Re: Random: Circus Pilgrims Played Megalovania To The Pope And Revived A 6-Year-Old Undertale Meme

@Dark_Isatari there are PLENTY of people out there still willing to make and raise kids, so banging on about how it's "irresponsible" is just nonsense.

Parenthood will do sweet fanny adams for one's personal growth if one never wanted to be a parent in the first place. People becoming parents out of a sense of "duty" is part of the problem, as they will often end up only being parents in the literal sense of the word, as opposed to actually encompassing everything parents should be.

Go ahead, think of my comments as judgmental. I don't care. To judge is to be human. Your notion of "pragmatic justification" is pretty much all in your head and has not been supported by any evidence.

@Dark_Isatari saying that it leads to a loss of humanity isn't condescending or arrogant to you? He's literally implying that foregoing parenthood somehow makes you "less" human, which is an INCREDIBLY myopic and heteronormative thing to say. He's also spouting this crap as if it's scientific fact, instead of his most likely very poorly informed (and patriarchal) opinion.

@Ralizah So because LGPE didn't do it right, that means they shouldn't attempt it in future entries? Also, why can't there be an element of surprise in coming across them in the field? Wouldn't it be cool and more immersive to see Pokemon in different locales acting out their instinctive behaviours and interacting with other Pokemon, as opposed to just popping up in random battles or sitting around in people's houses?

So, for what it's worth, my two cents on what Nintendo needs to do to be more successful:

1. Hype the heck out of the NX at some point this year
2. Pump out a few more Wii U titles (even if they're HD ports!)
3. Continue giving the 3DS more support into 2017 and maybe beyond
4. Launch NX right out of the gate with franchise entries that people want (new Metroid maybe)
5. Lower the Wii U and 3DS's prices slightly this year

@earthboundlink Thing is, I have no problem with what some may call "gimmicks" introduced by Nintendo. I just don't always like how those are implemented, e.g. having to replace the batteries in the Wii Remote or purchase rechargeable ones. Still, I'd like to see Nintendo improve and better implement the accessories and technologies they introduce. What they often seem to do is introduce a new control method/technology, and then leave it to stagnate in their future consoles, in favour of introducing another new control method/technology. Maybe I'm asking for too much, but I quite liked motion controls and gyroscopic controls - they just need better implementation.

I don't mind Miitomo and similar apps. I won't be happy if Nintendo neglects more "traditional" games in favour of pursuing the mobile market, though.

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

The trailer was kind of underwhelming for me. I can live with and sort of understand the move to action adventure, although I would have preferred it if they kept more of the RPG elements. I loved how everything seems to be made out of paper and cardboard. I just hope there won't be an overabundance of generic-looking Toads in the final game.
