I remember buying a SNES controller once they were released in the UK and the bloke in the shop telling me it wouldn’t work as the controllers were region locked 😂

This looks great I was gonna preorder it but it has the same release date as Metroid Prime 4

Hyrule Warriors for me and I picked up powerslave exhumed in the sale which I’ve been really enjoying its such a good remake having not played it since the Sega Saturn days it’s like playing a brand new game

This is my favourite of the switch online controllers not only do I use it for playing the SNES games but it’s great with games like street fighter 6 on switch 2 my only complaint is a lack of a dedicated home button

@SpecialT I have I still have my original switch 1 pro controller and it’s great had it since launch day so it’s stood the test of time but yeah I was pretty sceptical about spending a relatively large chunk of cash on something that’s essentially the same thing but the feel and the noise reduction over the original has kinda justified the purchase for me plus it has better rumble in Mario kart world you can really tell the difference

Picked up Hyrule Warriors and a switch 2 pro controller last night not played Hyrule Warriors yet but I have to say the the pro controller is one of the nicest controllers I’ve ever used the analog sticks are like butter and the matte finish gives the controller such a nice feel I’ve read some comments on various sites saying the dpad is a disaster but playing through street fighter 6 this morning it seemed great to me I feel the controller is a little expensive but it certainly has a premium feel to it I’m really impressed so far

I have Demons tilt on steam deck and its great will definitely be picking this up on switch 2 with its bigger screen and Tate mode should be the definitive way to play this

Isn’t there another cover for the Japanese version of de la jet set radio think it’s pretty much the same just a different character on the front

I voted Europe cos it’s the version I have but I think they should have done it where they didn’t put the Dreamcast logo at the top like they did with powerstone and other various games where the artwork was quality I do actually prefer the US artwork but I went with the one I know best

Got myself a pc engine mini at last will be playing some Rondo of blood and R type got an 8bitdo wireless controller it’s a bit smaller than the original but it works really well

I have a steam deck oled and a switch oled they are both great in different ways first of all you don’t need a dock it can be done with usb c to hdmi and if you do want a dock you don’t have to buy the official one there are loads of different types out there that can also be used with other hardware not just the steam deck I will be getting a switch 2 but with a lot of AAA third party games at less than £10 it’s hard to argue about the decks worth games like Devil may cry v are simply superb experiences on the deck emulation is top notch and easy to configure and use they are just so different compared to switch the very fact people wanna argue about it and be salty towards the steam deck speaks volumes I see it as a bit of a luxury and I’ve enjoyed every minute of owning it I’m not a pc guy but steam has opened my eyes to different experiences which are not always possible on consoles

The power stone games are great I’m surprised it’s taken so long to bring them to modern platforms but project justice is amazing it’s so weird at times but plays like a typical capcom vs fighter I’m lucky I picked it up on Dreamcast at the end of it’s lifespan when they were seen as really unpopular so Gamestation were selling off games like this and sf third strike for pennies brand new for £10 look at its value now great game tho I wouldn’t ever sell it

@Dunkin the steam deck is actually quite a nice looking piece of hardware it doesn’t look like a kids toy and it’s very comfortable for long gaming sessions it’s big where it needs to be ie where you grip it also it has track pads on the front that’s why it appears to look so big it’s much more comfortable than the original switch which is practically flat and gives you hand cramps

Paid £24 for the deluxe version on steam it’s great on the steam deck it’s quite a novelty playing it on a handheld but it’s definitely better docked and in 4k it’s a great game tho would definitely recommend it

@Diowine I’m not really comparing the 2 games I’m simply saying that the prices are being pushed up and the whole games industry will follow suit and if they sell in big numbers it will send the message to developers that we the consumers are ok with that

But that’s cheap compared to GTA 6 that’s rumoured to be £100 for the standard edition so it’s they way the industry is going

This looks amazing I love bitmap bureau games xeno crisis is one of my absolute favourites and final vendetta is pretty cool as well bet it’s gonna be tough as nails can’t wait for this

I will be getting a switch 2 I have a steam deck oled and a switch oled at the moment and a straight up comparison is just not possible there are so many things you can do on a steam deck that are just simply not possible in switch and for people to say the steam deck is just for emulation is just pure ignorance my switch is for Nintendos output which I’ve always enjoyed but on the other hand I don’t like paying £40-50 on old ports that often suffer on switch where as the steam deck offers games like that at a fraction of the cost they both have their strengths so a straight up comparison is meaningless

I have a launch day og and an oled but I’m in no rush to get rid of either of them I would really like an oled switch 2 to be available at launch but I’m not sure that’s gonna happen otherwise I will wait a while

I really enjoyed this it’s actually quite technical plays really well with an arcade stick I got it physical for £26 which was a great deal anyone interested in a good fighting game should definitely give it a go

@Zuljaras thanks for the info can all that be done through desktop mode I’ve been surprised how quickly and easily I’ve been able to do stuff on the deck managed to install some different launchers cos I really don’t have much experience in anything PC related

@Zuljaras it is gonna have a look at some emulators later I can’t get over how little some indie games cost especially on cdkeys compared to steam itself it really pays to shop around 👍🏻

@Zuljaras got my steam deck at last I had enough to get an oled I’m really pleased with it so far done quite a bit of tinkering around with various settings also managed to get uncharted legacy of thieves and it’s stunning on the deck plays really well oh got castlevania collection for £2.29 its an amazing piece of kit also I’ve tried a few games that are not verified but they run superbly

This is a great game had it on Dreamcast for years can be a bit tricky but once you get the hang of it it’s fantastic this and Zero Gunner 2 are amazing to have on Switch

@Folkloner true they could actually be sat in a warehouse somewhere unopened brand new I’m not trying to take anything away from Sony it’s an incredible achievement I just find it odd that they amended the figures like that

Those PlayStation 2 figures are questionable Sony seems to have added to the 155m total somewhat plus the console was manufactured for over 12 years so the switch still has time to overtake it but I doubt Nintendo will continue to manufacture the og switch once the switch 2 gets released

Been playing Ridge Racer 64 it’s actually really good having never played the N64 version I’m surprised the graphics are very clean compared to the PlayStation 1 version but the handling is not as good also the ridiculous voice from the ps1 has been toned down which is a shame as it really suits the game great game though I’ve nearly finished it so I will be going for record lap times just wish the switch had a modern day version of its own

@Zuljaras thanks for the reply sounds like it’s my kinda thing I really wanna get one it’s just weighing up the costs for me at the moment I sometimes play CSGO is it playable on the deck and if so how does it run I just feel like it could open up a side of gaming to me that’s definitely not possible on most consoles

@Zuljaras I’m seriously considering buying a steam deck oled have a few old consoles to trade in to put towards it. I notice that you post quite often and it always looks amazing just wondering are they as good as they look and is it worth it to get one I will be getting a switch 2 cos I love Nintendo’s exclusives but handheld gaming has become my main type of gaming I just want an honest answer as they are not cheap

@Thomystic yeah didn’t think of that it just occurred to me when I was using my ps vita it just seemed better but I suppose the switch is much bigger it’s just kinda odd like a Dreamcast controller where the cable comes from the bottom of the controller and you have a little groove to keep it out of the way just seems like a bad design but also comes from necessity

The headphone jack being at the top of the console really bothers me I do use Bluetooth headphones most of the time but occasionally I use wired usually when I forget to charge them and I guess quite a lot of people use a gaming headset I find it quite frustrating having the wire trailing round the back I thought they might have fixed this when the switch oled was released but it’s still there feel like it’s a bit of an oversight

Seems crazy to say but Mario kart 8 is 11 this year and it still sells by the bucket load on switch granted I’m talking about the Wii u release but even so a relatively simple racing game has managed to hold my attention for so long think we need a sequel now Nintendo

I was definitely surprised by my most played game it was Easy come Easy golf but saying that every time family or friends come to mine it’s what everyone seems to want to play Mario kart 8 was a close second its been top of my list for a few years running

@Toastmaster I still have my vita it’s like you say hampered by some bad design choices I still play Ridge Racer both psp and vita versions and everybody’s golf or hotshots golf depending where you are it’s a nice size to put in a bag I just always felt that Sony didn’t really care about it from the very beginning I know Nintendos consoles are not always technically the best but they always seem to get the best out of them I know the switch is underpowered but it’s been a joy to own from day one

Well good luck to them I certainly wouldn’t buy one I still feel like I got burned off the ps vita it was a great little machine with an awesome screen at the time but it was dead on arrival it’s as if Sony had no intention of supporting it and the memory card fiasco killed it off very quickly
