Re: Nintendo Targets Switch Modchip Installation Service In Latest Legal Crackdown

DasWunderkind

I never cared about romhacking or using fan made software like OpenBOR and Doom on my Wii until Nintendo started going after romsites. They outright refuse to provide a good online service, functional controllers or let fans release games that are superior to their own like AM2R and Pokemon Prism.

I have zero sympathy for this company and owe them nothing. Pretending like there is some moral standard for gaming is just stupid and ignorant of how awesome the homebrew community has grown. If you don't want to mod your console then don't, but don't tell me I can't do what I want with something I paid for and own. I also like to mod my car

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 13th)

DasWunderkind

I'm playing a bunch of rom hacks and homebrews. My girlfriend loves Tetrimino for the NES. I'm going to play Haunted Halloween '85 and '86 for the NES, then Xenocrisis and Ultracore for the Sega Genesis, Super Metroid Arcade and New Super Mario Land for the SNES, then maybe some Doom mods on the Homebrew Channel

Re: Talking Point: Six Burning Questions We'd Love Nintendo To Answer This Summer

DasWunderkind

1. Why are you too cheap to draw eyes on Link in Link's Awakening HD?
2. Do you seriously think Animal Crossing is going to keep you alive?
3. This one is just a comment: thanks for making the Wii so easy to homebrew. Now I have 5000 games from your back catalog and it's all because you wanted to close romsites and it made me want to download all your games, even the ones I hate just to spite you

Re: Sega's Game Gear Micro Was Originally Going To Be Even More Stingy

DasWunderkind

I loved the original Game Gear. Back in the early 90s, having a fatass portable color backlit Sega gaming console made you a king at recess. I found the screen to be better than playing the games emulated on anything else. And six AA batteries was nothing since we were still rocking boom boxes with even more and heavier batteries.

But this... this thing is a joke

Re: Ninty Fresh Aims To Relive The Glory Days Of Nintendo Print Magazines

DasWunderkind

Their Kickstarter page is too wordy. I know that's weird given they're trying to raise money for a magazine, but we need more images and snipet articles to buy in.

Tips & Tricks was my go-to mag back in the day. I have old issues of Nintendo Power which I subscribed to because of the free Dragon Warrior game. The game sucked but the magazine was great. GamePro was ok but their reviews were ass.

A Nintendo only mag could work but it would have to try do things that aren't in the mainstream. They would have to show us cool stuff we could do with our Nintendo consoles like how to homebrew on the Wii or how to play Japanese games on a US system. They could review different SNES emulators and maybe cover local game competitions like the YouTube series "Video Game All-Stars". They could offer free eShop goodies or Mario merchandise. It has potential.
