Nintendo and Ubisoft partnering up for the Switch version of Starlink to add Fox McCloud is definitely a highlight, but even without that the game offers some great action and exploration. Super Mario Party is returning to its classic formula while building new experiences from it. I've definitely got my eye on it.
But while I'm certainly excited for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the showing we got here was overkill. All it needed was the three minutes Mario Odyssey had last year to give us the Everyone Is Here trailer, then jump straight into the deeper dive with the Treehouse. Even the Smash Bros. Invitational was a way to deep dive into it.
That's not to say it overall was terrible. Both the World Championship and Invitational were full of action, and the Treehouse team did a good job of showing how these games look and provided some fun.
I don't much care that Eevee can't evolve here. It does have uses, and as well as that I'm currently training a team of six Eevee in Moon and not one of them will be evolving. I think that says a lot about who one of my favourites is.
While of course I want to get a core game on Switch and get to the proper meat of raising a team of my favourites, and battling the 'mon of the wild, the Let's Go! games provide a more relaxed take from the training and put the critters first - especially in terms of the mascots. These games should forge a connection with the world within them much better than what the core series has provided recently, and I'm all up for exploring this new vision of Kanto.
We don't need sensible ideas like a Splatoon Battle Royale. We need crazy ideas with just enough logic to work. We need an Animal Crossing Battle Royale where Tom Nook is draining all your bells from your account so you need to rush around and find things to sell to to shops, all while Tom Nook is using the money he gains to buy out the shops and close them down.
Whatever this announcement is, I'm sure it'll be good.
This is a LEGO game I can get behind. Just because the title says one Pixar series, doesn't mean it can't include others. With Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. in Kingdom Hearts 3, I could see both having characters in this. And if there's love and care put into this, there will more than likely be a number of references to the other films Pixar have made. Imagine a cutscene of the final battle of the first film having the house from UP fly past, for instance.
The Incredibles 2 as a LEGO game... Throw in the story of the first and maybe an original connecting story between the two, and you've got a deal. However, at this point I just want TT Games put onto something else not related to LEGO, or at least give them full creative control again. City Undercover might have been the same old formula, but they weren't working around a specific film licence so it felt the freshest a LEGO game had in a long time.
This entire rumour has to be a joke... Right..? Just to... Just to mess with all those people who have surpassed hyper mode and gone straight to souring insane? Maybe Nintendo are the master trolls after all, if it is indeed the case.
@frogopus It's actually one game per franchise series, not one per genre. Either way, still doesn't explain the lack of some of the greats. But then again, every list is subjective, so what one thinks isn't always going to be what others do.
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is on my list, but I have the feeling not everyone liked it [or Colosseum].
The two main games from today I'll be playing on the weekend are Pokemon Ultra Sun and Skyrim. There's possible time to fit a bit of Mario Odyssey into that time, but Star Wars Battlefront 2 calls. It says my ten hours of EA Access weren't enough play time. And while I'm at it, I suppose another hour or two on the Sims 4 EA Access trial. And a bit of Sonic Forces.
If only you weren't travelling at a million miles an hour on a plane. I'm sure the crazy photos of a Pidgey standing on a cloud would be a great laugh. It would be a tall order to get a legendary bird in the wild, but imagine seeing Moltres attacking a plane. The ultimate laugh would come from seeing a Magikarp splashing through the clouds as though still swimming.
All events had good things within them, and it's a very close call between the Treehouse Day 1 and Splatoon Invitational for me [though chose the former in the poll]. It's definitely been a good few days with all the reveals and showcases.
It's a close call for me between Nintendo and EA. EA have both Star Wars Battlefront II and the new Need For Speed [and possibly other Star Wars games though I'm not expecting much from that]. Nintendo have Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Pilotwings + Wave Race if the leak is true, and quite possibly other unannounced stuff too.
While I've voted that I'm looking forward to it and am looking forward to more information, only half of that statement is right. The last arena fighter I bought was Pokken Tournament, and that pretty much got played twice during launch month and forgot about since. The draw of Pokemon was strong with that one, and while I am interested to see if ARMS has a stronger pull [I liked what I played, after all] I'm just not exactly sure the content will keep me going for long.
For 200cc I usually say a lower speed/higher acceleration helps out a lot better. If you get hit by an item, you can almost immediately hit that top speed again, and the lower speed helps on corners so you won't go blasting off to the side - especially if you've got a mini-turbo boost to contend with as well. 150cc I have a slightly more balanced approach though still favouring acceleration. The lowest of the speed classes allows the highest speed stats to be used.
I also tackled this with no Divine Beast powers, getting there via Cryonis blocks and saving just before hitting the quest barrier. Did the third listed in this guide first, blasting near everything with bombs. The Hinox I led up to the hillside camp, using a combination of bombs and Stasis. At one point it ground pounded the cooking pot, setting itself on fire. The third was easy after that. Didn't cook anything, barely used any gained weapons. Did take a number of tries though.
Wanting to see a lot of games for this thing, though as of now I'm hyped while keeping expectations in check. I can go full hype on the train to the event the day after.
This is looking very good. It still doesn't work out very good for me and others in Europe looking to watch the livestream and this, but it's better than nothing. All that footage will be available to watch once it's over.
It definitely was great to get some info on this, and I'm excited at what we've seen. I'm more than likely getting it at launch but erring on the side of caution until we get some more information.
Star Wars: Rouge Squadron, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Pokemon Colosseum/Gale of Darkness, and though I've only recently played it - F-Zero GX. The other game would be Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It was a great console, despite what sales figures say. And I really hope it gets some love on the NX considering the price of some of the games these days.
Pokemon Direct last week. General Direct this week. Is there going to a mobile and NX Direct next week?
Whatever comes in this Direct is sure to be interesting, even if not relevant to me. Just like a magazine, it covers things you wouldn't normally look at, but find yourself interested when you do look.
Joke aside, its a shame this game isn't worth it, as there is a chance to make something better that what Wii Sports offers, but hardly anyone seems to take it.
Oh, I sure have a lot of memories, and like most here have been with the series since the start. Well, the UK's start, anyway. I don't recall being much of a gamer back in the day, so I'd be a year or so behind the times with games. Pokemon Red was my first, and I remember that fond adventure. To the Elite Four, where I lost. Then threw my Game Boy down the stairs. A moment I will surely cherish, as that incident corrupted my save. I can't remember much of Generation 2, though I do remember being on an outing with family and a cousin was playing on his GBA. It was Pokemon Ruby, and I was fascinated at how different it looked from the previous two gens. I soon had the game myself of course, and can remember fondly playing through both Colosseum and Gale of Darkness when they released on the Gamecube, as well as battling on the big screen with them. I can hardly even recall generation 4, but during generation four was when I became much more hooked on gaming, so when generation 5 released, each game I received at or near launch. For generarion 6 my money was finally in my own hands, so both Y and Omega Ruby were preordered by me. I could get down into details, but I think I've said enough.

Seems alright, but I'm more of an open-world racer type of person.
When can we get a game like that on Switch?
