Cool! I've really been wanting to get my Futuristic Western game on the Switch. Now I just need the money for a dev kit :/ Anyone happen to know the price of one?

I'll pass. I could get a free switch though, but I would have to trade in my WiiU and 3DS. I think I want keep both of those systems. Sure the Switch is getting a bunch of WiiU ports, but there isn't a garen tee that Pokken, Twilight Princess HD, Mario Maker and Star Fox are going to be there. I'll keep my WiiU for those games. Also I bought a bunch of digital games too so those would kind of be wasted purchass if I couldn't trade them in too lol

Hopefully all of the issues with the system will be fixed by April. I may be hyped for the console, but I'm not wasting $300 on a defective unit

So I'm confused. Does only 1 of the joy con have a battery?

That's with all setting turned on to its max capacity. It should last a little longer when the settings are adjusted

It's 2 1/2 hours for Zelda with all of the settings on its maximum output. We should hAve plenty of game time when we adjust the settings a bit. I know I will.

Quick question: Can a dev kit also run retail games? If so, then I might just hold off on a retail switch and save the extra $100 to $150 for a dev kit. Either way I'm taking Unity classes this March so I can prototype Boost the Slamander!

@SeriousSam It's a game I'm working on. As well as a Sci-Fi Western game. Hopefully I can get the dev kit to get it running on the switch

A new dedicated portable seems like it would cut into Switch sales a bit unless the portable comes out a few years after the Switch launches. But then people would wonder why they need to buy a portable device if their Switch already sort of doubles as one. I can't seem to find any way for the Switch and a new handheld to coexist. If you guys have any ideas, feel free to let me know.

What if the new story is the Majora's Mask equivalent of Breath of the Wild? That would be great!

If the next dedicated portable Nintendo system does come around, it should be able to run Switch games(or at leat some of them). Perhaps it can just be a smaller Switch with nonremovable controllers?

So are we going to see more from franchises that haven't had a game in a while? I want to see a new Metroid, a new FZERO, a new Star Fox(Zero was fun, but not the ideal Star Fox), and a new Kid Icarus

I just want to see the IR motion camera put to good use. All the other tech will no doubt be used to its full potential, bUT what about the IR camera? Is it just for eating virtual sandwiches?

I still want to know why there was an airplane mode symbol on the home screen... Is nintendo's online service a 4G type of thing where you can play online absolutely anywhere?

Until you realize that you are buying both a home system and a portable system at the same time. The $299.99 price us a bit steep, but not unreasonable. All of the tech in the Switch(except for the IR camera thing on the bottom of the right joycon) are either standard or revolutionary(even if by a small degree). Imagine in 2006 imagining what the 2017 Switch would be like? It's incredible! I do get that it is 2017 and not 2006, but the Switch should not(and probably will not) be brushed off or put to the side like the WiiU was. It still has plenty going for it. I just can't wait to see what Nintendo has in store for us

What if the subscription service also acts as a way to play online games anywhere wit out a direct wifi connection(like a 4G network of sorts)? I doubt it, but imagine that. It would explain the airplane signal in the Switch UI.

Is it wrong that I really don't care much for specs? I understand that they are crucial to making a successful modern day game console, but the Switch seems like a fine console to me.

Plot twist: Nintendo's online subscription program is actually a data plan to access internet features at home and on the go! It would definitely make the purchase worth it!

Train in my WiiU may be an option, but if I do then I may not be able to play Star Fox Zero or my other WiiU games again... at lest my birth day is in April

$250 was the ideal price point in my eyes. They already have a lot of people on board. My dad the other day was excited about the system and he normally doesn't care much for nintendo(or video games in general)! Nintendo is hitting all of the right targets so far. Let's hope that they can keep hitting them far onto the Switch's lifespan.
All I could ever want on the system itself is a new and imaginative mario game, Breath of the Wild, a new StarFox game, a new Metroid game, a new FZero, Pokemon, a new Splatoon, and Super Smash Bros! If they can get at least that lineup of games over the Switch's life time, my life will have been completed!

I don't think it's metroid or kid icarus. The type of wepon he is using as reference doesn't really fit any of those universes. It's probably a new ip. I can't wait to see what sakurai has up his sleeve!

I have given up on Unity after the experiencing the terrible service provided when my copy wouldn't start up. I called their main office for help and they immediately hung up on me each time I called, until they got irritated and left me on an open line! UNITY has lost my support! Hopefully the Switch will support other easy to use engines...

I would play the heck out if a Sonic game that was like this! Seems like the gameplay is more suited to a Mario 64 style game

Cant say that I am personally disappointed with the WiiU. I loved it as I have every other Nintendo console I have owned. It was unique and different from all the rest of them, and I am happy that I didn't pass up the opportunity to get one. Now to buy a Snes, Nes, and NX to finish my home console collection!

Such a shame... it wasn't all that bad of a game. The reason why they made this too was to help people see what the Federation really did. Perhaps they will play a bigger Roll in Metroid Prime 5?
