How exactly did they do the Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary release? A new obstacle for Mother 3 in my mind is that Nintendo will obviously want to make it a nickel and dime release for western players, something that won't fly in Japan where it's already a virtual console game.

I think it’s genuinely quite refreshing. Definitely better than Fire Emblem and its ye olden setting where everyone speaks with modern day American accents.

Earthbound is an extremely influential game. Glad to see it’s finally in a position to reach a large audience.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a masterclass in localisation. The amount of slang I learned is astounding.

Nintendo may not be directly competing with other console brands buy they will nevertheless be harmed if they lose valuable third party partnerships, particularly in Japan. Capcom and Square have put some heft behind the Switch.

I enjoyed the Wii U for what it was but Nintendo could never justify the Gamepad nor communicate what made it valuable over the competition. The 3DS carried hard that generation.

This looks so good omg. I’m not usually enticed by 8 bit visuals anymore but there’s something about this that looks super authentic.

Triangle Strategy for me. 2022 is shaping up to be an incredible year. Every time I think I’ve made a mental map of everything I’m interested in, there’s always 2 other titles I’ve forgotten about.

@moodycat I‘ll meet you halfway and say I loved Metroid Dread but also got the impression it was now just one of many faces in the genre it was once THE face of. Executed phenomenally well in my opinion but also an extremely rote experience.

Until Nintendo provides us with worthwhile alternatives, these decisions will be forever worthy of criticism. Why bother putting music in your games at all if you want nobody to listen to it.

Ubisoft’s PR debacles have been far more engrossing to me than any of their games for almost a decade now.

It looks pretty off to me. I think it’s cool that they’re making the Pokémon different sizes, but this looks like they just dragged to enlarge the models and it looks weird. Like, you can tell which Mons are meant to look naturally large and which ones don’t.

I’m cautiously optimistic. Fallout New Vegas looks like utter muck and runs even worse but is one of the most engrossing open worlds in the business.

So excited for this masterpiece to be exposed to a new generation. I played the hell out of the Banjo games on my 360. Nuts and Bolts is a good game, I will not back down from this.

Activision must be in pretty dire straits if they’re in need of a buyout. The incensed comments are kind of funny. Like, capitalism doesn’t care about your fanboy loyalties.

These are objectively outclassed by the versions available on other platforms. I can’t wrap my head why the older games need to be Cloud only. A very bizarre hamstringing of what should have been an easy Switch release.

@StarPoint Agreed. I also think Sakurai’s specific vision for the series is what lead to it being the spectacular, detail rich crossover that it is. The scope for recreating that magic in Mario Kart seems more limited to me.

Excited to see what happens, despite being a bitter early adopter of Street Fighter V. All of Capcom’s major releases have been stellar the past few years (apart from maybe the Resi 3 Remake). One of the few big publishers who’s releases I approach with optimism.

Good on them for candidly dealing with it. People crying culture cancel need to sing a different tune.

So excited for this! The Messenger is amazing as well for anyone looking to brush up on the dev.

To be honest, it seemed like most of what was shown off was already in the throes of a marketing campaign. Even the Sonic reveal came on the coattails of the movie trailer which was being hyped for months.

Trying not to get too excited given Sonic Team’s propensity for haphazardly slapping new game mechanics together but an open world that allows players to blaze across it at top speed sounds too good to ignore.

Rise was the first Monster Hunter to really click with me. Looking forward to returning when the expansion drops.

The first Sonic movie was a great time for what it was. Looking forward to seeing what they do, now that they seem to be adapting even more of the source material.

I’ve always gotten the impression that Nintendo, for as weird and backwards as its public decision making can often feel, has always had its heads firmly screwed on when it comes to its workforce.

I enjoyed Bravely Default II but you’re either into it or you’re not. The art style did not translate to console well, like, at all.
