Re: Poll: Is Your Switch Lite Suffering From Joy-Con Drift?

Dayshader

@BarefootBowser @BenAV Coincidentally I happen to be having the same issue with my R button. I started noticing the issue ~1 year back with the button only occasionally recognizing my inputs. It seems like the more I use it, the worse it gets (which seems obvious) but I’ve also had it operate without issue for about a week after leaving the Joy-Con untouched for a while. For the record, the button still works fine (it presses down) and when I opened the controller up to replace the stick, the spring seemed to be in the right place.

Re: Rumours Of New Switch Models Cause Nintendo's Share Price To Significantly Rise

Dayshader

@progx But... It DOESN'T make sense. The majority of the marketing surrounding the switch emphasizes its "play anywhere" philosophy. While sticking to a home console might put it up there with the PS4/XBOne in terms of power, that's clearly not a concern for Nintendo; it goes against their entire design philosophy. And that's not even getting into the issue of games that utilize undocked mode prominently, be it for the touchscreen or something more.

Re: Soapbox: It's Not Cool To Lock Pokémon Behind A Paywall

Dayshader

Really? I get complaining about a Pokémon only being available by buying/having another game, but this article is frankly asinine. Pokémon has always done this, be it through Version exclusives or the Ranger games. But beyond that, how many people are honestly COMPLETING THE POKÉDEX in Go without being invested enough in Pokémon to buy the main series entry. I could understand complaining about needing to use Go if it was a paid app to unlock something in a main game, but complaining about it the other way around is beyond ridiculous. Not to mention that, as people have already pointed out, this paywall that you mention DOESN’T EVEN EXIST. I cannot fathom how anyone could possibly be this upset over something this insignificant.

Re: Feature: Talking Super Smash Bros. Ultimate With Nintendo's Bill Trinen And Nate Bihldorff

@Big_Ounce Because it seems like a lot of people seem to think that port=low effort cashgrab.
While there's obviously some degree of fanboyism involved in the defense, I think calling so many games ports, particularly when some clearly aren't, also discredits the efforts of the developers. People shouldn't disrespect creator's efforts just because a game is visually and mechanically similar (especially when they ignore all the changes, adjustments and new content). That's just my opinion though.

Re: Mysterious 'Project R' Sonic Racer Teased By Sega

@Damo But this was revealed during the week, on Friday. And if you do take the weekend off, why post it now, on Sunday night instead of waiting until Monday morning since the timegap wouldn't have been significant? If you took the weekend off but wanted to post this article during that time-period anyway, why wouldn't you post it earlier, on Saturday? I don't mean to be overly critical, but I do find it a bit confusing.

Re: Review: Attack On Titan 2 (Switch)

Dayshader

It doesn't seem like this game fixed the issues I had with the first one. Namely, the repetitiveness of repeatedly killing Titans in the exact same way every time (which, to be fair, is true to the show) and the entire loot/upgrade/skill system feeling kind of unnatural and unnecessary. Swinging around is fun for a few hours, but it very quickly gets repetitive.
