Gamescom 2020 - like everything else this year - might have been cancelled in real life, but in the digital world, the show will go on. The preparations for this event have already begun - with numerous companies now confirming their attendance.
Some of the bigger partners that will be making an appearance include Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Koch Media, Sega Europe, Ubisoft and team Xbox. Some other notable companies in attendance include Bossa Studios, Curve Digital, Dotemu, Merge Games and Strictly Limited Games.
While Nintendo has shown its support for Gamescom in previous years, it will not be participating in this upcoming online event. Nintendo's silence is excruciatingly annoying and if they keep this up they simply cannot compete with next-gen, undoing all the work they have done so far. Animal Crossing isn't gonna carry them forever
Maybe Sega will officially announce the rumored Super Monkey Ball game.
I wonder what EA will deliver on presentation ? 🤔
Another Expansion pack for The Sims 4 or perhaps a teaser of The Sims 5 ?
Anyway, i'm waiting for at least 1 or 2 another cute / kiddie games from the presentation after ACNH.
Nintendo may be a no show, but I’m still excited to see what games will be heading to Switch.
That’s actually a big lineup.
Finally Windjammers 2 news from Dotemu? Literally no news after the announcement of being delayed into 2020 from last September.
@TheAwesomeBowser Exactly, I'm sure we will have some announcements soon..
They publically said that they realised the game droughts for the Wii U were unacceptable, in my view they now certainly need to step up to finish the second half of the year well...
@TheAwesomeBowser hopefully they are keeping their cards close to their chest to wait and see what the competition is doing before unleashing 100 rock and poison pikmin on them (and a shed load of other games).
I wish more partners would be involved in this, in a context where any sort of industry needs support. Game shows are part of this industry and I wonder which ones will survive this.
Hope some games for switch will be announced at games on, but not expecting anything right now
I love how confident Nintendo is. They live their vision, truly independent. God of Games.
So either Nintendo has all the aces in their hands and just waiting or they actually have nothing at all.
@TheAwesomeBowser Nintendoomed XD
My only hope from that list are from Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Koch Media, Sega Europe.
Bethesda on a release date for Doom Eternal.
EA on the list of missing games they said they have planned.
Sega on anything 😂
Bamco and Koch on new releases for the Switch.
Also, some games from smaller developers.
Obligatory hype train making all stops at:
EA - Mass Effect Trilogy
Blizzard - Diablo 2: Resurrected
Ubisoft - Gods & Monsters
Ubisoft - Beyond Good & Evil 2
Ubisoft - Prince of Persia 6
Sega - Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Remake
Sega - The House of the Dead 1 & 2 Remake
Xbox - Battletoads (please share with Nintendo!)
Indie Arena Booth - Axiom Verge 2
Indie Arena Booth - Hollow Knight: Silksong
Indie Arena Booth - Super Meat Boy Forever
Indie Arena Booth - Playdead's new game
Indie Arena Booth - Disco Elysium
Indie Arena Booth - Hazelnut Bastille
I think Sony is the only company having a good year for games microsoft are doing just as bad as nintendo. Where as Sony have Last of Us 2 and dreams. And final fantasy 7 remake. I suppose nintendo have got xenoblade and paper mario along with the possible game of the year Animal Crossing. Although i haven't bought that but think it will be considered in the game of the year. They are not doing as bad as everyone says what with the new paper mario on its way i know one thing though that rumoured direct will come in very handy if it does happen.
@boredlizard
Possibly, though there's a good chance they'll be highlighting games from Creative Assembly since this is a European event.
Sony & Nintendo both skipping this year. This event slowly becoming less relevant like E3?
I hear Factor 5 has something big for this year...
Why is everyone freaking out about Nintendo’s silence? It’s not like they are just not going to release any other games this year. They just haven’t told us what they are releasing.
@kemosabii wow so many games and yet nothing at all. I'm surprised Ubisoft is actually bringing back prince of persia (if they do) what has it been 10 years.
