Yunno, as much as I love the virtual console, I'm quite fine with the delay. It will give me time to just enjoy the couple of games I plan on getting at launch. As long as it isn't forgotten about, because I think it is an impeccable service.
Huzzah! I'm totally down for Nintendo expanding our Zelda experiences after the game releases. It makes it so that I can get excited for more Zelda after 4 months instead of 4 years.
@ShadJV I don't think a sequel is really necessary. The game has variety and tells it's story as much as it needs to. Expansive modes (like Boss Rush) and such are great because it just adds a little more flavor and it would be cool to have more of those. A sequel wouldn't be a bad thing, but the current game feels just fine on its own.
Honestly, I stopped wanting to get an NES mini just because I missed getting one day one. Makes me pretty happy that that's $60 that can go toward my new Nintendo Switch
It would be really nice to have a Gamecube VC, but it definitely doesn't seem ready in any form. I feel they would make a Gamecube-Joycon hybrid because of how gung-ho they are about the idea of taking your home console anywhere (rather than just letting the Switch use the Wii U Gamecube Adapter). It's pretty hard to say if the Gamecube VC will happen at all, but if it will, I expect it to come in 2018.
Right now just focus on the Switch. No need to confuse all us buyers with what product might be around the corner. The Switch is coming out in a month and I want it end of story.
It's cool that they have kept up with placing Zelda games in this mystical timeline. I enjoy it because the timeline gives a lot of people inspiration to image how things looked when going from game to game. What happened to the Temple of Time? How did death mountain change? How did the world getting flooded affect everything?
Then when you mix it with the idea that each game is a legend that gets passed down with time, it makes me smile.
Skylanders is really not my cup of tea. I actually don't know anybody that plays the games at all. But whoever does and is bummed there won't be one this year, just give it time. Every franchise needs to breathe once in a while.
I've got a Pokemon club at my college and every single one of the members are getting only Pokemon yellow, strictly for the color. I actually am playing through blue and I actually like the black and gray because it gives off the feeling of playing on a gameboy pocket.
The eshop's timing is something else. Just started playing Golden Sun: Lost Age a couple of days ago on my Onyx GBA SP and here it is on virtual console. Looks like I'm gonna do a secondary playthrough.
My prediction is that Federation Force game will sort of be like The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords. Took a series that was predominately single player and made Multiplayer. Four Swords used multiple Links because they split him up by personality. Sure they could have split you up into multiple Samus's but they didn't want to have that story element and the Metroid series is already story heavy enough to not screw up continuity by bringing that story device into the series. What I would like is that they have Exploration of an ins and outs planet and Avatar strength progression. That is what Metroid is to me and if they are trying to broaden Metroid's horizons with a fun multiplayer experience for the people that skip out on Metroid because it normally doesn't have that, I'm on board.
@Nintendo_Ninja Yunno, you're right. Wind Waker did keep the Dungeon Crawling and didn't replace with a Goofy Hyrule Soldier. It doesn't mean though that Federataion Force won't keep the exploration of one, or multiple, planets. We just need to play and see.
I would say the comparisons to Wind Waker are fair. When people saw what little gameplay there was to Wind Waker before it was released, Wind Waker looked bizzare. Much more cartoony and sailing around on water. Of course you still played as a green tunic wearing boy, but the game just didn't seem to be as graphics pushy or ground breaking as Ocarina of Time. Not what you wanted for The Legend of Zelda, but opinions changed when people played it.
I, for one, don't really see federation force being something that should never be. I like that Nintendo is expanding the Metroid Universe of games by almost "redefining" what a Metroid game is. It will be great if this game is very solid as a standalone game because that will give more credit to the Metroid name. Sort of like how Luigi's Mansion is not a Mario Brothers game, with platforming. Sure it is a spin off and not the 3D Mario that we hoped for, but it was a fun pass time that gave the Mario Universe something to expand from.
Federation force isn't a game where Samus on a desolate planet is the focus, but that doesn't mean it should be overlooked for trying to appeal others to the Metroid name. If it is a fun game, Metroid fans, such as myself, should be proud that the game is under the Metroid name and Universe.
Love the tagline for this article. People always are thinking when a computer can do things we thought only a human can do, like composing music, it's the beginning of artificial intelligence completely replacing the human race.
I wonder if this computer can conjure up a kaizo world of sorts.
I still love the Wii U and can't wait for it's big releases later this year. Even if this system hasn't done that spectacular, and I know almost no one that owns it, I enjoy this machine and all of its content
Yup I've been waiting for an announcement for the smaller model to come to the US ever since Japan got their announcement. I will continue to wait on upgrading my 3DS XL model until this one comes out. I'm pretty excited that Reggie has hinted at it
Ugh, I really wish that this article wasn't on the face of this news site. It's one day until the Smash announcement and if Sakurai announces these characters tomorrow, and the rumor is true, it's going to be a muted surprise. The article should have been less obvious as to what the rumor is. Make it so that those that want the spoiler will get what they want, and those that want to just wait one day and be surprised can be cautious but secure. Say "code found that rumors two extra characters in Smash"------- ambiguous
Hmm... To Resident Evil or to not Resident Evil?... That is the question...
Seriously though, I've never played Resident Evil before and was wondering if anyone recommends Wii U Revelations as a good way to be introduced to the franchise.
So, the reason why I am excited about the NX is because even though we don't know almost anything about it, it's Nintendo showing us that it is still progressing with its focus: video game consoles. A lot of people worry that the Wii U has damaged Nintendo to the point of jumping ship, but they say they actually have future projects for the inevitable 6-7 years it takes for a new console to hit the scene. That's what I can feel safe about as I look forward to more Wii U titles.
Never tried Sega's Outrun, so it seems 3D Outrun is the game to play this week. I would be disappointed about no Metroid: Zero Mission, but next week is another week. And man these weeks fly by.
Hilarious because I've been reading this site regularly since 2008 (when it was named vc.reviews) and have just now joined. Weird that I can now talk to all the users with comments that I see at the bottom of these articles everyday.
