I played it on Switch. Was a freaking mess. Yes, you could advance so far playing solo (like I did) but to keep going is like walking into a fire.

For them to now announce between the lines we are now saying F the Switch version in a sense and they aren’t updating it, but will do for other platforms.... Say good night to your little fan base on Switch, and goodbye to anyone possibly thinking of buying it on Switch. Player base of Switch, terminated in 5,4,3,2.....1.....💥💥💥💥💥

I hate that outlook. I get it though. Black Flag is the best AC game ever. IMO. Origins and Odyssey took it into a new direction. @Deljo

Yeah definitely give it another go. It’s my favorite AC game ever. I know we’re just strangers talkin here (lol), but keep in mind this to for what it’s worth. I’ve played every AC game ever, and I’ve traded in every one of them except Black Flag and Rogue. In my opinion they’re that good. It will grow on you and you’ll easily adjust to the controls. @dewokkel

Gotcha. I’ve gotten burned to by buying a game based off of a review. Definitely not a good idea.

I don’t think the controls are bad at all. The only downside is the parkour and chase missions where you occasionally go the wrong way if you tilt the thumb stick too much. However, these games are over 5yrs old and all older AC games do this. @dewokkel

:::shaking my head:::: Did you not play this ever before on PS3, 360, Wii U, or PS4 or XB1? Have you ever played ANY AC game before prior to Origins or Odyssey? It’s exactly like those versions. It’s a perfect port with the usual “slippery” platforming controls as all the AC games back then. It’s not the best, everyone already knew that. No idea why you would think the Switch version would be any different then those, control wise. @dewokkel

I’ve been playing this tonight, it’s another amazing port. Shows how great Switch is if/when Dev’s want to port a game.

To the people complaining that Rogue is a download. I’m sorry, you guys are such blank blank blanks.... Black Flag is huge so that on the cartridge alone is incredible, to ask for Rogue data on top of that. Get the bleep outta here.

I brought my Switch with me to the office to download it at my desk since it’s 17GB’s. I want it ready to go when I play tonight. Lol. Can’t wait. It’s been almost 5yrs since beating this game twice on PS4.

Then tomorrow, off to Gamestop I go to pick up my Rebel Collection. 🤘

The retail death is actually in motion finally happening to for 3DS. Not sure about you guys, but I live in NW Chicago Suburbs and until just recently, I’m talking a month or less I’ve noticed a big change in the 3-4 Walmart’s right around me. Their 3DS glass game case all dwindled down to how it is at Best Buy & Target. The “standard approx 20” as relevant as it gets game selection. Your group of Nintendo Selects, Kirby Epic Yarn, Pokemon, etc. but before Walmart’s still had that random bunch of games that other retailers stopped selling new, years ago. They must have sent them off to a corporate warehouse to create more room for relevant consoles & accessories.

I anticipate in 1-2yrs the “big box” stores will want all 3DS removed to create more space for Switch Standard/Lite,PS5, “Scarlett”, etc. and it’s only Gamestop to shop for 3DS or Amazon (New and Preowned).

Let me first state. I like this game and beat it more than once on my PS4 back in 2014-15.

With that said. I have no clue where these high praise reviews keep coming from for this, back when it came out the reviews hammered the game or were vastly average.

I remember atrocious cutscenes with random frame rate drops and some choppy moments of gameplay, like super noticeable in your face. You’d have to be Hellen Keller to miss them.

I’m probably getting it tomorrow, so this post isn’t bashing anything. I just genuinely find it kind of funny that suddenly...5yrs later...being ported to Switch creates high reviews just about everywhere I look online when it was the exact opposite in 2014.

I’m surprised how many fantastic reviews I’m seeing for Switch, when this game got hammered with average/poor scores on more powerful consoles.

With that being said, I used to have this on PS4 and beat it twice. It’s a great game.

I’m scared though when/if I buy it on Thursday from the eShop. I played this on my PS4 Pro and even on that some of the cutscenes were atrocious. The frame rate would randomly drop to stuttering choppy visuals, some hiccups in gameplay to. So here’s to hoping the port is the same if not better if at all possible. Doubtful I know.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve thought about it, I’m a “physical copy” only guy and only go digital in dire situations (super rare for me). Annnyway, lol, Best Buy sells Golf Story as an exclusive physical copy release there.

Why is it so good/great? I see tons of 9/10 or higher reviews for it. Judging on how it looks in screenshots it just looks like an 80’s or 90’s retro game. Just not exactly what I thought it was.

In your guys opinion, what is the #1 mini golf game on Switch?

I remember browsing the few on the eShop and reading reviews, I was scared I’d regret buying one of them in fear of them simply not being any good. 🤷‍♂️

Technically, very cool but I’m not sure why anyone would want to use that over regular controls unless your hands are so small you can only palm a golf ball. Lol.

I can see a lotta people getting this just because it’s cool, no sarcasm, I think it is but I’d never prefer using a controller that small.

Hopefully. Yup, I remember when I played through this twice on a PS4 Pro. I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t see extremely choppy cutscenes on occasion and also extreme frame rate drops on occasion. An I’m not a picky graphics guy either. @KBuckley27

I admit I’m OCD with gaming, but I’m really not trying to stack digital games. I’ve only done it when I’ve had no choice. My RE:Revelations Collection (RE2), Overwatch, and Wolf Youngblood.

If this release was a cartridge I’d get it. Otherwise my digital/download-only code games have to be a for sure thing for me. So, I guess that means I’m on the fence right now.

I think it’s unfortunate, but the amount of people that care enough to not buy a new AAA Shooter on Switch to take their bold stance will not outweigh the people like me. I think it’s all messed up, but I’m stoked to play Overwatch tonight and am still going to get it today on my lunch break. I can’t control these type of real world things and me not going to buy it today to support that, changes nothing at all.@CANCEROUS

I know a lot of people may disagree and that’s fine. My point is in general the vast majority of people that want Overwatch on Switch will be like “yikes, that’s messed up but definitely still buying it tonight to play. That doesn’t concern me.” Period.

Hey man, I’m back. Lol. So...I take that back, I don’t feel so dumb. The packs you’re referring to are nowhere to be found after checking the Theme Shop + eShop. Do you know if they exist? After googling, I found a Reddit thread. Some guy said they disappeared back in 2015. Just curious if you can confirm so I can stop wondering about this. The Lime Green color I saw looked sick. I think I remember having those colors back in 2015 on my original 3DS. I traded that in way back though for the XL Galaxy model.

Thanks, but no, I got that. I know where the basic color themes are, but those colors don’t exist. I never seen the specific colors in that screenshot until now. The blue is a “regular” blue, not “sky” blue, and I never even seen orange, etc. strange...@Grumblevolcano

What does this game compare to? I’m an avid Destiny player, I’ve played thousands of hours.

Looking forward to this. Big fan of these guys. I have Aqua Moto Racing for my 3DS, and Aqua Moto Racing Utopia & Snow Moto Freedom for Switch. I see so many people bash these games but they’re as close as I’m going to get to my “modern” Wave Race’s so I’m happy with that.

Black 🏴‍☠️ is my favorite AC game. I also think Rogue is great. If you’re a diehard of Black 🏴‍☠️ how can you not enjoy Rogue? Personal opinion I guess.

I also never had problems with AC3 on Switch, maybe I played it more after the patch but seems like most people just got on the bandwagon to bash it and beat a dead horse.

I think it’s a good idea to have everyone start fresh (no cross-play). This isn’t your standard run-n-gun FPS. Like the guy said a few posts above.

If you read between the lines, Blizzard is weary of opening the cross-play floodgates for multiple reasons.

Anyway, watch how fast the player base drops on Paladins come Oct.15th. Sorry Paladins. Cough cough, I mean Overwatch’s step brother...
