To me and my use case This is honestly the only acceptable answer: "Absolutely, it's bonkers. It's 2017, gaming systems should have multiple media apps" I think the toaster oven I just bought at Wal-Mart has Netflix.
Good on Nintendo. The young man had a tragic life but at least he got a moment of happiness. That will always stay with his parents getting to see him happy, really happy, one last time.
@Menchi187 hmm, remains to be seen. They didn't sell me during the Switch announce, met, but they sure did the next day. Did you even give it a chance during the Treehouse presentation the next day? Looks quite amazing to me.
You know, if Nintendo was making money hand over fist then I'd be upset. But they just aren't. They need the money. Otherwise they will become a third party developer.
You bet I wish they'd let me just pay once and continue to bring it forward. I'm looking forward to seeing what they are going to offer us. I'll whine once there is news to whine about.
@Slim1999 not really, not at all. In fact I've already created a new account, it is Nin_Dysnomia. Kind of cool having all of my Nintendo news over there and all of my other interests on my main account. I am actually really excited about it now.
I know this may sound silly, but even having a crazy nonsensical story mode like DOA or MK would also be fun. Gives you a reason to keep going and see the story. Plus even though the characters seems pretty generic, a good bit of personality to them sure wouldn't hurt.
I'm not going to fill my Facebook or Twitter accounts with a bunch of Nintendo posts that no one I know would care about. I want Miiverse. Even asking changes to Miitomo to make that a Miiverse replacement is ok.
If this is true I'm going to have to create new Faceboom and Twitter accounts for znintendo related stuff. What a stupid thing they are doing.
As for dropping Street Pass because this is a home console first, that just ,ales no sense whatsoever. This console is both. Nintendo need to let their customers decide if it is mobile or home first. Removing features to dictate which it is truely is a black eye on the company and product.
I thought this was stupid last night. But wow, after the ztreehouse demo, I can't wait to get my Hands on Arms. It really looks like the first new take on fighters since I played SF 2. Maybe 3D space movement was a big change, but this leap looks really huge. It actually looks surprisingly deep too, last night it looked like a mini game tacked on to a real game.
Wish they had named the characters instead of just being named whatever characteristics they possess. Would make for at least a nonsensical story mode no less bad than any other fighting game.
As it is, balloon head and scissor legs or whatever would just be annoying to hear or read in a story mode. Those names are better than the real ones in the game btw.
Square Enix is back with Nintendo finally? I like that the Switch games aren't retreads and actually look interesting, like there is some life left st the old company after all.
Just want KH3, don't care that it is a sequel, I must have it.
@Dakt oh ya, region free baby! I'm looking forward to this much more than the Fire Emblem Warriors game. Then I saw the fact it isn't confirmed for NA, but you restored my faith in the gaming gods!
I miss the turn based JRPGs so much. This is a day 1 for me. It sounds and looks so sullen though, I hope the game has the usual humor and crazy characters that you'd normally see in a game like this.
Ha, that slide with Switch big on top, and region locking on the bottom made it confusing when the discussion was no region locking. Like looking at one color and naming some other color.
If they are going to charge money now then they are under the gun. No obtuse friend system, voice chat everywhere (which I hate and would want system wife disabling of, but still must be there), free games monthly, real discounts for having a membership, all of these things are no longer for Nintendo to provide to us.
And it had better be there day one, so we get addicted to it all before the trial period expires and we absolutely love it and are ok with paying for it.
Wow, was really surprised in the features in those little things. Really like the attachment that makes the small shoulder buttons bigger and more useful. The new feedback system needs to be in my hands now.
Initially thought it looked bad. But then I started thinking about online play, that could really be bonkers. Especially with the haptic like feedback. Not a full price game at all, to be sure, but could be a cool little 30 dollar game or so.
Unfortunately it is looking like it will be full price according to current preorder listings.
I have been to both as well. In fact I saw Pokémon zevolutions last Saturday! I'm afraid my experience was much better, and quite frankly wholly different than yours. I saw them each at the same concert hall, and it was the same orchestra.
Both were just as big, grand and large as one another. In fact, I easily preferred the Pokémon shoe, though that could just be because I saw it a couple of days ago vs. 18 or so months ago for Zelda.
However, I can certainly saw that the shows were completely different from the way that you describe it, and I did not see any missing opportunities.
@Kirk Yes I know these things. No I don't like it. However, breaking the law does no good, it just makes them more restrictive. Changing the rules through legal means is the way to make things better.
Everyone else had responded to me with same, polite responses. Both of your replies are insulting in tone and remind me of why I hate to Post here because of the whiney and, selfish and that Nintendo owes a debt to you (remember that everyone cried that Nintendo "only" gave club members free games?). I will go back to refraining from participating here and sticking with the welcoming crowd at Nsider2. Thank you for the reminder.
@PlywoodStick I'd actually consider it a weird contract thing in this case rather than a weird law thing. But you know, it is all semantics either way.
A company must enforce their trademarks, patents and ip. They can not selectively enforce, they will lose it entirely in the US.
The only public opinion way of not having this happen is for the licensee ensure that they have the legal permission to do something before they do it. This is not The Pokemon Company's responsibility in this case.
@Boxmonkey it is always a he case. Stocks to up on rumors and then down on any news less than stellar. I'm sticking in because of Pokemon Go, I think that will be huge.
I agree to a point. You still need the smaller Mario Tennis sort of games too. Otherwise you go into the whole "there aren't very many games" mentality. While the Nintendo enthusiasts can appreciate the quality and expanding games, to get everyone else you have to have volume as well. In fact, some fans of the other onsoles don't even care about quality at all, it is all about quantity.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Wants an 'Evolved 2D Style' From His Legend of Zelda Handheld Dev Team
Four Swords and Triforce Heros type of games make much sense on the Switch. Just not to the detriment of single player though.
Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?
@gatorboi352 let me fix that for you:

I think the toaster oven I just bought at Wal-Mart has Netflix.
Re: Poll: Does Nintendo Switch Need Streaming Apps and a Web Browser, Or Is It All About Games?
Want some video viewing apps and I don't only want Twitch, but I want full Twitch support, same for Youtube.
Don't care at all about a browser.
Re: Talking Point: The State of Play - amiibo and Its Next Big Move
Need a game like Skylanders where it is centered around Amiibo to unlock the characters.

Am I the only person hearing Belieber throughout that entire commercial?
Re: Video: Tiny Cartridge Captures the Delicious Awkwardness of Milking in 1-2-Switch
@Firelork doubtful since the point is that 1 2 Switch are screenless minigames. Maybe the sequel.

@Yasume curious, you listed Zelda, Mario Odyssee and Yooka-Laylee bring must owns for the Switch, with only 1 being an exclusive. Which 2 aren't?
Re: It's Nintendo Switch Petition Time, With Miiverse on the Agenda
@JHDK sometimes people do things to keep their minds off of the things that are more important than what they are doing.
Playing video games is a good example of exactly that, btw.
Re: 1-2-Switch Looks Set To Include At Least 20 Minigames
@Sonic200012 not really. They could have included it at the same price to just, you know, help sell more units of the console.
Re: 1-2-Switch Looks Set To Include At Least 20 Minigames
Will pick it up in a few months when it halves in price.
Re: Nintendo Switch Will Be Easier To Find Than The NES Classic At Launch, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

@eltomo really? I actually thought squid guy was a highlight from most of the other stuffy presenters. EA was especially not fun.

Re: Here's Your First Look At The Nintendo Switch User Interface
@zip I wouldn't worry about the interface being too clean. That means fewer resources for the ui, more for the games.
Re: Here's Your First Look At The Nintendo Switch User Interface
@Nintendian Swiitch. Very, very clever. It actually wouldn't have surprised me if they went with that. It is trademark-able too.

@pinta_vodki Why? What Did It Not Have That You Wanted? Let's Discuss. (Why Is Everything In Caps?)
Re: Soapbox: The Switch Presentation Was Good, but Not Perfect
@Don I would imagine they didn't announce anything virtual console wise because it is an absolute certainty that it will be there.
The real question is whether it will have GameCube games.
