Re: Review: Data East Arcade Classics (Wii)

BlueFlameBat

@SmaMan
I feel your pain, but I also think including Night Slashers would bump the rating up to an M (or other region equivalent). This is why I think the parental controls should be advanced to limit content within certain games based on the settings. That way you could put more than one rating on one disc.

Re: Review: Sonic & Knuckles (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)

BlueFlameBat

I already have Sonic Mega Collection and I'm not dying to play this game with a Classic Controller or Wii Remote, so I think I'll sit this one out. I wholly recommend this to fans who don't have SMC or SMC+ though if you don't get pissed off about losing all your beloved collected coins after one tiny collision with an enemy (or maybe just 90% if you're quick enough).

Re: Miyamoto Hints Towards Next Console

BlueFlameBat

I'd much rather Nintendo make a more expensive system with high-end graphics and sound (among other things) than a system that could only be compared to PS3/XBox360 or even PS2/XBox. Not all of the Wii fans would buy it for what it would have to cost, but that's why Nintendo should continue to support the Wii after the successor's release instead of suddenly stopping support for the Wii to pull the Wii's customers to the new system.

Re: Miyamoto Hints Towards Next Console

BlueFlameBat

I really hope Nintendo doesn't decide to make her next console simply a Wii with HD support. I think Nintendo should make her next system a powerhouse that can at least come very close to matching PS3's and XBox360's successors and continue supporting the Wii long after her successor is released.

Re: Dead Space Extracted From Wii?

BlueFlameBat

Isn't a pointer or gun peripheral essential to the enjoyment of this game? I think PS3 has one for a Time Crisis game, but what does Xbox 360 have? Even if I get Natal, I don't want to use my finger as a gun barrel. I'm sure as hell not buying a game where I have to use control sticks to point a cross-hair unless it's a free-roaming FPS.

Re: Review: Yume Koujou Doki Doki Panic (NES)

BlueFlameBat

I'd be willing to shell out 600 points for the original on the VC, especially if the ability to run was added. I haven't bought the American Super Mario Bros 2 on the VC yet because I already own it on my actual NES, on my SNES as part of Super Mario All-Stars, and my Game Boy Advance.

Re: The Grinder Gets a Release Date; Goes Multi-Platform

BlueFlameBat

I don't mind that they're taking this multi-platform, I just think it sucks that they're not bringing more to the Wii in addition. Even a Dead or Alive beach volleyball game could shake off some more of that collected crap that is the kiddie coating fanatics are continuing to slam Nintendo with.

Re: Hands On: Yobo FC-16 Go Portable SNES

BlueFlameBat

This reminds me a lot of the Sega Genesis Nomad. If I ever see one of these babies in a store or a kiosk at the malls, I'll definitely give it a try and, if works well enough, I'll buy it. I'd better carry a couple of SNES carts in my backpack whenever I plan to go to a mall tomorrow.

Hopefully Nintendo will be inspired rather than scoff at something like this and/or try to take legal action. I can think of a few ways they can take advantage of the DSi like this by enabling some of the Virtual Console content by registering your DSi to use with the Wii, registering your DSi to the same account your Wii has, making SNES, NES, Genesis, and TG-16 games available on the DSi Shop Channel and making the ones you already bought for your Wii available to download to a properly registered DSi at no additional charge.

And for those of you who cannot watch the video or are too lazy to watch the whole thing, it's $50, it can hook up to the television, multi-player is done with one of two extra controllers that come with the unit, it uses a rechargeable battery pack, and it only plays SNES carts unless you rip a couple of tabs out.

Re: Castlevania: Rondo of Blood ESRB Rated

BlueFlameBat

The ESRB sucks! They tease you with titles like Earthbound. That one's been rated for quite some time now and a VC release is nowhere in sight. Not that I give a crap about Earthbound, but other people need to be happy too.

Re: Reggie: No New Console Successor Anytime Soon

BlueFlameBat

I'd rather Nintendo wait until the time is right, although I wouldn't mind some sort of HD-enabling attachment if that's possible in the meantime.
And when the Wii's successor does come out, I hope Nintendo continues to support the Wii as a less-expensive alternative where all the "niche" (is that the right word) titles can continue to be developed rather than greedily halting all support of the Wii like the did with GameCube to selfishly usher all their faithful fans to the next console. I'd rather Wii's successor compare to the PS4 and the next X-Box rather than the PS3 and XBox 360.

Re: Nintendo Doubly Outsold Everything Else Combined In US Last Month

BlueFlameBat

If only...
(Is distracted by Firkraag's user icon)
Is that Cammy?
Anyway, it would be nice if some third-party games sold as well. I hope the rumor that Nintendo actually turns you down if your game is too good is false. Either way, it's no wonder serious developers are reluctant to make serious video games for Wii that aren't ports of PS2 and PSP games.

Re: Netflix on Wii confirmed

BlueFlameBat

"...whacking the Netflix disc into your console..."
I don't think I've ever heard or read "whacking" being used that way, but whatever.
Surely there must be some kind of online rental store in Europe and Asia.

Re: Sega: Nintendo Should Support Mature Gamers

BlueFlameBat

I don't agree with SEGA very often, but this time I do. I'm not saying we should give Mario a chainsaw and have him dice Koopas in horrible ways, but there should be some mature content developed by Nintendo or at least using characters from Nintendo's world. Maybe a GTA-type game set in F-Zero/ Perhaps send Samus after some humans. Maybe make a Zelda game that's like Fable. I wouldn't mind the return of Eternal Darkness. I'd really like that bloody parody of Super Smash Bros Brawl to become a reality.

Re: Capcom Growing Less Keen on Wii?

BlueFlameBat

I already reserved Tatsunoko vs CAPCOM. I hope that doesn't fumble in sales unless CAPCOM makes us pay to download key codes to unlock additional characters, stages, and modes that are already in the game.
