How's the voice acting in this one? I've been playing the first daily for the last 3 months, and there are many instances where the subtitles aren't voiced, which is pretty shoddy when you consider how few lines there actually are. It irks me when the vocals only utter a couple of words when the text has 3 whole lines (this is typically at the start and end of workouts sections).
Similarly, only two of the four women are bearable. One is annoyingly hyper ALL of the time, while the remaining one sounds like it's been voiced by two people who are diametrically opposed - like they've pitch shifted half of a good dialogue and half of the hyper one to create someone 'new'.
I have wondered recently how easy it would be to mod the game to 'fix' these issues, and to change the music.
I like the sound of this. BoTW without all the bits I didn't like.
With any luck, all the negativity will mean the price tanks fairly soon and I'll pick it up in a sale soon, just as I did with Starlink. I've more than enough to keep me busy until then.
You can achieve the same result on Sega GameGear using contemporary hardware. The GG TV tuner has an AV socket that will work with composite video input.
The PS4 and XBone somehow passed me by, so this year might be a good time to pick one up while there'll be a cheap surplus. I can't say I'm too bothered though, I have a mountain of games for my Switch and previous systems still to work through. If anything, it's more likely I'll be selling some stuff rather than acquiring more.
@NoMoreRobots Can we have some larger text while you're at it. I bought it last night, played through the training levels and tinkered with the menus a bit, but so much of the text is barely legible for this old man. Those of us who started gaming in the 70s are getting on a bit now, so these quality of life things make a big difference. As it is, I'm not 100 % sure what the game is telling me unless I play on the big screen.
Really loving what I've experienced of the game so far though and the price point is good, I feel like I'm getting VFM with it.
I think it's a decent song list, but the whole concept of being some bloke playing records is offputting. It feels like they're doing it to distance themselves from the plastic band games, but seems to somehow miss the point of those. We want to play the rockstar fantasy, not be some wannabe playing someone else's music (and yes, I can see the irony in that).
I bought this for Wii when it first came out, but it remains unplayed. I just couldn't bring myself to do it when I found I'd been sold a horribly censored version that broke its aesthetic entirely.
Of those games, there's a couple I might buy once they hit £20, but not one I'm really excited for. BOTW in particular is going to have to be something really special for me to buy into it.
@Laxeybobby Having played through Fallen Order on PC, there isn't anything in it that a well ported/created engine couldn't cope with. It's a whole lot of small areas, with relatively few enemies in any one location. We've had far more complex games on Switch.
Personally, I don't think it's worth the effort, I found it severely underwhelming. I can only assume it's highly rated since so many of the other Star Wars games are so bad, so it's relative to those.
@Agriculture I was using my pro controller in tabletop mode daily before we started working from home. The office is somewhat isolated, there's not really anywhere interesting to go to or do anything nearby, so lunch hour was a gaming hour for me.
I think where this is potentially useful is for multiplayer sessions, using pads for other systems you own or getting a mate to bring one with him.
The original game is available on the Playstation Classic. I bought one for my daughter to play Tekken during lockdown and she's ended up playing through Abe's Oddysee quite recently.
@CooperFrank Cloud gaming won't necessarily remove platform barriers to access games, it'll just change the barrier from your console to the subscription service you have.
We'll have a Netflix/Amazon Prime/Disney+ situation where no single service will have access to everything you want, there will be gaps so you'll either need multiple subs to services or resort to piracy (the latter more so when it's the case a service isn't available in your area - with Disney+, I couldn't GIVE them my money to see The Mandalorian as it was a US only thing for months).
Seems very reasonably priced to me. A fully packaged indie cartridge for less than Nintendo sell discounted digital copies of their Switch games for even years after release.
Not much bigger than a PS3, and dwarfed by my current PC.
Not that it matters. I'd have another Playstation in a heartbeat, since they launched they've had more, and more appealing, games than any of the Nintendo systems I've owned, which is the thing that counts with a system, not how the container looks.
If the Switch were just a home system, I'd give it a hard pass, but being able to play at work at lunchtime, then drop into things where I left off on the TV later is what makes it worthwhile. Shame there's so few of the big name titles make it over - I'd be happy with ports of older games, I bought into the Assassin's Creed ports in the hope we'd see more from Ubisoft, for example.
I bought one of these games as a big fan of Ultrastar Deluxe. Sadly, it just doesn't compare, with the meagre selection of tracks available offering only a couple that any of the family were even vaguely interested in.
It could really learn a lot from Just Dance, that game knows how to offer value and variety with a wide selection of tracks available for variable periods at affordable prices. The grandkids love it and even the older among us can find favourite songs.
As a recent Deku Deals convert, I'd recommend it to any Switch owner. Mich more categories of lists to browse, including new releases, new sales, deep discounts etc that make keeping on top of new games and offers much easier. That they record the history of sales too is quite neat, so it's easy to see if a game has had better deals or if it's one that regularly sees discounts to make more informed budget choices.
Personally, I've found some hidden gems and taken a punt on a fair few sale games I might have otherwise missed were it not for the site. They're doing a better job of keeping things transparent than the estore.
Edit: beaten to post by 10 seconds, bit the sentiment is the same. Get yourself to Deku Deals.
There's a slight flaw in the comparisons in this feature. Assuming I'm an average consumer (which I think I am, hitting many averages in life in general), I'm never going to buy Yes, Your Grace where I've at least had some interest in Not Tonight.
My guess with this one is that they didn't want to get tied into supporting it with bug fixes etc over a long period, since it probably wasn't subject to extensive QC. Now a few months down the line, it hasn't been much trouble for them and politically it's a good move to leave it there.
@WoomyNNYes I'd like to think that's the case, but it would be nice if it was confirmed. I can't be the only one with the question, and there are possibly other users out there like me who aren't aware the F2P launch date has passed.
I bought this in a sale ages ago but never got round to even launching it, never mind playing. Will it still recognise I'm a paid owner and give me the freebies, or did I need to get online and register before it went f2p for that?

At least this way they can blame the poor box office takings on Covid and not on the fact it's a Mortal Kombat movie.

Re: Here's Every Song Included In Fuser's Soundtrack At Launch
@doctorhino Yes, the game description is a tad misleading. The whole DJ industry seems to work around this false premise.
Re: Here's Every Song Included In Fuser's Soundtrack At Launch
@doctorhino This game isn't about creating music, it's about playing someone else's.

I like it's visual style and at £3.59 I don't expect to be getting weeks of play from it. For the price, it looks worth a purchase from me.
