Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly Ramp Up Switch Output To 30 Million This Fiscal Year

Darkred401

im totally expecting an announcement for a switch pro this june, i understand the doubt of it happening since "leakers" have been claiming it would happen for years with nothing happening, this year however we've gotten datamines for a new model, samsung saying they their displays are being added to future gaming consoles which(they left unamed), nvidia stopping production of the current chip in the switch models

also in the past nintendo would say "we have no new models planned this year" last year but this year "there is nothing we can tell you" seems very tongue and cheek

Re: Metroid Prime 4 Developer Hires DreamWorks Talent As A Lighting Artist

@johnvboy i think what happened was after botw's massive success, nintendo's expectations for metroid prime increased a lot, they probably wanted to reset development in hopes that they could make prime 4 the botw of the fps genre

i think even if what bandai made was on par with the previous prime games nintendo would still have reset development

Re: Retro Recruits Dreamworks Talent As A Lighting Artist For Metroid Prime 4

there are 2 possibilities:

1. this game will be an absolute mess which will be mocked for years to come for how bad it was despite completely restarting development and hiring the best in the industry

2. this game will be one of the best fps games ever made that will develop similar popularity to half life

it really feels like nintendo is betting A LOT on this game

Re: Review: Apex Legends - A Great Game Hamstrung By A Compromised Switch Port

Darkred401

i always expected it to be compromised but there are a lot of issues that need to be fixed, i dont mind 30fps too much but the game dips framerate dramatically and the ui glitches out a lot, a lot of more demanding games look blurry like this port however this game requires you to pay attention to enemies at great distance unlike something like doom or xenoblade. it's still fun to play and i think we'll see noticeable improvements overtime. its another game that makes me hope the switch pro rumors are true

Re: Feature: The Best Hidden Gems And Underrated Switch Games Of 2019

i have 2 of my own:

1. blaster master zero 2: the story is really campy but has it's charm. the gameplay is a massive improvement from the first and is an overall great metroidvania with great music

2. Anodyne: so this game actually came out in 2013 but it released on the switch this year and i wasn't aware of it's existence till it showed up on the eshop. the gameplay is really simple and very similar/ simplified version of the legend of zelda however the star of the show is the atmosphere and great writing along with it's story and music that compel you to keep going. i didn't get it until it was temporarily on sale but if your'e interested in game with an interesting narrative this is worth full price($10)
