Re: Review: Agatha Knife (Switch eShop)

DeathUriel

@LastLife I didn't know abou this show. But after some reasearch I think we are both right. While the two characters are clearly from that show and their proximity to the penguins is probably reference to this penguim gag I see in some images, the design of the penguins in itself is really the same as Pengu. Including the fact that the three penguins showing in the image actually appeared in said show.

Just take a look at an image of the main character:

He is exactly like the penguim to the right.

Re: Review: Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition (Switch eShop)

DeathUriel

@Narbiaman5i5 Of course you can. But when you state something suck instead of saying YOU don't like it or it sucks for you to play, you sound just like any fanboy who say it is awesome beyond question. And well, as you don't like both Don't Starve and BoW, I suppose it is a fair assumption that you don't like "true open world" games in itself so... It would be even less relevant for you to state your opinion on such a matter, just like a youtuber I know that hates turn-based RPGs so he refuses to review them because he knows his opinion will be highly biased and may interfere with other's desire for such games.

Tl;dr: Everyone has opinions, the way you express it and the decision of expressing it leaves it open to be critized.

Re: Quad Fighter K Will Bring Retro Co-Op Shooting Action To Switch This Summer

DeathUriel

I am not saying Fortnite is not complex to run, I am saying that Fortnite was done by f****** epic games and they don't release anything in a platform that was not totally optimized to work perfectly. Anyway doing some fast research and I can say that the mobile version of PUBG looks absolutely like crap even with a good phone while Fortnite looks like it has pretty decent graphics if you have a good phone but downgrades for a bad phone to keep working. And THIS is what I call opmization.

Re: No, Sega Is Not Returning To The Home Console Arena

DeathUriel

@tamantayoshi I and I suppose many others would actually trade with no second thoughts Microsoft's participation in the console market for a revival of sega. Sony is undoubtedly already hard on the first party and exclusives to rival nintendo, but microsoft still pales in front of both, sega would have no problem competing in questions of quality, like it did in the golden age.

Re: Could Switch's Non-Compliant USB-C Spec Be To Blame For Third-Party Docks Bricking Consoles?

DeathUriel

@nathan_393 I agree that software should have prevented the bricks, still, yeah you are right, people tend to forget that these "standards" are not always standard, every company loves to make their own tweaked version of everything. Samsung's phone for example had this protocol on micro-USB that let the phone transfer high-rate of data (with image and stuff) while charging, thus working just like our current common "type-C" years before type-C. Nintendo also does this now and then. Let's remember that the Wii U didn't run Blu-Rays and the Wii didn't run DVDs, they both actually run proprietary type of media "created" by nintendo that was exactly like blu-ray and dvd. XD

Re: Feature: Skin Deep With The Exciting World Of Nintendo Tattoos

DeathUriel

@Rhaoulos If you fear regret you just shouldn't do it. Anyone will tell you that. You should only do that if your resolve is strong enough so that it doesn't change even if you don't care for the thing you tattooed anymore. I see my dark souls themed tattoos as if one day I don't like souls anymore, I will have this reminder of how I felt and thought at a time. A person with a weak resolve shouldn't be making big decisions, tattoos are not the only ones.

Re: Blade Strangers is a New Fighting Game Heading to Switch

DeathUriel

I always get pissed when a game looks interesting but the gameplay video is clearly made with people playing who never touched a control in their lives making the game look poor. Like clearly one of the players has the absolute uperhand in the battles and all he does is spam the same moves like if the games has no others.

Re: EA Is Considering Bringing More Games to Nintendo Switch

DeathUriel

@Nintendoforlife I disagree completely. I couldn't care less for any of the games you listed and agree totally with his point, before someone go on screaming fanboy be advised I have more games on steam than all my nintendo or sony consoles together. And almost none of them are from EA, I simply don't care about EA and wouldn't ever support one of their launch titles. I have far too many series I am willing to pay launch price that concern me far more than anything EA could put off. If let's say From Software gave us Dark Souls Trillogy for switch I would buy day one even having all souls games, just so I can play again on the go. Obviously there are a lot a people who care a lot about that list you made, but if they are not enough on the switch so EA is losing time with ports, simple as that, what EA decides doesn't change what other thirdies decide, what changes is switch sales and nintendo making the platform easy to dev and license. Buying pre-owned is not so far from waiting for a big discount on steam, I will only pay full price for a game I find worth it FOR ME, it doesn't matter how much effort was put on dev if I don't care about the subject, simple as that.

Re: USPS Recovers Lost Package Containing $10,000 in Rare SNES Cartridges

DeathUriel

I am curious if in such services there is no insurance... Here in brasil we can pay a quite small value to put an insurance with the value of our choice (being the contents actually so expensive or not) obviously I suppose it would be a little expensive to put an insurance of 10k, but, nonetheless it would be worth it. Here if you lose an insured package the mail will pay the value insured. You can bet someboy would be losing hair over this way before it turns into news if that was the case.

Re: Nintendo Will Replace Your Dead Switch Battery, At A Cost

DeathUriel

@Spoony_Tech I would say nintendo has been the apple of games for some time now. Not that I enjoy apple products, I actually hate them for the most part, but in the way that like apple they just ignore the obvious route and common demands and end up always doing their own weird thing.

Re: Double Dragon IV Packs an 8-Bit Punch But Isn't Confirmed for Switch, Yet

DeathUriel

@Siskan As I said I don't actually hate all 8-Bits. I know that some actual 8-bits games can be good-looking too. That's is just not the majority. My problem is when they use the style to make something that looks bad today as an excuse and selling point. Retro is quite in and everyone knows games can look awesome in 8-bits or 16-bits styles but they don't actually have the original limitations when imitating the styles nowadays.

Re: Double Dragon IV Packs an 8-Bit Punch But Isn't Confirmed for Switch, Yet

DeathUriel

Am I the only one who found the art style simply horrible?
I know that it is supposed to be like the older NES games, but come on, games like this are not pretty, just sell because of nostalgia glasses. No one younger that didn't force fed itself with NES games can find this attractive. This coming from a 25 year old who force fed itself the older zeldas, marios and megaman (my life started on SNES) for the sake of defeating the franchises.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate 8-bit style retro by definition, Shovel Knight in my personal opinion looks quite good, I just think that while the retro style might be good reminder of how things were, it should not be an excuse to make a game that looks horrible with cheap graphics (and lower budget) just for the sake of nostalgia. Mega Man 9 and 10 in my opinion were on the same boat.

Re: Feature: An Android User's Weird Alternatives to Super Mario Run

DeathUriel

@Agent721 I already heard about that, but, that only proves that each apple user spends more, not that they are actually more. I would blame that on play store in itself. While both markets are filled with crap and shovelware, in my opinion play store is worse because of self-publishing. That leads to two cases:
1. Good quality premium apps are overshadowed more by the shovelwares.
2. People who are satisfied by the free (full of ads) and freemium shovelware aren't so inclined to spend money on apps they don't even understand why are more expensive than their common shovelware.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate self-publishing, but, let's be honest, some quality control, or more strict rules would only improve the place.
Of course, most of this is my opinion, based on my view of the facts presented. Feel free to object or disagree in silence.

Re: Feature: An Android User's Weird Alternatives to Super Mario Run

DeathUriel

@therealgamer I do hope you are joking on your hope, and I hope I am not the first the tell you this, but...
You do realize Windows Phone is actually dead right? Microsoft will give it some suport and updates for a time (so to not disapoint the current users) but there are no plans in launching new ones and it looks like even Nokia has gone Android.

Re: Preview: Being Fashionably Late With Mario Party: Star Rush

DeathUriel

Any information as to if this will make a return to the old style of boards? Like big circular ones (with some alternative ways) that being in front doesn't mean anything about winning, and what actually matters is picking the stars? I like those way more as the game had much more twists (like somebody stealing stars with a boo or the duels in the last turns) than I found in any stage of island tour.

Re: Video: Watch the First Two Episodes of Pokémon Generations

DeathUriel

@DarthNocturnal Actually not, this looks quite canon as the games are concerned. Team Rocket was kinda disbanded after the first gen games, on the second gen the admins reunite to restore Team Rocket and part of the plot of the games is them looking for Giovani who went missing since the end of Team Rocket. Just your common main anime series says Team Rocket is still kicking strong up to gen 7.

Re: Video: Fresh Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 Footage Is Here To Burn Your Eyeballs

DeathUriel

@khaosklub @Popful @AlexSora89
First of all. I am not saying Dark Souls is easy, it is even unfair some times, but that even goes for its charm, I actually love soul/born series. I am just saying that it is not as exagerated hard as people make it look like. Donkey Kong Country Returns is absolutely unfair at many parts, and ridiculous hard at times to go for the 100%. Like I recently posted in my own miiverse, the last secret stage is platform nightmare and it just goes on giving you the option to replay everything mirrored and harder. Dark Souls does look harder just because of its feel and core audience, going for mainstream hitting the sufering casuals.

And about mixed and controlled dificulty, I find that awesome but it is still quite unexplored. We can see that in games like The World Ends With You and Bravely Default and in my opinion it was quite awesome in both (I used for the harder feel most of time, but was cool to tone down when tired). And I agree that Zero's easy mode was basically ridiculous. I even ended the 4 games in a day because of that just because I wanted to get the collectibles that could only be got in such.

Re: Video: Fresh Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 Footage Is Here To Burn Your Eyeballs

DeathUriel

@AlexSora89
Actually, Azure Striker Gunvoult is quite forgiving compared to basically any Mega Man game of the main megaverse (being BN and SF the only in other universe). While this new character looks quite easy to move around as he has more aerial movement than any mega (not counting Falcon Armor), let's be honest, Gunvoult has only an invenciblity shield that let's you that a hit without losing health once in a while. The fact that YOU can't beat the games don't make the games too hard and unforgiving overall. Even tough I admit that an easy mode could exist for the more casuals in such game styles, hardness is something that is quite valued in a world that Dark Souls is considered "OMG, so hardcore".

Re: Guide: Setup and Key Facts for Nintendo Account and Miitomo Preregistration

DeathUriel

@ThomasBW84 Yeah, I know. I kinda had my hopes up that nintendo for once would remember brazil exists. As this time we actually were in the above mentioned list, I do believe this time we will get something (even if late). I just hope this doesn't end up like NID, for 3DS it worked, and then they just decided to not give a damn on wii U. Still waiting for my Wii U e-shop access. For this and much other situations many brazilians use other countries for their accounts. Never got anything good by having an account with the right country... =(
