Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 31st)

@SillyPlanet92 Yes!! I knew I'd be able to sell this game to someone out there! I really am loving it, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is my game of the year, but man, I did not expect Signalis to give it competition at the last minute. I hope you give it a try! It's absolutely worth it in my book, to survival horror fans and newcomers alike

@GregamanX Trust me, as someone who loves the first Xenoblade Chronicles and is fairly critical of the second (I still like it though, but I do think it's pretty flawed), Xenoblade 3 very much felt like a return to the tighter design of the first game. I love it equally, it's literally a mash of 1 with 2's good parts that improves and adresses the critcisms of 2. In short, you'll probably like it, or you may end up loving it

Signalis. This is the time of the year where I catch up on the great indies I haven't played in the year because of the holiday sales.

Signalis is my first survival horror game, tank controls and all (they're optional, might I add) and I'm having an amazing time. The atmosphere is top notch, it's incredibly tense, refreshingly puzzle heavy, the enemies are terrifying, the story very interesting, fairly open-ended level design, great aesthetic, great music, and a tough fight for survival.

It's been incredibly fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in survival horror games like the classic Resident Evils and Silent Hill

Anyway, happy new year everyone!

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2023

GreenTea

@VGFreak1225 I don't know if you've seen it, but some of the Monolith staff did an interview a few years ago where they mentioned that porting Xenoblade X to the switch would take so much resources they'd rather just remake it, I can't remember the exact quote but I remember that they sounded a bit dissatisfied with the final product in comparison to the mainline games, so they would actually want to remake it. So I highly doubt we'd see a port of X on the Switch

Personally, while I've never played the first game, I think I'd rather see a sequel on the next Nintendo console that expands and improves upon the original. I've heard mixed opinions on X, and apparently the story ended on a cliffhanger, so I think a sequel would satisfy everyone.

Again, I might be misremembering, but maybe it was during an interview about the Torna expansion (on Nintendolife, I think), so that may be worth checking out for you

Sadly this year I'll be spending Christmas alone but that does give me a chance to continue playing some sweet vidjeagamez

-Bayonetta 3: I'm currently replaying the entire trilogy and having a blast. This is my third Bayo 3 playthrough and I think I'll make one long sitting through 3 chapters this weekend

-Splatoon 3: Will probably go for a few rounds, it's got its hooks in me!

Overall, won't play much, I think I'll take a break from games once I finish Bayo 3 to replenish my energy for the new year, finishing long rpgs has got me exhausted
I hope everyone enjoys the holidays! Merry Christmas, and remember to have a good time!

Re: Feature: 7 Series That Need A Strategy Spin-Off On Switch

GreenTea

@Fizza Yeah, you could even be able to go further in your ink, become hidden, have to recharge your ink tank to shoot, slow down enemies... Gosh the concept is perfect!
Originally, I wanted a spinoff game to be a lengthy 4-player coop campaign but scratch that, this is way better 😂

Re: Feature: 7 Series That Need A Strategy Spin-Off On Switch

GreenTea

@Fizza Beat me to it! Seriously, that could be inkredible (hehe) and really expand the lore in amazing ways, like what if your squad mostly consisted of adult inklings or octolings, what if we could see younger Cuttlefish and DJ Octavio doing sick beats on the field of battle!
We could even get older style weapons that would make their way in Splatoon 4, and it would even be a great way to introduce some new memorable locales, some music bands that you could interact with, that were inspirations to modern Splatoon music. What if we had a classic Calamari Inkantation!

Even gameplay-wise, the ink concept could make for a great spin on tactical battles! Ooh, I have so many ideas, I need it NOW

Re: Rune Factory 3 Special Has Been Rated For The Nintendo Switch

GreenTea

@BalloonFighter Yeah, I didn't expect the series to go in that direction but I guess it was inevitable when considering the copious amounts of blood Rune Factory 2 had. Will say though, that strip club scene in RF4 went a bit too far for me, so I dropped out of the series. What a shame!

Re: Back Page: 8 Video Games That Would Make Perfect Christmas Getaways

GreenTea

Bayonetta 2 is my pick for Christmas game. It's not really snow themed but the idea of the game taking place during christmas time is super sweet. Santa Rodin lives rent free in my head. I'm not sure I'd want to LIVE in that world though lol

Also Bayonetta and Jeanne celebrating the literal birth of Jesus Christ is hilarious to me

Re: Random: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Glitch Lets You Skip School (And The Story)

GreenTea

@EllaTheKawaiiNeko As much as I'll criticise the Pokémon Company for relying too much on merchandise over quality games... Dammit these things are cute! I never really collected Pokémon cards but I know that if I started, there'd be no end to it😂, same for plushies. And well, maybe Linus cries himself to sleep every night and fills the void with his overly expensive Snorlax, we may never know!

Re: Hideki Kamiya Is Already Starting To Talk About Bayonetta 4

GreenTea

@EVIL-C To be fair, the story of the first game is near incomprehensible 😅, but after watching a lore summary on youtube (by Tiptoe the Tank, I believe? It's been a while) I finally understood its plot, and going into Bayo 2 it was incredibly satisfying especially considering that entire flashback sequence. Bayo 2 was actually partially written by DMC 3's writer (Bingo Morihashi, was it?) And it showed, I actually love that story, it's really emotional, and it made me love Bayo. Bummer he didn't come back

Bayo 3 was very much an action trip with Bayo, it didn't hit the same as Bayo 2 (except for the ending), but it delivered on the spectacle, and that sweeeet gameplay, so I still love it.

Hopefully Bayo 4 has a more comprehensible story this time around, but I have very little faith in Kamiya's restraint😂.

Re: Hideki Kamiya Is Already Starting To Talk About Bayonetta 4

GreenTea

I'm really looking forward to the series' future, and I actually really liked the story of Bayo 3, as someone who loves the stories of 1 and 2 (especially 2!) I'm on board with what they'll give us next, though I hope they'll quench my Bayojeanne thirst 😉 next time.

Bayo 3 was weird, but bold, and I respect that

Re: Nintendo Shares More Details On Splatoon 3's Upcoming X Battles

GreenTea

I really hope they put some rewards for X players (nothing huge, don't penalize the rest of the playerbase!) but just some extra incentive to play them. Honestly my favorite addition to Splatoon 3 are all the random stuff you can earn to customise your character, so some X-specific stuff would be pretty neat!
