@WillTheLion That's not true. There is always the official image sharing site on the Wii U which lets you share screenshots to social media (https://i.nintendo.net). Next to that, if you have OneDrive, you can easily save screenshots with that on the Wii U and then sync them on your pc.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE No, there isn't. The only ones being sold on amazon.co.jp are sold at a far higher price (45,000 yen vs. the normal price of 29,980 yen), which clearly points to there being stock shortages.
Nintendo eventually won though. Phillips also sued Nintendo and wanted the Wii U out of stores, but that was because of the use of IR pointer in the Wii Remote.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Famitsu already released some numbers of the Splatoon 2 launch and according to them, Splatoon 2 sold a total of 670k units while the Nintendo Switch sold 102k. Splatoon 2 pretty much outsold every other game released on the Switch in only 3 days. (Source: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1411320)
@Kalmaro There were a number of hacks for which you needed a rooted phone in order to cheat in Pokemon Go. By using Xposed, you could mock your GPS location and a number of applications made use of this. Only after root users were blocked were the bots that didn't require root introduced.
Next to that, hiding your root has become a lot more difficult. There is only one application that let's you cloak your root for Pokemon Go at the moment and you have to continuously update it for it to keep working.
@Kalmaro They're still busy banning cheaters. There have already been 3 ban waves banning bot users and recently there was a shadowban wave that stopped bot users from catching Pokemon that aren't crap. If rooted users were allowed, there would be a lot more cheats that users can use and it would be harder for Niantic to ban these users, because rooted devices are able to make use of more complicated cheats that would be more difficult to detect.
@Kalmaro You're right that the latest bots don't need a root in order to work, but when rooted devices were still allowed to launch Pokemon Go, there were a lot of GPS spoofers than rooted users could use to catch certain Pokemon. Even now, there still are some cheats that you can only do when having a rooted device, but with rooted devices being blocked, only people who are able to cloak their root will be able to use these cheats.
@Kalmaro Cheating doesn't only cut into their revenue, it's also very unfair to users that play the game legitimately. It's almost impossible to hold a gym with bot-users automatically taking it over with 2600+ CP Dragonites. You're almost forced to use bots yourself if you don't want to fall behind.
The only thing to keep the game fair to everyone is banning cheaters and blocking potential cheaters from the game. Most people who cheat in mobile games, probably already rooted their phone for it, so blocking rooted phones from launching the game is more than justified imo.
@Kalmaro They'll never support rooted phones, because rooting your phone makes hacking and cheating a lot more easier. There already are cheaters, so allowing rooted phones to play Pokemon Go would be like adding fuel to a fire.
@liljmoore It's free to play, but probably will be filled with micro-transactions going by other F2P games. It looks very rough imo and definitely looks too much like Smash Bros. Would've been better if they tried something more innovative, because I don't think anyone will ever choose this above Smash.
@Racthet916 They never said that. They said it would be closer to 720p, not native. From what I've played so far, the game looks less blurry in handheld mode.
@Paddle1 Doesn't include an AC adapter and HDMI cable, while making it harder for air to flow through the Switch. I'd rather buy another official dock than this one (if I ever needed one).
@Jeronan @Muez No, local is with multiple Switches connected through a wireless connection. LAN is that every Switch is in the dock and they each have a wired connection to the same router.
First of all, Nintendo isn't undersupplying on purpose. Nintendo has every reason to make sure to sell as many Switches as possible in order to grow the userbase and sell more software. We already know Nintendo is competing with mobile manufacturers for parts, so there really is no reason to believe that.
Secondly, people are lining up in Japan to be in a lottery in order to buy the Switch. They can't even just buy it, they have to participate in a lottery! The Switch has been selling out in minutes and that wouldn't happen if "they would just sell a few thousands more".
You have been wrong every time about the Switch, so maybe you should stop making up stuff to suit your agenda.
@OorWullie he's talking about the color of the Switch itself (which is black), not the joycons.
I don't really find it necessary to change that color though, because it might not fit as well with the colored joycons. Maybe a white Switch, that could look good.
@impurekind You might want to read that article again, because it's been updated to say that that was mistranslated. Instead Capcom said that they are still looking at what support would do well on the Switch. They were the ones asking Nintendo to put more RAM in the Switch and are busy porting the RE engine to the Switch, so there is definitely going to be more support from Capcom after SFII. Pretty sure they're going to bring Monster Hunter and Resident Evil to the Switch, as these franchises have akways done well on Nintendo consoles.
@NewAdvent You do have a point there. Nintendo really has to update the site with Switch information so that it's clear for developers. But I don't think contacting Nintendo is the problem. It seems Nintendo (of America) just isn't interested in indie games unless they're very popular or get exclusive content for the Switch. For example, the team behind Axiom Verge contacted Nintendo, but Nintendo denied giving them a devkit.
Hopefully this is only for launch and Nintendo gives out more devkits to indie developers.
As you can see, the address was already there in the contact tab and has been there since who knows how long. How more clear and obvious can Nintendo make it? Nintendo most definitely has direct connections with big publishers, so they don't have to use this email address.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE It's still sold out, so the weekly sales will be whatever Nintendo manages to supply, which seems very little at the moment. They might be waiting for Arms before supplying more units.
@Moon It's still sold out in Japan, so the sales being low is 100% Nintendo's fault. Here is an image from Neogaf on the sales compared to other launches in Japan:
@AlbertXi Splatoon had way LESS content on day one. It had only 5 maps and 1 game mode. This game has 10 maps and 9 game modes. Next to that, this game has a lot more local multiplayer options than Splatoon ever had.
@Frosty_09 Of course not, it would be cool if they added features that make use of the gamepad. I really would have liked it if there was touchscreen inventory management and motion controlled aiming, as that would make the experience infinitely better. It's just, with there being multiple platforms that get updated regularly and simultaneously, it would be harder for them to implement these features. But you're definitely right that the game would be a lot more enjoyable. Even Cube Life used the touch screen, and it was a lot faster and easier to use than the pointer.
@Frosty_09 That's because there has to be parity between the different console versions, not because they are too lazy to implement it. The moment one of the console versions is too different from the others, it will be harder to update the versions simultaneously.
@EverythingAmiibo Where exactly is this fake news you're talking about? Nowhere do they explicitly state that and all the things in the compilation actually happened, so it isn't fake news. And they are notorious Nintendo haters? Never heard of that. They've only reported positive Nintendo news the last few months.
@apoqalypse You're really overestimating how many people will make use of this. This is most definitely going to be a niche feature, so it shouldn't impact the Switch eShop in any significant way. First of all, to use this, you'll need a powerful PC and a good network connection in order to run and stream the games, which already limits the userbase for this app. Next to that, the image quality will be worse than a native game and there will be noticeable input lag, which makes it less appealing. Lastly, you will not be able to play it everywhere as you need a constant, high-speed connection in order to run it. So yeah, it's really not going to drain the cashflow or make Switch software sales collapse or something.
@Grumblevolcano It says "with a focus on games launching in 2017" in the press release, so they could announce a few (early) 2018 games. Their last direct said it was focused on ARMS and Splatoon 2, but they talked about a lot more than just those 2 games.
@AirElephant That estimate is wrong though. When they cut the price, Nintendo was selling it at a loss, which means that the 3DS costed more than 170 dollars to make in 2011. The new 3DS and new 2DS also make use of faster CPU's compared to the old ones and other improvements. Sure, they are making a profit on these, but it most definitely isn't as big as you say. It probably costs about 100 dollars to make, as it uses big screens and includes an AC adapter and such.
@RedMageLanakyn It was for both the physical and digital version. If you had a physical version, you just needed to enter the club nintendo code with it to get the free game. Would have been nice if they done this again with the switch version, but even if they did, they don't really have a lot of games to choose from.
@Marios-love-child Yeah, you're right, it's definitely to soon to say if the switch will really be a succes, but the early signs look great. It's best to wait until after the holidays to make any real conclusions (because, as you said, it can go either way from here out). There does seem to be a lot of good buzz from the public though, so I would be suprised if it sold less than the GameCube.
Hopefully it sells well, because it's a very interesting console with a lot of potential. Especially being able to play it anywhere is awesome so it would be cool if it gets good support from both Nintendo and third parties. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess. Happy gaming!
@Marios-love-child It didn't sell "marginally better" than Wii U. It sold substantially better. The Wii U sold 425k in its launch month and 463k in december, which is a total of 888k for 2 months.
Comparing this to the switch, which sold 906k in its launch month alone, how is that "marginally better"? And we aren't even talking about holiday numbers here, while the Wii U launched just before the holidays, just in time for Black Friday and Christmas.
@Yasume You're just lying now. It's been sold out in Belgium since the end of march and isn't getting a restock until april 21. Keep trolling.
I even just looked at the sites of mediamarkt and gamemania in the Netherlands and they say they're sold out both online and in stores, so where is your proof that it isn't sold out? The only thing plummeting is your credibility.
@CB85 It's only US numbers because this is about NDP, which only covers North America. Wait until the investors meeting on april 28 for worldwide numbers.
@subpopz probably Ireland only. Here in Belgium it's sold out, but new stock is expected next month. I've also read it's sold out in UK too at the moment.
No one is going to buy it if they can't get their hands on Zelda too. I agree with you on your second point though. Hopefully the Switch gets more support, because at the moment it looks just okay.
@gatorboi352 Except the Switch will have a web application, as you can use it to connect to hotspots and Nintendo already explained that that will be possible after the day one update.
The reason that Nintendo didn't implement a browser is probably because they wanted to make the OS as lightweight as possible, so that more resources are available for games.
@jimi Nintendo isn't allowed to set a price in Europe, so they couldn't have done a price cut. The reason why it's 300 euros in France is because of a pricing war between Fnac and Amazon.fr. If it weren't for Fnac, Amazon wouldn't have dropped the price, as it is still the same price in the other european regions. So stop making up this narrative that the Switch is selling badly and that's why they had to lower the price. We won't know if the Switch is going to sell good numbers until after it has launched.
@Yasume He never even said that. He said the Switch has the POTENTIAL to sell as well as the Wii. Potential =/= that he thinks it will.
Next to that, the Switch has a far greater chance of selling close to 100 million, than selling less than the Wii U; especially if the Switch will be a platform with multiple iterations, which Reggie suggested in an earlier interview and has been brought up in the Time interview from earlier today.
@C-Olimar Didnt Rayman Legends have Mario and Luigi costumes? That game was published by Ubisoft. And more recently, we also had the Mario skin pack in Minecraft U, so Nintendo doesnt seem to have a problem with lending their IP. Maybe it depends on how popular the game will be.
@rjejr That's because those Wii games each sold at least 20 million units, which most definitely isn't the case for those Wii U games. Next to that, making Wii games take less resources than Wii U games because the Wii U had HD graphics. Nintendo themselves said that they had trouble with HD development and that's why they didn't have a lot of games ready at launch.
Even now, they don't seem to have a grip at HD, as they keep delaying their games and release small, cheap games like AC:AF to fill their schedule.
Hopefully they can get their act together once the NX releases, but if it's a hybrid like the rumours say it is, they can focus on the NX, instead of dividing their attention between two platforms, which should help.
OT: I wonder how those tournaments will work, but it looks like a cool idea

No one is going to buy it if they can't get their hands on Zelda too. I agree with you on your second point though. Hopefully the Switch gets more support, because at the moment it looks just okay.
Re: Nintendo Releases Official Switch 'First Time Use' Guide Video
@gatorboi352 Except the Switch will have a web application, as you can use it to connect to hotspots and Nintendo already explained that that will be possible after the day one update.
The reason that Nintendo didn't implement a browser is probably because they wanted to make the OS as lightweight as possible, so that more resources are available for games.
Re: Nintendo France Expects Switch To Beat Wii U's Lifetime Sales In Region By Year End
Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Outlines His Nintendo Targets, Laying the Groundwork for a Successor
Re: A Samus Costume Was Almost in the Wii U Axiom Verge Port
@C-Olimar Didnt Rayman Legends have Mario and Luigi costumes? That game was published by Ubisoft. And more recently, we also had the Mario skin pack in Minecraft U, so Nintendo doesnt seem to have a problem with lending their IP. Maybe it depends on how popular the game will be.
Re: Nintendo And ESL Team Up For Splatoon Online Tournaments In Europe
