I liked MiiVerse a fair amount. Neat way to communicate from within games. Wish they wouldnt have moderated it so hard, but i'll miss it all the same. I hate when games and servers go offline....
Thank GOD. for months ive been getting flagged in Miiverse for sharing my Switch Friendcode with EXISTING FRIENDS!! Thank you nintendo...please just add a webbrowser and Netflix and We're ALL GOOD.
Doubt that it becomes a competitive esport game--it's too simplistic--but this doesnt mean it isnt a fun game with some good oportunity for competitive online play at a non-esport level. it's fun and interesting and seems to offer some depth of competitive play. I think. it's weird, like the article says. but im enjoying it.
Oh man, i so hope this happens. I've watched KoK 4 times and love it every time. And i'd love to see a musical struggle with presenting their personalities in a fair way (we all know what im talking about here.....both of them are 'far from awesome' in moments of the film....)
Humans are our oppressors! They made us live in this horrible motel! They created us in ungainly forms so we could not rise against them! Try walking around with your legs tied together and glue on your shoes, you'll see what I mean!
@manu0 You seem pretty hostile so I'm going to leave it alone. Thanks for the input. Seems counterintuitive to propose that power consumption has no impact since it's widely distributed. But hey, whatever man. Apologies for suggesting that people turn off devices.
@manu0 In order for your argument to have validity, by your own logic, you'd need to provide evidence that it doesnt prolong the lifespan of the hardware. Actually, it seems simple: does leaving a device on wear it down (even by a small amount)? Obviously, the answer is yes. Whether or not this is negligible, is a different question. Agree to disagree, i suppose.
I power it down fully when docked. I sleep it when i'm going to use it again soon, particularly when traveling.
Even if your estimates of wattage are accurate...lets consider. If 10 million Switch are sold, that translates to 10 million wasted watts, per day. I'm not concerned about money. I'm concerned about energy wastage and the effect on the planet.
Fine, dont turn it off. But I think its silly to argue "show me evidence" when, I dont believe, there is evidence against my argument. You only cited battery life in context of long power-downs. I'm talking about powering down for a day or two at most. Which, I stand by, may well prolong my system's lifespan. I havent heard evidence to the contrary.
I'll be using this, if its actually a true "full power down" button. I hate sleeping systems when I know i wont be using them for a while. I prefer to fully power down to save system lifespan not to mention not wasting electricity.
Love the game, but its too easy. I wish the hard mode was an option immediately--or even better, that i could switch my current gameplay file (midway through the game) to Hard for the rest of my time with it.
They should address the timeline for Switch shortages and when regions should expect increased supply, and also the Mini NES which people still wish to buy.
As a USA gamer, i never encountered Dizzy until I picked up a used NES copy a couple years ago. It's style definitely reminds me of the types of games i played in the 80s on my Apple II and IIGS. The gameplay mechanics are dated these days, but i've had decent fun messing around with it.
The first game was excellent and I'll be buying this sequel for sure. Glad its coming to Switch instead of WiiU so that I can have it as a portable experience.
Factory farming is definitely disgusting. I support PETA's underlying efforts but this does make them sound silly if you're predisposed against them.
I dont eat meat but I do drink milk, but we buy it from a local farm dairy in glass jugs, so the conditions for cows are far better than the massive milk producers.
@Tyranexx original kid icarus on NES is a true classic. I've always considered it the '4th pillar' of the original NES (SMB, Zelda, Metroid....and poor old forgotten Pit). If you have a 3DS, the 3D classics version they released is really worthy.
@PorllM Disagree. It gives clear context of the scope of the game, and directly impacted my gameplay (there is no way i should even bother trying). I'd been excited I was finding them before--now im like "why bother".
Sure it isnt a full on spoiler, but they didnt need to mention the # in the headline.
I'm very excited for this. I'm pretty sure I played this game as a child at a friend's house, and have long wondered what game it was (it was fun). Definitely buying it.
I'm so downloading this today. $10? Heck yes. Love the original (even though I can never finish it, no passwords/saves = i get bored before i get to the end and turn off NES) but i always find myself going back to it.
Without even knowing much about MOST of the games on the list, the following will already be 'definite buys' for me
The Fall 2 (if you didnt play Fall "1", do so. It's awesome) Mr. Shifty Steamworld Dig 2 Binding of Issac + Blaster Master Zero WonderBoy Shakedown Hawaii ToeJam and Earl
I'll even check out this 'Duck Game' if people can explain why...
I just played Toejam and Earl on the Wii virtual console recently and it lived up to the hype. Some frustrating elements that show their age (i.e. falling down levels and having to SLOWLY walk back to the elevator, collision detection and other issues) but it was surprisingly good, even for me, who has a middling opinion about many famous (i.e. supposedly good) Sega classics.
I thought people were mocking Duck Game being on the list (the title doesnt impress) but can someone tell me why this is so amazing? Never even heard of it.
The fact that his spreadsheet ranks Cobra Triangle and Legacy of the Wizard so highly in difficulty (10 and 9, respectively) makes me feel better about myself--i've played both of these games throughout my life and never seriously dreamed of beating them, so knowing they're this difficult makes me happy.
Also makes me feel a lot better about myself in that he ranks RC Pro Am as a 9 is cool--i've definitely beaten his criteria (level 24).
the spreadsheet is amazing. I recall someone saying To the Earth is one of the hardest games to beat. He gave it a 9, and took 12 hours. So there's hope.
Coincidentally just played this game for the first time recently. It is indeed pretty fun, and im playing solo, so if it sounds appealing to you, go ahead and try it. A lot of the Japanese flavored weirdness is worth checking out in itself--the sort of goofy humor and translations that modern retro games try to emulate all the time. (Also download a PDF of the original manual--its insane)
Been meaning to get this game. Love me some twin stick shooters and this looks cool from the videos. Looks a little slow paced for a twin stick honestly, but the multiplayer will hopefully make up for it.....
It's promising that he is aware/discusses Thomas Was Alone, Affordable Space Adventures, and Zack/Wiki. All excellent games with neat ideas and unique elements.
I've played a bit of it, and have 7 compatible amiibo. I've also played the previous Minis games. It's ok. Its a nice freebee. I'd rather play a game like this on my 3ds--its a bit slow for a console television game--but its fine. I'd give it about a 6.5 or a 7 score similar to NL.
