Re: Talking Point: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

GloverMist

My 2017 Switch has a slight hairline crack in its glass screen protector (thankfully not the actual screen) and I had to send my Joy-Cons in to Nintendo for drift two years ago, but aside from that, it's been as perfect as the day I got it! Still use it almost every day and haven't needed to upgrade yet! (Though I would like an OLED one, thanks.) What a wonderful little machine.

Happy 13th, Nintendo Life! Let the grumpy teenage years begin! Nah, in all seriousness, it's fantastic to see the site still going from strength to strength. Long may it last!

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Will Have IVs And EVs, Ditches Held Items And Abilities

Come on, now, is everyone gonna be so negative about this? We've gotta remember that the Gen. I that some people love didn't have Abilities or held items either. Besides, these weren't designed to be competitive battling games. Let's Go isn't going to be used for official events, Ultra Sun/Moon will. So for a casual game intended at a causal audience, this makes perfect sense.

Re: Review: Detective Pikachu (3DS)

OK, can we all not moan about how this isn't on Switch or isn't exactly how you wanted to be, or something? The smaller Japanese version of the game was started in 2013 and released in 2016, of course they're gonna keep it on 3DS for its final release. Maybe work on upscaling it in the future, but give them chance to release it as they intended.

I, for one, am happy to see my beloved 3DS get even more support, but I am very biased towards it! (But I love my Switch too!)

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Has Passed Five Million Installs on Android

@roy130390 Thanks for the kind words about all that! One of the main things that put me off about the series even now is the massive divide in fans between the original game fans who can be somewhat elitist about being there first, and newer fans that may only appreciate the more anime style of Awakening/Fates. It's a shame that there's such a divide, as it's all the same series and everyone should be allowed to like what they want, but what can ya do?

I would like to try out one of the 3DS titles one day, though, and see how more complex the gameplay gets. Thanks for the advice!
