Re: Valve Confirms It Contacted Nintendo About Dolphin Emulator Coming To Steam

FightMikes

So I have a question. So many are defending this, and saying it’s for preserving the games. I have Starfox Adventures for Gamecube, have had the disc for multiple years. I can emulate that easily since I own it.
I also want to play Starfox assault, but I lost it like, 15-16 years ago. In the spirit of preservation. I can download this game because I bought it and owned it in 2005. That’s how this works right?

Re: Nintendo Allegedly Targets Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Multiplayer Mod In Latest YouTube Takedowns

FightMikes

@Gamergirl94 Sega threatens legal action if you stream Persona passed a certain point.

Altus/Segas guidelines are way more aggressive than Nintendos.

On the convo though, seems to be something this YouTuber isn’t mentioning, namely the ad rev he was making off of this. This also encourages pirating the game. Whether it’s old, or everyone has bought it. Someone out there is going to pirate it to play this way

Re: Video: You Can Improve Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's Performance Yourself

FightMikes

@HXLXIII based on the comments before you. You should hate the game, consider it the worst product in Nintendo history and condemn buyers for experiencing that bad experience.

All seriousness though, I bought it after seeing the hate for this game (there’s ALWAYS hate for this franchise) and decided I could just get a refund thanks to Nintendolife, and have had the most FUN I’ve had in a Pokémon game. So much fun that I took it to a families house over the Holidays, and now bought 4 more copies to give to my nieces and nephews, because they were having FUN.

Anthem was a great polished glitch free game that was boring and flopped. GF for sure needs to fix some issues, but the game is far from unplayable and a lot of fun which is the point? Sad it’s being farmed for clickbait (I clicked too)

Re: Frustrated Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Players Are Reportedly Getting Refunds

FightMikes

Thanks everyone angry about this game. The hate toward GF was SO bad that I decided to get this game after I was initially uninterested. Knowing I could get a refund was great. And this game has blown my expectations (I was expecting the worst) outside of the frame rate issues with father off NPCs this game has been fantastic.

Sucks that it’s so glitchy, I miss the classic wonderfully QA’d pre internet games like GTA 3 and Vice City where you randomly phase through the ground and fall to your death to the water under the map. Or having to reset the launch edition of GTA SA due to the disc not reading. That Swingset was something else too. Smash Bros melee was great too, when a character was so broken that his shield was inside of his body and didn’t actually do anything. Luigi’s mansion had some great performances hiccups too. The good old days…..

Re: Nintendo Slammed For Its Stance On Super Smash Bros. At 2022 Streamer Awards

FightMikes

@BabyYoda71 Mang0 created the Melee game, licensed all the characters, and coded the bug fest that allows it to be the strongest competitive Smash game next to ultimate. Oh wait.....

In all seriousness. I like Hboxs content, I think generally his heart is in the right place. But these Smash People need to read the room. MULTIPLE sexual harassment allegations including one (while was shot down for how ridiculous it was) against Hbox himself. You also have top Smash players advocating pirating and hacking the Ultimate game to "Save it's online" ,constantly bashing the developer of the game, and fighting against Nintendos own classification of the game(Party game, not fighter).
You can argue some of these things, like Ultimates lackluster online and netcode. But why would Nintendo want to pour money and support anyone above?

Re: Steam Deck Nintendo Emulation Videos Are Being Pulled From YouTube

FightMikes

@BrintaPap so when you buy it and install the legal emulator, you’re saying you’re gonna buy every Switch game you play?(if you are that upstanding citizen, awesome you own it so do what you want with it) it’s not you Nintendo is worried about
Having an emulator is legal sure, obviously it’s what you do with the emulator that is the illegal part.
It’s like walking into a bank with a full mask on, a gun and a big empty sack and when the cops show up “but nothing I did was illegal”

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Raises The Question - How Much Do Janky Graphics Matter?

FightMikes

Not the prettiest game, also not a ps2 title. Seems like people view the ps2 better than it was. The game for sure is no graphical masterpiece and looks no where near as good as other Nintendo first party titles. But, they made huge strides since the Sword and Shield on the distance Pokémon spawn (a good 100 feet away vs the half a foot they gave in Sw/Sh) the UI and the mechanics are much stronger than i expected. Glad they focused on making it work rather than making it pretty

Re: Smash Bros. Ultimate's Spirit And Tournament Events Appear To Be Winding Down

FightMikes

@CharlieGirl it feels like the end of an era. I think they are moving on from the first half of the Switches life cycle to the second. A lot of Pillars from the first 4 years are either going dark with major updates (Smash, Animal Crossing) being updated(BoTW, Pokemon, NSO/ SM35 content, Splatoon) or just being replaced by other IP(Kirby, Metroid Prime(one day) Advance Wars) seems like Nintendo is turning its eyes to the future with new titles and optimized(botw 2, Splatoon 3,Pokémon Legends, hopefully MK9 and another 3D Mario) sequels

Re: Soapbox: The Switch Online Expansion Pack Is Great Value – If You Love Animal Crossing

FightMikes

@SpaceboyScreams classic case of Nintendo trying to be Nintendo and over complicate something simple, then falling flat on there face.
Should’ve been closer to the Xbox/PS model. $40/year or something, you get classic Nintendo games, some discounts, Sega games, and dlc for these games at no extra cost(AC, Smash FP1, Splatoon, Arms) and have it separate from NSO completely

Re: Soapbox: The Switch Online Expansion Pack Is Great Value – If You Love Animal Crossing

FightMikes

@SpaceboyScreams that’s very true, we discussed that too, I doubt more than half of my group plays AC in a year as is😂 but you never know. I’m optimistic though, with the backlash Nintendo got for its pricing, hopefully it translates to them beefing up the pass even more. If anyone remembers Xbox Game Pass at the start, it was awful and almost not worth the money. Years later? I think that’s changed

Re: Soapbox: The Switch Online Expansion Pack Is Great Value – If You Love Animal Crossing

FightMikes

I think that’s a big thing a good amount of people have missed, the value of the family plan. I have two almost maxed out family plans(one for me and my fam, one for the wife and her family) ALL of them play Animal Crossing pretty often, so instead of paying for each dlc ($325) I got with everyone and decided two expansions packs were worth it($140 and some change due to discounts)
That’s the value. I still feel though…. A single person unless they love N64/Sega should probably skip this until they add more value

Re: Random: Sakurai Shows Off Printed And Framed Version Of The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mural

FightMikes

@VIIIAxel Was that confirmed? Usually they wait awhile before even mentioning Amiibo(with Ultimate). They announced the Sephiroth(with his game render) one in Soras direct. If it was confirmed that would be a bummer. But I’d assume part of the negotiations for Sora was also an Amiibo and other merchandise licensing. It would be really weird for Nintendo and Disney to go half way with a character like Sora, especially since I’m sure they’d make a killing off a Sora figure. Square only sells Sora plushies(at double the price of an Amiibo)

Re: Don't Worry, You'll Still Have Access To "Certain Things" From Animal Crossing's DLC When Your NSO Sub Expires

FightMikes

A really really rough start for sure with this new expansion. This is gonna be an interesting few months. Are they bundling multiple game DLC passes? Giving better discounts? If they came out with this and added Say Hyrule Warriors, 3 houses, Smashes fighter passes, maybe botw or Mario party ( if they get DLC) paid DLC for no cost, he’ll even just ALL first party titles, this could be a banger. But just one game? Don’t get me wrong it works for my personal use 😂😂 but for a single person Especially someone who doesn’t play AC, this isn’t worth it

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed

FightMikes

I’m wondering now, does this include the dlc for all 8 members? At first I was thinking of just buying the dlc but between the wife and little ones I have 6 accounts and they ALL play Animal Crossing a lot….. $150 for all or $80…… I’m kindle digging this pass more, if it includes more dlc it’ll pay itself off.

I think instead of boycotting or crying about it, or asking others to boycott, you should look at your financial situation. For a single person this isn’t worth it yet tbh. Family accounts? Good deal if more than 3 people play Animal Crossing

Re: Poll: What's A Fair Price For The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack?

FightMikes

Why is there so much outrage to this? Ok not a ton, but still. This service, which gives discounts, cloud saves, two classic game libraries, and a(crappy let’s be honest) online service for $5 more than Xbox Ultimate costs a month. Let’s not for get the family plan which is the real deal. $35/year for 8 people would only get 2 people ultimate for a month.
I do hope that they add more than just N64/sega games for extra money though. Maybe a messaging system? Join game option? Maybe that Xbox relationship can finally help them with stable online 😅😅

Re: Consumer Advocacy Group Calls Out Nintendo For Joy-Con Drift Ahead Of Switch OLED Launch

FightMikes

@ZeldaGoat hurts the argument? That comment actually hurts more than helps, I’ve had my day one launch joycons. One drifts while the other doesn’t, I’ve gone through like 5 Xbox remotes for random reasons(sticks break, crappy usb a charge port) not everyone has the issue. If everyone truly had the issue it would’ve been a huge deal, none of my family has mentioned drifts, there are more broken switches than broken joycons in my family 😂

Re: Review: Pokemon Unite - Pokémon Divides In Free-To-Start MOBA

FightMikes

@adamatsu I’m wondering how too, even with items fully upgraded the damage output is only 8 or so % different. Nothing major. In a lot of the videos I’ve seen people are either over leveled or they land a crit which is fair. No matter how much money you spend you have to implore some strategy to win

Re: Review: Pokemon Unite - Pokémon Divides In Free-To-Start MOBA

FightMikes

I’m surprised I’m into this game as much as I am, I don’t see the pay to win aspect much though if at all. There are obviously some spending money(that pirate Cinderace screams “I spent $100 plus on this game”) but I’ve never felt severely disadvantaged going up against them, it actually seems that they are the most aggressive that get caught up and lose. The communication needs a lot of help though, a good team can beat anyone spending cash on this game.
