Re: The Pokémon Trading Card Game Is Coming To iPad This Year

FJOJR

I'm surprised Nintendo never followed up on the TCG released on GB with a GBA, DS and now 3DS iteration. Maybe this mobile version could be a stepping stone to that especially if there is cross-platform mulitplayer capabilities. Nintendo can even intentionally hold back features on the iOS version and promote them as exclusive to 3DS to drive sales to it.

Re: Feature: HD Remasters That Would Be Perfect for Wii U

FJOJR

I'd much rather a new F-Zero game be released than see GX be remastered. But with DLC maybe it could just be the 1st step to justify developing new levels (gameplay does not need to be fixed that's for sure). Once again I see no use for the gamepad in that scenario.

Re: Hardware Review: 8Bitdo NES30 Bluetooth Controller

FJOJR

Nintendo always seems to not realize what they have until it's too late. They are just now seriously dipping into marketing their franchises better than before. The only one they seem to do well with is Pokemon. I would love to buy new wireless GameCube or N64 controllers even if they are just novelties.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Update & DLC Scheduled for 27th August

FJOJR

I've always thought of MK8 as incomplete. It seems like they got the basics ready such as all the tracks and most multiplayer options but couldn't waste anymore time and had to release the game. Hence why battle mode is ruined because they didn't want to waste time making actual arenas. Maybe in a future update but one can only hope.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Continues to Evolve Its Hype Machine

Sakurai's trailers for Smash Bros. have been nothing but brilliance. Not only using amazing CG cutscenes that put some Hollywood studios to shame but also having unique styles such as the Kid Icarus anime involved or the CG-Anime mix of Fire Emblem. Also hopefully Sakurai's comment on Captain Falcon hints at a new F-Zero title on the way. Either way Nintendo has definitely seen an improvement since E3 with many gamers unimpressed by the X1 or PS4 onslaught of shooters, racers and sports games. Nintendo has issues still such as the Gamepad continuing to be an albatross until proven otherwise with probably the new Zelda main entry which still leaves at least another year of the thing sitting and doing nothing.

Re: Takashi Tezuka: Mario Maker Won't Move Quite Like the Original Mario Bros.

FJOJR

@SetupDisk It's a matter of preference but obviously things have improved since 1985. Honestly it would be difficult to incorporate every physics of each 2D platformer into this. But hopefully they can add SMB2 stuff such as POW blocks and throwing items and enemies, and SMB3 things like the Tanooki Suit, sliding down hills and Kuribo's Shoe. If they do make a 3DS version I hope they add a Super Mario Land 1&2 mode along with the items from those games.

Re: Meet LeapTV, The Wii Challenger in 2014

Kids aren't that stupid once they get past 4 years old. The quality of the games will determine what they want. Uninformed parents on the other hand are susceptible to buy this. If I was 8 I would not want this after seeing anything on Wii U, Xbone or PS4.

Re: Review: Mario Power Tennis (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)

FJOJR

The only thing that stopped me the 1st time this came out was the fact that they dropped the GCN-GBA link with Mario Power Tennis. A lot of missing features were cut off for both games that were featured in Mario Tennis for N64 & GBC. And once again that lack of support from Nintendo will stop me from getting this too.

Re: Iwata's Approval Rating Rises While Miyamoto's Drops Slightly

FJOJR

Iwata's E3 performance got him up a bit. Miyamoto disappointed many as Project Guard & Giant Robot both look like eShop titles or mini games that could be placed in Wii Party or Mario Party while Star Fox was not ready to be shown. In a few months I'm sure we will see what comes of those projects and if Star Fox is ready to go.

Re: Talking Point: New Ideas, Not New IPs, Are The Key for Nintendo

FJOJR

I know just making a new F-Zero with no new concept or gimmick makes it feel the same but when that sameness hasn't been seen in 10 years then just bringing it back is enough. The tech is leaps and bounds ahead of the GameCube which means that F-Zero would be an amazing showcase of the Wii U power and even online play. The Gamepad is already underused so nobody would notice.
