Re: E3 2023 Will Be "A Return To Form", Promises New Production Company

DrkBndr

@Magician Microsoft, Nintendo and even Sony are still members of the ESA, so I expect them to be part of E3 one way or another. Nintendo always had a show presence with Treehouse Live being recorded at the show and always had one of the biggest booths. Microsoft had also kept planning their showcases on the usual E3 time, so they will most definitely also be part of E3. Sony remains to be seen, but since they haven't exited the ESA, there can always be a possibility they return.

Re: Edge Of Eternity - Cloud Version Launches On Nintendo Switch February 2022

DrkBndr

@JR150 All cloud games have demo versions just for that reason. Stadia also only needs 35Mbps for 4k60fps, so on Switch I expect this to be less.
Here in Europe the average internet speed is 80 Mbps and in the US it's 200 Mbps apparently, which is higher than Japan, so I don't see where you're getting that the internet infrastructure is only good enough in Japan and South Korea...

Re: New Data From Nintendo Shows The True Selling Power Of Switch's Evergreen Titles

DrkBndr

@shgamer It should be less than 4 million. The 18 million sell through only includes the US, Europe and Japan. The 22 million shipment number should include the rest of Asia and South America.

Based on that, there probably will be 2 to 3 million on shelves, which isn't that weird as they would be shipping for the launch of Super Mario Party and as preparation for the holidays.

Re: Atari Has Reached the Minimum Goal for RollerCoaster Tycoon on Switch

DrkBndr

@Octane Yes, I knew that. That's why I think they should start hiring competent developers to make their games, instead of going with developers without a track record. It doesn't have to be Frontier, just a developer that has made good games before. But the current Atari seems to be too cheap to put any effort in their games unfortunately.

Re: Rainway Beta Is Live, But There's Nothing But Disappointment For Switch Owners

DrkBndr

The beta is focused on pc browsers though and still has a lot of issues, sobthat might be the reason it isn't working atm.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE They never had any mention of the Switch on their site though. They only talked about the Switch through Twitter, which hasn't been deleted. Also, because it works through the browser, I don't think Nintendo can stop them, unless they delete the browser entirely.

Re: Rollercoaster Tycoon Could Be Coming To The Switch

DrkBndr

@YummyHappyPills The crowd funding campaign was delayed, so nobody lost money on that. But you're right that people should be iffy on this. Atari should have at least prepared a working demo on Switch to prove that they're actually working on it before starting to ask for money.

Re: Nintendo Is Announcing "A New Way To Play" Later Today

DrkBndr

@jzf69 According to sources on Resetera, there is going to be an accessory announced at the event, so a camera accessory could be possible that would add a camera to the Switch, thus making AR possible. Other Nintendo consoles also had camera accessories, such as the gameboy and the Wii, so I wouldn't count it out.

Re: Nintendo Has Reportedly Delayed the Roll-Out of 64GB Switch Game Cartridges

DrkBndr

@kobashi100 Nintendo aren't using it because they never make big games in terms of size. Their biggest game ever was Xenoblade X, which was 21 GB. For the Switch they haven't even made a game that is larger than 16 GB, so why would they use a 32 GB card?

An other example of a game on a 32 GB cartridge is Resident Evil Revelations 2, which came out in Japan on a cartridge. There probably are some other games too.

@sillygostly You probably can't download it from the disc itself, because Nintendo thought this was easier. The data in the data packs are on the disc though, because how else would you be able to play the game without downloading the packs. Next to that, the digital version was only 21 GB, which is small enough to fit on a disc and you didn't have to download the packs for the digital version.

Re: Nintendo Has Reportedly Delayed the Roll-Out of 64GB Switch Game Cartridges

DrkBndr

@sillygostly those download packs of xenoblade x had nothing to do with the disc not having enough space. Those download packs contained data that was also on the disc, but because reading from internal storage is faster, you could download those to get faster load speeds.

@kobashi100 there already are games on a 32gb cartridge, so how could they not be available? An example is the Dragon Quest Heroes 1 + 2 collection.

Re: Nintendo Switch Continues to Dominate in Japan

DrkBndr

@Mahe At this point in its lifecycle, the 3ds already received a 10.000 yen pricecut. In other words, your comparison doesn't make any sense.

OT: Great software sales, but was expecting better hardware sales for the Switch. It still sold very well, though.
