Re: Japanese Virtual Console List - October 2009

BlueFlameBat

Hmm. Unless the Turbo CD version contains something the others don't, I think I'll make due with the Street Fighter 1 on my computer and PSP.

As for Kirby's Super Star, I already have that for my SNES (which I recently hooked up again) and I would have bought the DS version if the developers hadn't messed with the control configuration. Honestly, am I the only one who actually prefers the original SNES control style?

Re: Capcom Cordially Invites You To Decide The Next Versus Title

BlueFlameBat

Definitely CAPCOM vs Nintendo (or Nintendo vs CAPCOM). I wanna have characters like Mario, Samus, and Link pull their special moves off Street Fighter-style. Knocking your opponents off the screen is fun, but sometimes you just need a good old fashioned slug fest. Well, I better get started with signing up with CAPCOM.

Re: No More Heroes 2 Gets A Control Shake-Up

BlueFlameBat

Did any of you actually experience any trouble with the controls in NMH 1? It doesn't take Motion+ to simply point the sword up or down, and I think the controls in NMH2 will be the same with the remote and nunchuk as they were in part 1. If you want to complain for the sake of complaining, go ahead (I do that a lot myself), but you really shouldn't be worrying about loss of remote and nunchuk support.

Re: No More Heroes 2 Gets A Control Shake-Up

I guess you could say I'm never happy. A for jump and B for attack is great on an NES controller, but the Classic Controller is almost identical in design to the SNES controller, including the placement of the buttons. For some reason, I seem to be one of the very very few people who were actually satisfied by the way controls were set-up on the SNES ... and are still set up on XBox360 and PS3.

I still want that redesigned black Classic Controller badly.

Re: First Impressions: Classic Controller Pro

BlueFlameBat

I wish they'd get rid of the analog function of the Classic Controller's L and R buttons since I don't know of any games that actually utilize them and simply tapping them wasn't enough unless you were playing a Naruto game.

"One of the new characters, our favorite trash-talking princess, is arguably the most useless character of the bunch but you will no doubt choose to play as her anyway in the one level in Jabba’s Palace where she is dressed in her ‘slave’ bikini costume."

I remember Nintendo Power saying she was actually the best character in the game when it came out for SNES all those years ago.

Re: Two New Hudson Titles Coming Soon

Whether intentional or not, I don't think I'll ever be able to read or hear the name FBI Agent Sara Starling without being reminded of Special Agent Clarice Starling from Silence of the Lambs.

Re: Phoenix Wright Was Considered For Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom

BlueFlameBat

As for Nintendo vs Capcom, I'd want it to play like a Capcom fighting game, not a Smash Bros. game. It should also be online-multi-player compatible with Wii Speak or a better Wii voice communication system that could be made in the future. If they decide to put some Resident Evil characters in, they'd better put Jill and/or Rebecca in before even thinking of inserting Barry.

Re: Phoenix Wright Was Considered For Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom

BlueFlameBat

Wait! I thought there was no intention at first of releasing this game in the U.S. And even if there was, you could just make the English letters much thinner in the attack move ... or just keep the original Japanese characters as I'm sure most of us would know what they meant.

Re: DSi Firmware 1.4 Defeated Already?

BlueFlameBat

Sigh
Using something like this to play older games or DS games you can't get (in my case Giana Sisters DS) is fine, but using it to pirate what you can buy is just uncool. Maybe for trials, but that's it.

Re: Sexy Poker - ESRB Rated Sans Nudity

BlueFlameBat

What a load of crap!
Even if I did consider exposed female breasts a form of nudity (which I don't), I'd still complain that an M-rated video game has a harder time getting sanctioned nudity than an R-rated movie, both of which are restricted from being purchased by anyone under 17 years of age without a guardian present. This should fit nicely alongside Pong Toss.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy Shines in 720p

BlueFlameBat

Not having HDTV was a surprising mistake for Nintendo, who once claimed to think ten years in advance. Before she left, a spokesperson whose name escapes me at the moment mentioned that not enough households own HDTVs. Funny how rapidly that's changing.

Re: Drawn to Life Brushes Onto Wii

BlueFlameBat

It is not easy for me to paint using the Wii remote. Maybe there compatibility with the DS for that purpose will be optional.

Only for that purpose though. I hate it when you can't access certain features because you don't have both versions of a game!

Re: Turtles In Time Remake No Longer Coming To WiiWare?

BlueFlameBat

This is what happens when you pop a cork without any champagne in the bottle: you come up empty and get no bubbles. The TMNT remake was never officially even hinted at for WiiWare. This doesn't mean it won't make its way to WiiWare eventually, but it's not planned so far.
