Well, it's no Wild Guns, but I guess it will do. I can't wait to try it out. Maybe if it sells well, Wild Guns will be remade for WiiWare. One can dream, right?
If I can get my Wii homebrew-enabled without physically modding it, I might use this to try some games I'm interested in or play some foreign ones that would never make it Stateside. I wouldn't be so tempted if Nintendo wasn't such a damn control freak about imports.
I already bought my copy. I guess I could buy another one since I lent mine to a friend and now she seems pretty attached to it. I'd also like to see Klonoa 2 make it to the Wii.
I already have Street Fighter 4 on PS3 and I don't want to pay for the girls' costumes again on Wii (I shouldn't have paid for them the first time). Wii owners who don't have a PS3, high-end PC, XBox360, or SF4 arcade unit in their house should also have access to this game too, though, so I wish for it on their behalf. As for the CAPCOM Disney games, I'm sure they would have been put on the Virtual Console a long time ago if there wasn't all the legal trouble. I know I would have bought the Ducktales games and maybe even The Little Mermaid.
Why the Genesis version? I don't remember it having anything the SNES version didn't have. The SNES version had better sound and a pretty cool opening song.
Jerichoholic Josh, everything reported to anyone outside of Capcom and/or Marvel about Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a rumor, and completely unfounded. If the data from this game ends up being used for MvC3, rest assured it will be a sheer coincidence.
I have the original game, but the control sticks on my controllers are kind of worn. I'll consider buying this if it's not too much, which most-likely means I won't be buying it since it'll probably be 1200 MicroSoft points (appx $15). I don't usually pay more than $10 for old games I already own, especially when they're download-only.
Sony can copy Nintendo's design, but I have a feeling Nintendo will still dominate in its current market because Nintendo knows how to make the games that really utilize the motion controls (despite what anyone says about Wii Music). And if Sony does manage to make the games work, this could push Nintendo into branching back more to the hardcore crowd.
Well, that sucks. I have a PS3 and XBox 360, but I feel bad for the fans who don't have those. I don't suppose could use the CAPCOM vs Tatsunoko engine, replace the Tatsunoko characters with Marvel ones, and release it globally? I'd be fine with the Tatsunoko characters, but since there is some illogical legal barrier keeping those guys inside Japan...
Looks interesting, though I'd prefer something more along the lines of a slightly cel-shaded resemblance to the 1987 cartoon. And if this has Wii-Speak support, I might consider actually buying the Wii-speak peripheral. Otherwise I think I'll look in XBox 360's direction.
Sure thing, Aenaida. I just hope the next thing I transcript won't be filled with slurred words. I must have backtracked about 30 times. It was worth it though because I don't appreciate websites restricting access from any region.
I don't think I beat Glass Joe the very first time I played the game either, but that was because I didn't really know the controls and what I was supposed to do.
Actually, you are right, TwilightV. The license did expire, and Nintendo decided not to renew it because Mike had lost the championship to Buster Douglas (albeit through a disputed referee's count). SEGA immediately picked Buster up to be in their own boxing game on the Genesis, which is probably one of the reasons Tyson was replaced by Mr Dream instead of Buster. This all happened before the rapes, ear-biting, and spouse-beating.
Don't worry, people outside the U.S. I made a transcript of the interview right here:
Josh Horowitz: "For people my age, I grew up with a very iconic video game..." Mike Tyson grunts. Josh: "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! There's a new Punch-Out that's coming out. I don't know if you know that, that it's like the first one in a decade, for the Wii." Mike: "Yeah." Josh: "Did they come to you and ask you to be a part of it?" Mike: "Uh, I believe there was a Round 4, Fight Night 4. Josh: "There's that too, yeah, but I think then there's also a separate Punch-Out!! game. There's ... That's, like, you and, like, Ali on the cover, I think, that one." Mike: "Yeah?" Josh: "But what about ... uh ... for ... for the Wii game?" Mike: "Uh, I don't know if I'm in that, and I don't really know about that." Josh: "Were you ever any good at Mike Tyson's Punch-Out?" Mike: "Nah, I got slaughtered." Josh: "What?" (seeming a little dismayed) Mike: "I got slaughtered all the time." Josh: "Didn't they, like, give you, like, the free, like, code of like how you could beat any opponent?" (he says a tiny bit more but I can't make it out through Mike's interruption) Mike: "No, I got slaughtered. I never played it again. I played it one time and I got slaughtered and I never played it again. Josh: "Are you a big, uh, gamer now?" Mike: "Um, Resident Evil. That's my favorite. Resident Evil." Josh: "And you're a little better at that than Punch-Out, hopefully?" Mike: "Yeah, I suck at ... uh, all the boxing games and stuff. I played Mike Tyson fightin' Joe Frazier in Punch-Out. Joe Frazier was killing everybody. I got ... playing Joe...Joe Frazier was just demolishing. We all lost. But I like Res...I like games with plot. I like Resident Evil and stuff like that. I like Gods of War, combat, stuff like that, but all that other stuff, man." Josh laughs. Mike: "Sports? Oh man. Things like, I never got... I never got into sports. The only thing I ever did was just box and stuff. I started so young, but I never played sports or anything before."
Mike said a few other things, but he was slurring so damn much I couldn't understand. And yes, Mike really did say he was playing as himself against Joe Frazier in Punch-Out!!, despite Mike not being playable and Joe not being in the game at all.
Great! Now give us some online play for these games! I'm sick of online-enabled games on the Wii being as scarce as games on XBox 360 and PS3 that are NOT online.
Well, I really want Chi no Rondo. I have it on PSP, but the PSP itself is not very comfortable to hold. I'm also interested Sylphia and whatever Valis games were released on the Turbo Duo. In fact, give me every female-starring video game on those two systems.

Fine choice of words for a game that isn't even out yet.

Enough with the dick jokes already!!!

Re: Wild West Guns
Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with the underground SNES classic Wild Guns.
Re: Miyamoto Unconcerned By Rival Motion Control Systems
Are you sure Wii Motion + can match Sony's new wand?
Re: Classic Controller Pro Heading West?
I'll be waiting until it comes out in black. I'll import it if I have to.
Re: Metroid: Other M - Will Samus Get Sexy?
I think Samus should stay respectable as a warrior and not some sex symbol.
Re: New Nintendo Handheld Dropped Amid DS Success
Look at it this way: at least your DS systems won't be obsolete for a while.

After Grey's Anatomy, the only thing that surprises me about this announcement is that I didn't see it coming a mile away.

Bass X0, what's in a name? A game by any other name would ... you probably know the rest.

Re: GoldenEye Designer Backs Virtual Console Release
I'm more a Perfect Dark person myself. It could just be my preference for female protagonists though.
Re: UPDATE! New Features Rumored For Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
You won't be smiling when CAPCOM charges $60+ for the game and $5+ each for DLC that's already in the game but you have to pay to unlock.
Re: GoldenEye Designer Backs Virtual Console Release
I wish they'd just release it on both systems ... and maybe even PS3 for good measure. Give everyone a chance.
Re: Could a New Rocket Knight Adventures Game Be On The Way?
I'd settle for the Genesis version of Sparkster right now, but a new game would be awesome too if they don't screw it up.
Re: Excitebots Crashes Out At Retail
I don't like using the Wii remote as a steering wheel. If that sort of thing worked for me, I might have picked this up.
Re: Don't Toss Those Old Controllers Yet
I have to wonder if there will be any lag issues and how much time it will take for the adapter to properly process the pressed buttons.

Re: Glimmer Of Hope For Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom?
Why don't they just replace the Tatsunoko characters with Nintendo ones and be done with it? They could call it Mario Vs Capcom.

Re: The Conduit Slips, Multiplayer Gets Downsized
As long as I can still play as a girl, that's fine.
Re: High Voltage: No DLC for The Conduit, More WiiWare on the Way
I'm personally glad there won't be any DLC, since it means nothing will be deliberately left out.
Re: Banjo-Kazooie
I think it's just part of the Retro section of this website and they put it on the "Coming Soon" list by mistake.
Re: Animales de la Muerte Officially NOT Coming To WiiWare
Hopefully it'll at least show up on a disc that doesn't cost more than $20.

So will this be on the Wii or DSi?

Re: The TurboGrafx-16 Returns to North America in March

What?! I like to play as female fairies!
Re: USA VC Update: Commodore 64 Launches With Three Games

Re: Hudson Not Abandoning Virtual Console After All?

Re: Bubble Bobble Plus Out On WiiWare Next Week
Are Bib and Bab girls? It would be nice to balance the gender out a little.
Re: Animales de la Muerte Officially NOT Coming To WiiWare
Would it kill the Wii to have at least one bloody violent downloadable game?
Re: USA VC Update: Phantasy Star IV
Heh. Too bad I already got this on four other formats:
Genesis cart, Genesis rom, and the Sege Genesis Collection for PS2 and PSP.
