I'd love to see a new Metroid game, as long as it's not of the Prime variety. I'd rather see an Other M or classic 2D style instead.

My local gamestop only received 3 of the three-pack Splatoon, the local Target received two. Both sold out the moment the stores opened that morning.

I'm not buying their BS excuses. This is a shallow and blatant attempt to keep demand artificially high.

Is this the same comic that ran in Nintendo Power two decades ago?

I would have loved to see a sequel, but at this point I'm not sure I would touch it if Ubisoft is involved. They've burned their bridges.

Just say no to remasters and remakes. You can't move forward if you're living in the past, and it's already bad enough that we have to deal with the sequelitis and franchisement-happy groove that video games and movies are currently locked in.

I loved Super Metroid as much as anyone, but if I wanted to play it again it's already on the VC.

The Game Theorists did an entire series on Majora's Mask and origin-type stuff for it. I highly recommend anyone who's a fan of the series check it out over on Youtube.

@ Article Author: This is not unbelievably stupid; this is fairly sound marketing. The minor amount goodwill that will be lost pales in comparison to the awareness, eyeballs, and potential traffic it grabs. That it targets a market niche known to throw cash is just icing on the cake.

I'm not a fan of Let's Play type shows myself, but Nintendo's current policy in this area is a civil lawsuit waiting to happen if they're not careful.

Nothing for me this week. Imma wait and see if Prime being on the VC lowers the price of the physical copies.

I'm looking forward to Splatoon as much as I am Zelda, which is a huge accomplishment given I'm quite the Zelda fan.

Definitely my favorite puzzle game from that area. Such a fun concept!

@zionich I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels that way. The Skyward Sword controls were fantastic, and added a huge amount of immersion.

Wow, those two top ten lists are incredibly sad. Especially if you consider the fact that if you remove franchise games from them....you have two titles left (Destiny and Minecraft).

I'm really happy to hear that there'll be a customization element! Splatoon is quite possibly my most anticipated title this year (it's on par with Zelda for me), so may is a great release date.

I don't have a 3DS, but I just bought Shantae for the Wii U, so it got my vote since I missed the voting the week it was released. It balances, promise!

If my avatar didn't make it obvious, I'm super excited for Splatoon, though Zelda is close second. That entire list is great, though.

I would have waited another six months for this poll. MK8 is still within the honeymoon window, so it'll practically win by default.

For me, it would be a toss up between Double Dash and the original Super Mario Kart. However, since the question is best, I would probably give it to Double Dash - so many fantastic tracks, a proper battle mode, and very streamlined gameplay. Super MK mainly just had nostalgia and some fun tracks, not quite as numerous as DD.

There is a noticable lack of Captain Toad in this list.

Agreed. Those of who grew up with these games got used to a much steeper difficulty curve than what you see today. I remember playing this game when I was five years old; while I didn't beat the game, I was able to reach the Wily stages. But by that point I'd already been introduced to the first Mario and Zelda games, as well as Metroid, Blaster Master, and a plethora of other less than forgiving games.

Hopefully after the score is posted this site can start covering stuff other than Smash Bros. I get that it's a lot of peoples' most wanted title, but the ratio of Smash articles and features to everything else has been ridiculous the past few months.

I really wish they would axe the singleplayer aspect and use the resources to work on local multiplayer instead.

Should probably fix the title of the article - this is a Q&A, not an interview.

To all those saying that Nintendo shouldn't drop the price due to that placing it back into selling at a loss, take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Nintendo doesn't need the cash yet. What's destroying them currently is a lack of presence in the market, and strong holiday sales will help to rectify that. What's most important for Nintendo currently is grabbing market share and showing that they're still a major player in the console lineup. Profit will come automatically after that's established.

Oh....I've been waffling on whether or not to grab this for the PC, but if it's coming to the Wii U I'll definitely wait for it.

As the Princess Zelda amiibo is one of the first I intend to grab (I plan to grab Samus and Zelda first, and probably Link at some later point), I wonder if she will be compatible as well?

I hate that Zelda speedrun trick. If you're using a glitch that cuts out 95% of the game, I just don't consider it a clear.

Wow, what a complete and utter lack of any decent prospects. Somebody should send these devs the memo to let them know that the Wii U is in fact capable of handling 3D graphics.

I'm with Ix. It shouldn't be realeased at all. Because when they release DLC like this, I'm suddenly stuck with an incomplete game unless I want to fork over more $$$.

I have the Wii U and PC combo. A good gaming PC makes the PS4 and XBoxOne completely irrelevant, as it'll destroy the best the two of them can offer, while the Wii U has unique experiences you can't find anywhere else. It's the best of both worlds.

Now if they could just port this to the Wii U...the console badly needs a great RPG other than Child of Light.

For me, it's Super Mario 64, hands down. Followed by Super Mario World, then the original Super Mario Bros.

I adored ZombiU and Child of Light, but I'm pretty much done with Ubisoft at this point. I'll be skipping Watch Dogs completely due to this sort of nonsense.

It's not just backlighting - it also noticably increases the contrast, which I could tell even in the video.

Am I the only person who's first thought was "Wow, those are some really hairy arms," for many of those pictures?

Is there any indication as to whether this will be available in the US as well?

I'm pretty ok with this list. In particular, I was really happy to see Wind Waker rank so highly, though I do think it should have been swapped with A Link to the Past.

A cheap Wii bundle could make a killing in the Chinese market, but I understand the stance of letting Sony and MS throw cash at the market to figure it out before Nintendo comes in at a later point with a solid marketing plan built on their failings.

Looks like the Year of Luigi is definitely over...

If I recall correctly, the Captain Toad levels in Super Mario 3D World were some of the few that required Gamepad usage. With that in mind, it's very likely that Pro controller usage won't be an option unless there's some kind of Co-op mode.

There's zero reason why they can't implement both. We can already switch between old and new graphical styles, why not just have the movement style change to match it?
