@123akis Yes, but for that amount of money there are plenty of other games you could get. This trailer looks very basic, and considering the games I could get for $5 right now in Steam...this is way overpriced. Aura-aura Climber, from Nintendo, feels like a much more polished version of this game, for $2!
A lot of these games, unless you really like the gameplay, will not bring customers. To customers like me, I wonder if the price justifies the length and experience. If these aren't justified, I'm not going to buy it. Mighty Switch Force nails this aspect as a cheap, well made short game.
Also a game's value should never be based on how many people made it.
I have a question if anyone can answer me. If the Switch is not region locked...what is stopping people from buying online from a country with a favorable currency exchange rate and getting it cheaper there? Is this not possible/allowed? I remember people buying Japanese Amiibo because they weren't as expensive over there.
Also I went into my local Walmart in the U.S. recently and saw a Switch behind their glass cabinet. There are possibly more in their warehouse. So no, I think these stock issues are only in specific areas.
@cfgk24 Yes, so does every other device that uses your outlet to power an electronic device. Along with your Speaker, 3DS charger, TV, monitor, Toaster.....etc. Everything that connects to the wall must have a power supply. These devices cannot run on Alternating Current.
Usb C technology exists in my PS4 controller, so does that alone make it high quality? Something that probably costs a few dollars? Do springs cost that much?
No, the dock is in theory not hard to replicate. If you have the tools to assemble it, it probably costs a few bucks. Perhaps the plastic shell costs more! Or perhaps making it widely available in stores costs a bit too...
@MyLegGuy Do you have Cave Story+ on Steam? As someone who has beaten the true end as Quote and Curly, and all of the challenges, I have never seen this happen in my game. Try verifying your game's cache.
Right click Cave Story+'s icon on your library>click properties>click local files>click Verify Integrity of Game Files.
If this issue still persists, just uninstall and reinstall the game. Your save files won't be altered in any way by doing this.
If you still can't get Cave Story+ working right, tell me your OS. Windows 10 can have some problems with Steam games, or perhaps older OSs as well.
Lastly, yes Nicalis is a pretty horrible company... Bought 1001 Spikes on Wii U and they never fully fixed it.... One time during my Junior year of high school I was interviewing people from game companies for an english paper. Of course Yacht Club Games and Wayforward responded immediately...but not even a "sorry no thanks" from Nicalis....
Not sure about the free-to-play style (Pokemon Shuffle made me weary with a massive halt to gameplay), but I hope this game is a fun Final Fantasy spin-off like Theatrythm: Curtain Call is!
@crackafreeze I tried 3U after playing Generations...and it wasn't pleasant for me. The older games are by no means bad...but feels more clunky compared to the latest iteration. It's like playing the better sequel and then not appreciating the older game you would have liked otherwise...
@JaxonH While XCX was fun, I think you should still check out the original. Yes the combat system isn't as deep, but I think it's more engaging with a certain battle mechanic (not spoiling just in case for viewers) and it actually explains how the combat system works.
Also XC1 is long compared to XCX? Am....I hearing that right? XC1 takes about 60-80 hours to play through about about 120-140 to 100%...but XCX is a bit weird in that the story can be completed in about 20-35 hours (depending on how fast you are) or waaay past 300+ hours. The game has like 700+ achievements. I want to play more XCX...but all that is left for me is grinding for much better weapons and augments, filling out the last weapon classes, and doing sidequests (which aside from H-2-Hs, are a bit of a waste of time; too few interesting story lines).
XC in comparison has little to no grinding if you exploit the chest trick (saving before opening a chest and save scumming; saves time) and are smart about your strategy. It's very possible to be past lv 50 and take down enemies much much higher than your lv.
Also, as many others have pointed out, XCX has HORRIBLE music balancing. After you get your skell, you either will want to avoid the skell when possible to actually hear the area's music and not a constantly restarting flying theme. Aside from that and NLA's day and night themes which gets old quick, there's nothing else really bad about the music.
Exploring in XCX felt really good, along with getting better weapons (before the 200 individual parts wall appeared and basically required a lot of grinding time or effective strategies which others have created), and mix'n mashing different weapon styles.
And yeah...soul voices are helpful early on to keep you alive, but later on they prevent you from selecting some arts in time. This is unlike XC1 which actually pauses the fight for the prompt. I wish the prompt paused the fight in XCX, aside from multiplayer obviously.
For reference, I have about a total of 340+ hours in XC1, and like 150+ in XCX (could have said more, but anymore time I spent was from waiting overnight for squad tickets.
Speaking of which I need to get those 2 spring for my PS4 controller....opened it up and the springs flew off, never to be seen again. In BattleBlocks Theater I kept crouching without meaning too.
@CTMike $20 during a frequent 75% off sale. Heists you don't actully need to buy to play as you can join someone that has the heists. Yeah, totally going to need a payday....
@Funky_Kong How is this game not polished? This game still feels complete even without the largly ignorable DLC, which you can still access through people who own it. The DLC never says you can't succeed in the game.
Additionally, with the sale on Steam the base game was $5. For the base content, $5 is a steal. I would assume the NS version would be $20-30, but still that's a fair price for this game.
"Just to give you guys an idea about this game on PC, because it looks like you have no idea what you are dealing with here. This game has:
Terrible netcode, no servers, all peer2peer, de-sync is everywhere
Terrible AI, which can be crucial in-game
Crashes and slowdowns are normal, even on the best PCs
An update of 100MB, needs a full game copy first, meaning you need almost 40GB free to add one or two little things
Vehicle handling is worse than in 20 year old racing games
No anti-cheat, you can even ruin others' savegames
Total game costs >€200 and that's AFTER a price drop, lots more for early players
Don't think that €200 gives you all content, some is locked behind Humble Bundle, or even time limited, you'll need at least €500 to complete the game
There are micro-transactions as well, cause they need more support
Got a script? You can have all that for free and no one will do anything about it, you might get a cheater tag over your head though
Balance? There is no such thing. Just keep adding stuff and break the balance with every update
Bugs from 2013? Ha, they might fix them this decade
One of the voice-overs, and founders, left the game(angry), so no more voice-lines for that character, until they find a replacement
Took them around two years to start giving people support on their OFFICIAL AND ONLY Steam forum
Only have a 32-bit OS? That's too bad, guess you can't play your new map now, or maybe at 5 fps
Console versions get updated once or twice and get dropped after that, then they go to the next console
This game is like a billboard for anything that can give them some money. Because who cares about story?
So go ahead, go buy the game, I am sure they will fix everything this time. The game is and was fun, but you should know what is beneath the surface and that it will bite you at some point."
For reference, I have 96 hours played in this game and I have played most of the missions avaible. I have a rank of I-74.
While my friend and I have experienced some network errors, the connection is not horrible. This is despite the fact I am connecting to a friend (who owns the DLC) with a 500 kbps upload speed.
Connecting to my server on the Dolphin Emulator showed his internet spiking to over 900ms Ping at times, so no the network is just fine for PayDay 2.
Like a previous commentor said, they are still updating the game. So in addition with the latest updates, now AI patterns actually changes up every often on stealth missions!
Yes Ai for CPU players are still horrible, but for that I would say invite some people in your game. Unless you are offline, there is no reason not too. It's not an excuse for poor game design, but it is an easily fixable issue.
Crashes? Slowdown? My same friend has a horrible Nvidia 640 gt with an Intel Dual-Core processor. He has never had slowdown or a crash since we have played together. How long has it been since you have played the game?
40Gbs is the standard for AAA games released nowadays, how is this a negative?
Yes the vehicle handling is very clunky....but you only use vehicles in a few missions at best. Not to mention if you slow down at corners properly (like with an actaul car), misssions like Car Shop should be fine for you.
I have no opinion on your anti-cheat statement as I have never had a cheater actively hurt my gameplay experience. If anything it gave me a quick laugh (despawned all the guards in Car Shop) and nothing more.
Again, for this game, aside from achievements, everything mission in the game can be played through other players.
Even then these missions aren't too expensive, and on sale these missions only cost up to $20 in total. (For every paid heist in the game, this is the calculation of the additional cost after the game released: 4+4+4+4+7+7+7+7+7+7+7+7+7
= $79*0.25 = $19.75)
Dark Souls III's first DLC expansion lasts a few hours at best for $15. How is this overpriced during a sale?
Granted they are somewhat overpriced without a sale. I however don't think someone conscious about their money would go buying the DLC without a sale though, it's not typical for an older game.
As I saw with the update to guards's AI in stealth missions, there is balencing effects being taken to improve the game. Shadow Heist, which use to be very easy, is actually somewhat of a challege now.
I have only encountered a few bugs that have not greatly affected my gameplay experience. Maybe some dumb stealth errors, but otherwise no.
I'm not saying this game is flawless, far from it, but for you to make these statements without current knowledge of the game's current reptation makes you appear biased against this game.
A lot of these seems like Nit-picks that you used as an excuse to justify for lack of enjoyment from this game. Some are somewhat valid, while others are not issues or general problems many PC games suffer from at some point it seems.
I hope you try Payday 2 again sometime and see if these claims are valid or not.
@Spoony_Tech As a person with 96 hours in Payday 2 on PC, I can say that this game is very fun with friends.
The gun-play of this game is basically a mob-rush survival campaign when only going for combat. You have your standard mooks, mid-tier mooks, and much tougher enemies to deal with in your quest for cash. Using the game's fun abilities and good coordination with your friends, these sessions can be a blast.
Then we have stealth, which while tedious, is enjoyable in it's own right. Careful attention to enemy's' movement patterns, security cameras, and available resources can lead to a successful stealth mission.
So yes it is quite fun. Yet, I would recommend playing this with a friend. Stealth is enjoyable solo, but for these horde fights, a lack of communication between players will get you killed.
If you like well designed FPS Co-op games, I wouldn't outright ignore the game just yet.
@liveswired ....then you brushed off my comment and said "get a life" after saying your comment shouldn't be offensive. I just pointed out a flaw in your logic according to my perspective. Could you please be less whimsical and more respectful?
I don't think $50 more is worth it for 56 Gbs.....
This price went up $5 from the $73 it was previously, which I found a couple of months ago before when Nintendolife published their prior article on Micro SD cards.
As you can see here, those fake Flash Drives (and by correlation Micro SD cards since they are both Flash memory devices) have some storage...but not what is advertised. Then what is said to be 30gbs is only storing 5gbs and your game might be corrupted due to missing that storage.
I would suggest plugging it into a PC, and store enough videos to house the remaining storage you have on that micro SD card.
Then play the video through and make sure all the video is there. You could use VLC to speed it up, just don't go too fast to where you wouldn't notice a missing section of the video.
@liveswired .....I think saying that is highly disrespectful to those in high positions. These people take hard college classes for something they are passionate for and their opinion is held high in a relevant situation. If I had a problem with a project that I am trying to make with a mechanical problem, as an upcoming Electrical Engineer student I would ask a Mechanical Engineering student for help. I hope you can see these differences someday and would try not to stereotype different kinds of people.
Hmm.......I would buy it if it was under at least $40, more so around $30ish USD. But for $75 or $130? This is a waste of your money unless you can't carry around a slim powerbank and a stand.
Not counting tax or shipping, That's $33. I hope they have more to offer than just appealing to a niche audience. I guess the 2 cards for your games is nice (or just have a separate game case) and having 2 charging ports is fine. But if one of those port's male or female ends are damaged, say goodbye to your case. Same thing happened with my battery case I had for my original 3DS. Waste of money.
@CollinRoche Ah, yeah I wish NinendoLife contained more relevant information then. Thank you for the clarification.
A simple sleep mode toggle, using some button combination (or just a black and white screen with the combination shown) would easily fix this problem if your console did overheat while being shifted around in your bag. I guess I'll have to add on a carry case to my already planned $500+ expenses to buy the switch -_-.
Nintendo, presuming they included some form of temperature measurement in the Switch's die (which since the video I linked showed a max temperature limit around 60C), should like you said provide additional coding to limit the temperatures of the switch to the lowest it can provide. Though I hope this wouldn't affect a game's current state by despawning entities in an effort to lower the maximum output, but I don't know enough about how Nintendo's operating system works to provide speculation on that.
I hope Nintendo takes these cases to heart instead of ignoring them. They appear to have improved the dock and repaired for free left joycons with connectivity problems, but I'm still a bit put off that saves are tied to your console. I'll wait until Nintendo gives online storage or frees the user to save them as a backup. If a user such as yourself can so easily accidentally damage the Switch, I fear what I would do to it.
According to Gamersnexus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAEgP7qsfvc&ab_channel=GamersNexus the NS starts downclocking its processor around 60C outside the processor. Inside the die (ripping off the casing) may provide higher temperatures. So then....how hot does the plastic have to be to start easily bending like this?
Also no, the dock has nothing to do with the heating of the NS. It acts as a port and a charging dock, how exactly would you overheat a system that already has a hard imposed limiting temperature?
And NintendoLife.....what does an Aerospace Engineer have to do with an electronic product? Yes electronics involved a lot of physics understandings...but an Electrical Engineer works in this field. Why wouldn't you ask a person like that instead? Your logic makes no sense.
@NEStalgia Exactly. That's why I bought a power PC to go along with my Wii U. A powerful PC just makes more sense in the long run. "Can you afford to wait a year or more for a popular AAA game and get it 75% off on Steam?" if so then congratulations, that $800+ PC you made or bought will pay itself off pretty quickly! Meanwhile I made the budget considerations for buying an NS with all the peripherals I want and Zelda BotW and it came to be $510-540. It should be at most $400 or around that. That's for one game. I'm only interested in quality Nintendo games and if my PC can play the best versions of these games (and portable with a Laptop)....why buy the NS version? What is the point? And one year later the port of a AAA game on NS will still be full price and half off on Steam!
Not to mention Nintendo really kicked me hard when they gave me a birthday "present" of 25% off games I mostly had, $5-7 eShop games, or $30+ games I am skeptical of buying. "Hmm $25 Super PMD or wait for Dark Souls III to be $30 or less." It's obvious to me what I want to wait for.
I'm going to boycott the NS until I have word that Online game saves or some hacker finds a way to save the data to the Micro SD card. I don't want to loose all my data due to dropping the NS. Crappy ports and low selections of appealing games will only get you so far.
@Syrek24 Correction. The most qualified for the job should have their job. Unless personal views affect the company negatively (which in this game did with a popular Youtuber and I understand their decision on this) this is no grounds to fire a person. It might be fodder if the boss hated that person, but the boss won't do it until they slip up (source: MY DAD. Not racist in any means, but pissed off his boss. So the boss waited for an excuse to fire him). Did you watch his response video? I don't sub to the guy or watch JonTron but a few times on a whim. Yet I can tell when someone is acting condescending in an unjustified and biased way.
Please don't accuse people of things they say in the heat of the moment. We all say things we regret when frustrated and this is no different.
Also this goes without saying, treat a person separate from their works. I really really hate the Youtuber Endless Jess's views and opinions. Yet I still watch his videos on his parody channel "My Japanese Animes" because they are well made and hilarious.
If you are going to respond to my comment, please respond in a civil manner (aka don't be condescending, name call, be a decent human being). If I came off as condescending, I did not intend too. I wanted to question a stance that seems very questionable and have a nice discussion, not one of these "I'm right, you are wrong" discussions. I am open to change my opinion if you incline to convince me.
@Slim1999 Graphics are a nice addition to a game in the visual compartment, but yes they do not necessarily have to be very high end. However, this is a strange situation where the graphics effects in the game are better, but the resolution is worse than the previous game. I would prefer to see gradual upgrades in technology, not the reverse.
So yes your stance on graphics being focused on too much is valid...but I don't think you should say that graphical improvements aren't needed or appreciated. It is a problem that some games like BotW have framerate drops at all. How would this bode for 3rd party developers? Would the NS get more support than the Wii U if devs see a weaker system? Would this snowball into the Wii U's dire situation?
Nintendo doesn't have to have the cutting edge, but they still need to stay relevant to other 3rd party devs, not fans.
I personally don't care as I want Nintendo systems for their first party games, and then I play AAA games on my significantly more powerful PC. I may consider FPS games since I could see the Joycons being cool "guns" or I could see the Gyroscope being useful. My situation is one that many other people are coming to the realization is needed to have the best experience with their games. If someone has a system that presents a better experience at the same price for a game....why would you pick a worse system?
@duffmmann Which is a shame. If you look past the difficulty (which gets easier as time goes on like Dark Souls nudgehttp://gamephilosophe.blogspot.com/2013/11/dark-souls-and-legend-of-zelda-ii.html) you will find a game which is very deep for just Zelda's second outing. Heck the magic, sword, and health upgrade system isn't that different from BotW's upgrade triangle when you think about it.
I would love an updated form of Zelda II! If Nintendo simply changed the map to make it less void and head-scratching, I doubt many people would have complained about the game and would be considered just as much of a classic as the original Zelda 1.
""Also what is with your condescending attitude?" Do you just entirely lack self awareness? This is legitimately bizarre and, honestly, just offensive."
This is because you are referring to me as being bizarre to you and nonsensical. Which is entirely not the case and shows you are referring to me as being lesser, hence my comment on your condescending tone.
'"I could make you stop." Weird?"
You asked what the point of me commenting was when I said you had no purpose. I said I could convince you to stop. How is this strange that I am asking you to stop?
""You'll keep this attitude up until you realize you're beating a dead horse while everyone else moves on or NL does something." Says the person who went out of their way to inject themselves into a conversation that they had nothing to do with, and then proceeded to spend the day posting several lengthy comments in response to that person. What do you think THAT is contributing to the comment section? Who is THAT helping?"
Yes I am being hypocritical, yet the same things applied to you as well. We are both at fault in this case.
""SLIGEACH_EIRE doesn't seem to care what you think." And you know that... how, exactly? Not that it matters, since I wasn't actually talking to him in the first place."
"You and that sligeach person should start a Nintendo-fan-trolling-addiction support group. It would be much more productive than your current shared fixation on antagonizing people on this site. Just a friendly suggestion "
Now you are contradicting yourself. You specifically called him out on being a troll. How is this not referring to him?
""I never intended to tell you what to do" Is that supposed to be a joke? That is literally the entire point of every single one of your comments in this thread. That's the ONLY thing you intended to do. At least be honest in your attacks on people. It's the least you can do."
My point was I was asking you to stop. Of course you could just ignore me, but I wasn't forcing to you stop. This was to clarify I was attacking your argument, not you as an individual. Of course my whole point was asking you to stop, but you misunderstood a minor comment.
""I simply wish you could add to the discussions I come here for." No, that's actually what I wish for you to do, instead of going out of your way to defend people that CLEARLY only come here to antagonize everyone."
First, the caps in "CLEARLY" again show your passive aggresive/condescending tone. Secondly, while yes gatorboi352 seems to make these comments all the time, it doesn't mean you need to address him. After a while his comments becomes a joke, not something to continually bash him for when he isn't going to change. Additionally since you lump in SLIGEACH_EIRE with him, he just is displaying his frustrations with Nintendo here. Nothing more.
Is there anything else I failed to represent to you?
@BAN Because people like you will continue these comments with heated debates. Don't add fire to fire. Also what is with your condescending attitude? No one here is objectively better than anyone else. I simply hate it when people have to point out somthing and rant about it when it does nothing. SLIGEACH_EIRE doesn't seem to care what you think.
No I'm not wasting my time, as people like you could be adding to the discussion, rather than bash a person for more than a 4th of these comments. I could make you stop. You'll keep this attitude up until you realize you're beating a dead horse while everyone else moves on or NL does something.
I never intended to tell you what to do, I simply wish you could add to the discussions I come here for.
@BAN Or...you could ignore them and not lower yourself to their level of bashing..
Just stop. They aren't going to quit and you are only inciting arguments. They bother you? Then why don't you take apart the thousands of similar comments on Youtube videos that content creators get everyday? Don't waste your breath. Let the producers of the article fight them if they deem it necessary instead of choosing to be the ambassador of talking down to them.
I think constructive criticism is a good thing, but not really biased pandering. I often see SLIGEACH_EIRE offering both, so I don't know why people ignore his other comments...
Can we drop the rage in the comments? I want to see discussion, not pointless fighting. @BAN SETTLE DOWN!
If you have a problem with him, ignore him or message him individually. Don't make a mess here please.
Also according to NL's rules "When replying to a topic, don't; unless you have something meaningful to say or something that will contribute to the discussion."
"Do not harass other users, up to and including site staff and contributors."
@cj80 Yeah, and that's the same reason I will not buy an ASUS IPS monitor, out of fear of buying a $700 gaming monitor, getting some dead pixels, and then having the Asus representative say "oh, there is nothing wrong with this" At least Acer will consider it a defect and give me my money back!
Dead pixels are a defect. Anything electronic that is being produced should be identical in quality to the units that reviewer like NintendoLife gets. "Cherry-picked" systems do exist..and a functioning system is more likely to have a higher rating by reviewers. So....I don't really trust NintendoLife when they say "oh for us this is a non-issue".
On a side note, I will indefinitely put off my purchase of the NS until someone finds out how to hack into the system and allow users to place their save data on their micro-sd cards for achieving. Even if cloud-based storage will come, it is not a means to an end. Just like with how the DS and Wii games wifi ended, killing some of the appeal for games like Pokemon B&W2, the possible cloud storage will end. Then what will I do if no one found out how to unlock the storage? "Oh well, I had a good run?"
Simply unexcusable. Thankfully I can get BotW on the Wii U and nothing is coming out in the near future that entices me to the switch. Not to mention buying the NS and everything I want (NS+Screen Protector+Pro Controller+Stand+Hybrid Cover+BotW [assuming I don't get the Wii U version] + 200gb micro-sd card) costs about $530.
@ThanosReXXX Then I was wrong and I am sorry for that. Though it says something when I am only interested in Zelda BotW so much I didn't see the difference.
And I hope the switch will be able to keep the 1080p resolution for TV mode. Even at 900p, BotW chuggs during some sections. Not promising for a brand new console, especially one that was heavily optimized by Nintendo for the system...
I imagine this won't be a problem in most Nintendo games, but for lazy 3rd party devs...we may see some heavy graphical downgrades compared to other console counterparts. 30 fps will probably be the norm like the other consoles.
Though really I shouldn't complain...I have a powerful PC for a reason. I'll pick up the Nintendo Switch when it has at least 5 games I want, or until Xenoblade 2 comes out.
To get everything I want for the NS now (NS, + Pro-controller + Screen protector + BotW + Micro SD Card 200GB) would be $527 and I don't feel that purchase would be justified at this current time....
1080p? I'm pretty sure the switch outputs on TV mode at 900p which is then upscaled to 1080p. Saying the visuals are 1080p is sort of misleading here....
I think I'll wait until I play the game myself. When I see this amount of praise for a new game, I get the feeling something is being overlooked.... like how Sticker Star ended up but on a lesser scale. I know this should go without saying but if you are a Zelda fan you will enjoy this game. Because of this....I feel most reviewers who are fans of Zelda will praise this game.
How do sites who generally dislike Zelda games rate this game? How is a person new to gaming going to respond to this game?
I like that Nintendo is getting a lot of good publicity...but no game is perfect. Oh well...I guess I won't see that for a while; my backlog is taking up all of my time as it is.
This is why I never have linked my credit card to Google Play. So I will have a wall to go over instead of that tempting "single press" which would end up wasting my money....
I fell victim to Overwatch loot boxes and I won't be fooled again!
@rjejr Corrin is the main protagonist of FE Fates. He/she is the character you can openly customize to look how you want and set their stats. Essentially, Corrin is another overpowered Lord like Robin (not classified as, but might as well be in stats) was in Awakening.
If you haven't played a FE game, Fates is a great place to start!
@WOLF13 Yes, but what are you going to do when the PS5, PS6, etc comes out? What if one of those systems drops friends only chat? Using a smartphone (or PC like I do) is a better solution as you almost always have it running along side your console. Yes that is a big assumption to make, but games like Splatoon and others (not familiar with PS games sorry) don't utilize game chat.
That is unless your friends want to keep their PS4 on for just the voice chat in an unrelated/other voice chat service like Skype. Do what you want, but I think a somewhat-future proof solution like that is better than constantly updating platforms.
@Lord Got a smartphone? Get Skype for your phone, link details with who you want to chat with, and boom you have voice chat. Unless you want to chat with rude strangers....
@gaga64 Thank you. Yeah this review seemed more like a brief overview of the game. I usually ignore these reviews as reviews on any number scale often massively vary from reviewer to reviewer, such as the person who reviewed the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, whom I'm convinced the reviewer dislikes the series as a genre itself. I believe one line complained how the rogue aspect made all the randomly placed floors seem generic. This is a trapping that effects the entire genre to a degree, not just PMD.
Not to mention they gave a 9/10 to Persona Q, a game I quickly got bored of. Along all my friends that are fans of Persona call it a lackluster spinoff, plus most of the Persona community . I think 4 separate reviews of each game (in a more select pool of games) like CoroCoro does would be far more valuable than these reviews.
@Nintendian And yet I remember another video from DigitalFoundary showing how how many Gigaflops a graphics card has isn't indicative of it's performance.
Not to mention that Nvidia is typically better with optimizing drivers with Directx11 than AMD, because they invested a LOT of money into Directx11. So if Nvidia handles drivers like they do with PC games (assuming the games use Directx11) then I think we will see a big boost in performance.
Just wait for the benchmarks on games to come out. Knowing the specs doesn't mean the system will definitely more or less powerful, it means you have a general range of power for the system. And don't forget...the Switch is primarily focused on being mobile with a 720p display, not 1080p. Sacrificing that resolution boosts performance quick a bit.
@owendershot I fully agree that Xenoblade is an amazing game, it's my favorite game of all time! Yet....the port only brings portability and some nice trinkets in music and models, along with worse visuals and music that can't fully play on the New 3DS. I played through it about 100% (got all the best rewards, beat super bosses, didn't do the ridiculous achievements like kill 10,000) and yet I still felt the Wii experience was the best one.
Not to mention that this is a list for the 3DS, if a user here just found out about Xenoblade 3D and found out he/she couldn't play it, they would have to buy a N3DS for 1 game...which most people won't do.
@JaxonH Then I interpretated that wrong. Sorry I got that confused. Yes my wording "dead wrong" was rude, but you shouldn't try to be rude to me in return by calling me an idiot. That was uncalled for.
"Maybe do a little more research before you start giving knee-jerk reaction's about things you know nothing about. " I did. About 20 minutes worth looking up all those games on Wikipedia. I wanted to make a rebuttal to something that wasn't there, but I did care enough to research.
I'll drop my knee-jerk reactions if you try to convince me not too while not being condescending to me. Have a good day....
@JaxonH All the games you listed as being amazing for the PS4 are either exclusives or games already on the PC, most of which being the latter. People call it a poor man's PC because it's true, without those exclusives you love, you have nothing but a PC that you don't have to fiddle with. Continue loving your games, the argument here was hardware related, not software related. And if you can afford a PSVR, you can afford a PC.

"I didn't go and count every single game in the list but all I know is that I have a crap load of exclusive games on PS4 that aren't on PC, or the PC version sucks sorry so buggy you can't even play it."
Next time count. You were dead wrong. I looked all of these up on Wikipedia. Exclusives are what you are praising and most of that PS only list was PSVR.
@Dirty0814 Ehh.....wrong. PC games uses more than 4GBs of Ram all the time. It just depends on how much the developer wants to use so you don't bottleneck a game. Minecraft at minimum settings uses only like 20% of the ram allotted to it most of the time, but during big spikes of information? Yes, Minecraft will be capped by that amount of ram. If companies didn't say that games like Deus Ex need 8 gbs minimum when only using 6gbs usually, users would complain about performance issues and that would cost the company money.
Additionally, the higher amount of texture resolution you have, the larger amount of ram you need. Using fan-made 8k resolution textures for Xenoblade Chronicles on the Dolphin sucked up about 6-7GBs when usually it would only be like 2 GBs for me.
I don't know where you heard that game only need 4 gbs, but that's wrong. The NX arguably doesn't need it, but most modern games DO NEED IT!
@GoldenGamer88 You know.....one or two spoilers aren't bad.... In the end, the act of hearing the spoiler usually has the effect when seeing it in the game. Past a certain point, then it becomes a problem, but not this.
To me it matters how that spoiler is lead up to, or at least in a story (which could be similar to a reveal in gameplay).

Re: Chicken Wiggle Will Cost $15 On The 3DS eShop
Re: Nintendo Switch Sales Surge Past A Million In Japan
I have a question if anyone can answer me. If the Switch is not region locked...what is stopping people from buying online from a country with a favorable currency exchange rate and getting it cheaper there? Is this not possible/allowed? I remember people buying Japanese Amiibo because they weren't as expensive over there.
Also I went into my local Walmart in the U.S. recently and saw a Switch behind their glass cabinet. There are possibly more in their warehouse. So no, I think these stock issues are only in specific areas.
Re: Take a Look at The Nintendo Switch Pocket Dock SP
This DIY shows how easy it is to make a dock.
Re: Review: Cave Story+ (Switch)
Re: Pictlogica Final Fantasy Is Picross With Chocobos, And It's Coming To 3DS
Not sure about the free-to-play style (Pokemon Shuffle made me weary with a massive halt to gameplay), but I hope this game is a fun Final Fantasy spin-off like Theatrythm: Curtain Call is!
Re: Capcom Kicks Off a Massive Sale on the North American Wii U and 3DS eShops
@crackafreeze I tried 3U after playing Generations...and it wasn't pleasant for me. The older games are by no means bad...but feels more clunky compared to the latest iteration. It's like playing the better sequel and then not appreciating the older game you would have liked otherwise...
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is Still Due to Arrive in 2017, Which is Nice
Re: Random: Some People Will Go To Great Lengths To Bring Pokémon Games Back From The Dead

Re: Payday 2 Announced For Nintendo Switch
@CTMike $20 during a frequent 75% off sale. Heists you don't actully need to buy to play as you can join someone that has the heists. Yeah, totally going to need a payday....
Re: Payday 2 Announced For Nintendo Switch
@Oldbeardo $20 for all the additional heists during a steam sale. That's it. Don't blow this out of proportion.
Re: Payday 2 Announced For Nintendo Switch
Re: Payday 2 Announced For Nintendo Switch
Re: Forget Scratched Screens And Joy-Con Problems, "Warp-Gate" Is The New Nintendo Switch Issue
@liveswired ....then you brushed off my comment and said "get a life" after saying your comment shouldn't be offensive. I just pointed out a flaw in your logic according to my perspective. Could you please be less whimsical and more respectful?
Re: Check Out These Limited Time Micro SD Card Deals From Amazon
Heads up, Amazon has a $78 200GB Micro SD card here. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-200GB-Micro-SDSDQUAN-200G-G4A/dp/B00V62XBQQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488935891&sr=8-1&keywords=SDSDQUAN-200G-G4A&th=1
I don't think $50 more is worth it for 56 Gbs.....
This price went up $5 from the $73 it was previously, which I found a couple of months ago before when Nintendolife published their prior article on Micro SD cards.
Re: Check Out These Limited Time Micro SD Card Deals From Amazon
@lemonjellydude I wouldn't be so sure....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kix3JKn08OU&t=1s&ab_channel=GamersNexus
As you can see here, those fake Flash Drives (and by correlation Micro SD cards since they are both Flash memory devices) have some storage...but not what is advertised. Then what is said to be 30gbs is only storing 5gbs and your game might be corrupted due to missing that storage.
I would suggest plugging it into a PC, and store enough videos to house the remaining storage you have on that micro SD card.
Then play the video through and make sure all the video is there. You could use VLC to speed it up, just don't go too fast to where you wouldn't notice a missing section of the video.
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For 12th April - Focused on Splatoon 2, ARMS and More
@Dakt Make sure the Hooligan Sisters get what they deserve!
Re: Forget Scratched Screens And Joy-Con Problems, "Warp-Gate" Is The New Nintendo Switch Issue
Re: SwitchCharge Is A Case Which Gives Your Nintendo Switch 12 Hours Of Stamina
Hmm.......I would buy it if it was under at least $40, more so around $30ish USD. But for $75 or $130? This is a waste of your money unless you can't carry around a slim powerbank and a stand.
Want an example? Tomshardware.com recommends this powerbank currently on sale for $20
https://www.amazon.com/ALLPOWERS-External-15600mAh-Portable-Technology/dp/B00M1LVCG2?tag=bom_tomshardware-20&ascsubtag=site:thus|tid:14191491435840548
It has 3000 extra mAh.
Additionally the stand NintendoLife recommended is $13 https://www.amazon.com/Compact-Playstand-Nintendo-Switch-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01N9RTMWS?tag=nintlife00-20
Re: Forget Scratched Screens And Joy-Con Problems, "Warp-Gate" Is The New Nintendo Switch Issue
Re: Forget Scratched Screens And Joy-Con Problems, "Warp-Gate" Is The New Nintendo Switch Issue
According to Gamersnexus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAEgP7qsfvc&ab_channel=GamersNexus
the NS starts downclocking its processor around 60C outside the processor.
Re: Hearthstone On Switch Is "A Good Discussion Worth Having", According To The Game's Designer
Re: The Yooka-Laylee Rap Tries to be the Best and Worst Thing All at Once
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Breaks Down the Resolution and Framerate in Splatoon 2
Re: Editorial: After The Bold Brilliance Of Breath Of The Wild, Where Can Zelda Go Next?
@duffmmann Which is a shame. If you look past the difficulty (which gets easier as time goes on like Dark Souls nudge http://gamephilosophe.blogspot.com/2013/11/dark-souls-and-legend-of-zelda-ii.html)
you will find a game which is very deep for just Zelda's second outing.
Re: Nintendo Fixes the Left Joy-Con Problem with a Small Piece of Foam
@BAN
""Also what is with your condescending attitude?"
Do you just entirely lack self awareness? This is legitimately bizarre and, honestly, just offensive."
This is because you are referring to me as being bizarre to you and nonsensical. Which is entirely not the case and shows you are referring to me as being lesser, hence my comment on your condescending tone.
'"I could make you stop."
Weird?"
You asked what the point of me commenting was when I said you had no purpose. I said I could convince you to stop. How is this strange that I am asking you to stop?
""You'll keep this attitude up until you realize you're beating a dead horse while everyone else moves on or NL does something."
Says the person who went out of their way to inject themselves into a conversation that they had nothing to do with, and then proceeded to spend the day posting several lengthy comments in response to that person. What do you think THAT is contributing to the comment section? Who is THAT helping?"
Yes I am being hypocritical, yet the same things applied to you as well. We are both at fault in this case.
""SLIGEACH_EIRE doesn't seem to care what you think."
And you know that... how, exactly? Not that it matters, since I wasn't actually talking to him in the first place."
"You and that sligeach person should start a Nintendo-fan-trolling-addiction support group. It would be much more productive than your current shared fixation on antagonizing people on this site. Just a friendly suggestion "
Now you are contradicting yourself. You specifically called him out on being a troll. How is this not referring to him?
""I never intended to tell you what to do"
Is that supposed to be a joke? That is literally the entire point of every single one of your comments in this thread. That's the ONLY thing you intended to do. At least be honest in your attacks on people. It's the least you can do."
My point was I was asking you to stop. Of course you could just ignore me, but I wasn't forcing to you stop. This was to clarify I was attacking your argument, not you as an individual. Of course my whole point was asking you to stop, but you misunderstood a minor comment.
""I simply wish you could add to the discussions I come here for."
No, that's actually what I wish for you to do, instead of going out of your way to defend people that CLEARLY only come here to antagonize everyone."
Re: Nintendo Fixes the Left Joy-Con Problem with a Small Piece of Foam
Re: Nintendo Fixes the Left Joy-Con Problem with a Small Piece of Foam
@BAN Or...you could ignore them and not lower yourself to their level of bashing..
Just stop. They aren't going to quit and you are only inciting arguments. They bother you? Then why don't you take apart the thousands of similar comments on Youtube videos that content creators get everyday? Don't waste your breath. Let the producers of the article fight them if they deem it necessary instead of choosing to be the ambassador of talking down to them.
Re: Nintendo Fixes the Left Joy-Con Problem with a Small Piece of Foam
I think constructive criticism is a good thing, but not really biased pandering. I often see SLIGEACH_EIRE offering both, so I don't know why people ignore his other comments...
Can we drop the rage in the comments? I want to see discussion, not pointless fighting. @BAN SETTLE DOWN!
If you have a problem with him, ignore him or message him individually. Don't make a mess here please.
Also according to NL's rules "When replying to a topic, don't; unless you have something meaningful to say or something that will contribute to the discussion."
"Do not harass other users, up to and including site staff and contributors."
Re: Feature: We Grade the Various Nintendo Switch Launch Complaints from the Web
Re: Review: Fast RMX (Switch eShop)
@Sveakungen ThanosReXXX already told me this and I apologized....
Please look at the prior conversation.
Re: Review: Fast RMX (Switch eShop)
Re: Review: Fast RMX (Switch eShop)
1080p? I'm pretty sure the switch outputs on TV mode at 900p which is then upscaled to 1080p. Saying the visuals are 1080p is sort of misleading here....
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
@diaverik Co-op games have to be linear? Like Dark Souls? ;D
Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Microtransaction Prices and Early Impressions Emerge
This is why I never have linked my credit card to Google Play. So I will have a wall to go over instead of that tempting "single press" which would end up wasting my money....
I fell victim to Overwatch loot boxes and I won't be fooled again!
Re: NieR: Automata Designer is Open to the Idea of a Switch Port
A change is needed for this article: Nier:Automata is coming to PC and has been confirmed for quite a while now...
Want proof? How about the pre-purchase page on Square Enix's website?

Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards
A quick look on Google Shopping brings up this
https://secure.bestdealbuys.us/cart.php?q=6998620
$87.99 + $14.56 shipping = $102.55
This might be only in the US. A great price for any upcoming switch owner.
Re: Talking Point: What We Hope to See in the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct
@rjejr Corrin is the main protagonist of FE Fates. He/she is the character you can openly customize to look how you want and set their stats. Essentially, Corrin is another overpowered Lord like Robin (not classified as, but might as well be in stats) was in Awakening.
If you haven't played a FE game, Fates is a great place to start!
Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details
Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details
@Lord Got a smartphone? Get Skype for your phone, link details with who you want to chat with, and boom you have voice chat. Unless you want to chat with rude strangers....
Re: Review: Back to Bed (Wii U eShop)
Re: Review: Back to Bed (Wii U eShop)
@gaga64 I would have liked too see your comment as well. Guess Nintendolife hates free speech -_-
I just hope Alex isn't shadowbanning everyone he dislikes on their YouTube channel.

Re: NVIDIA is Named the Yahoo Finance Company of the Year
@Nintendian And yet I remember another video from DigitalFoundary showing how how many Gigaflops a graphics card has isn't indicative of it's performance.
Re: Feature: 10 Essential 3DS RPGs
Re: Nintendo Switch to Reportedly Include 4GB of RAM
Re: Nintendo Switch to Reportedly Include 4GB of RAM

Re: Nintendo Switch to Reportedly Include 4GB of RAM
Re: Data Miners Find More New Monsters In Pokémon Sun And Moon Demo
@GoldenGamer88 You know.....one or two spoilers aren't bad....
In the end, the act of hearing the spoiler usually has the effect when seeing it in the game. Past a certain point, then it becomes a problem, but not this.
To me it matters how that spoiler is lead up to, or at least in a story (which could be similar to a reveal in gameplay).
