Re: Poll: Do You Own This Rare Twilight Princess Box?

tylerryan79

If cex has it, maybe they are upping their reprinting game. The cex I have been to in the states used to reprint covers all the time. It was obvious inkjet tho. They may be printing alternative covers to avoid any legal issues, or whoever prints this stuff picked the wrong art. As to its quality, nice glossy paper and a good high dpi printer? The cex connection is suspect to it being legit either way.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Chocobo GP

tylerryan79

@LEGEND_MARIOID same, but for me the newest sonic racing game didn't hit the high that was Transformed. That game had the best singleplayer for a racer. Crash was fun, but I never clicked with it. I'm hoping GPs story mode has more going on than just races, similar to how Transformed had the extra events. Either way I'm excited to unlock new racers and tracks etc as I play.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Chocobo GP

tylerryan79

I personally was bored of mario kart 8 back when it was a wii u exclusive. It never had a good single player experience like sonic transformed either. The new switch release even had all the tracks unlocked at the get go. And I believe the characters were all unlocked. Lame

This game has a new single player mode, hopefully similar to sonic transformed singleplayer. It has new characters to unlock and tracks etc. I can't wait to play it. Once I unlock that stuff, I'll consider playing more, but that's usually enough content for me to feel I've gotten my money worth.

Re: Video Game History Foundation Calls Out Nintendo's "Destructive" 3DS & Wii U eShop Closure

tylerryan79

Now all of a sudden everyone is trying to act like they use the eshops everyday, and are buying all sorts of stuff from them. I'm sure there are people using them, I just bought some stuff off the Wii U eshop earlier this year. I'm also sure the amount of revenue it generates vs its cost to maintain in money and manpower isn't worth it anymore for Nintendo.

Now everyone will flock to the eshops and buy up games they likely never cared about in the first place, otherwise they'd have bought them by now. Games they clearly can live without, since they've been doing fine without them so far. Much like the ps3 shop probably got a huge surge(I know I bought some stuff) and is again probably slowly dying down to its former low numbers.

As to this article, the preservation etc, this stuff is likely safe. It's not the 70s. Everyone and their mom is preserving everything. People will be able to pirate stuff they want to try in 20 years, pr they'll buy it now and hold onto it to play(like I will do). To expect them to forever maintain and sell every game ever made from now until the end of time is stupid in many different ways. To think it's some sort of right owed to us is just as dumb.

Remember, we will all be dead in the next 100 years, gone to nothingness like a tree chopped down in the forest. Play the games now while you can, and you can't play them all. Or do something with your life and stop reading this!!
Fyi, Ima play to I DIE!!! YOLO!!!$!$!!$

Re: The Upcoming Super Mario Movie Is Getting Its Own Range Of Toys

tylerryan79

If they are atleast as good of quality as the World of Nintendo toys or the Mario Kart Hot Wheel cars I will get them. I have so far passed on the Lego toys. Those lego were just dumb looking to me and I was bummed when they got revealed.

I might have missed it, but is Jakks Pacific the manufacturer for this new toy line?
Edited: Read it again and yes clearly says Jakks Pacific

Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Strife Will Be A Season Pass Exclusive In Chocobo GP

tylerryan79

@Anti-Matter yes Cloud is iconic. The game Final Fantasy VII was/is the GOAT to many gamers who played it in the 90s on Ps1 and to many more since. There's a reason they did that whole FF7 remake after all. Cloud, a character from a 90s game, made a Nintendo Direct to be announced he was being added into Smash Bros. Huge name recognition, huge following. Iconic character from and iconic game.

Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Strife Will Be A Season Pass Exclusive In Chocobo GP

tylerryan79

So they take one of the most iconic FF characters and do this with him? Looks like it's almost guaranteed Sephiroth, Squall etc will be some kind of unlock.

I don't understand what it means that everyone has access to the season, but not the season pass?? What is the difference? I don't mind grinding for unlocks. I mind having to pay money, then still grind.

Re: Disney Is Releasing A New Free-To-Play Racer On Switch This Summer

tylerryan79

I also get very worried when I see a game genre that's well established, such as a Kart Racer, get the f2p treatment. In my mind it immediately is the beginning of the end for that genre. Soon all other similar type games will say me too, and do some dumb f2p thing. I fear in 10 years time when half of nintendos awesome games are a service, and that is partly why I collect old video games. I will always have something I can play on my own terms, without some company wanting me to purchase gems and crystals and skins etc.

Re: Disney Is Releasing A New Free-To-Play Racer On Switch This Summer

tylerryan79

I was very excited until I heard it was F2P. For one, I wanted a physical version to always have and play. Secondly, if it was good I wanted to be able to play this year's down the line when switch is long past its prime. The idea of having levels and grinding races to unlock things appeals to me, but if there's no single player championship, and if it asks for money and buy gems all the time, no thanks. Hesitantly curious, but likely not going to bother. Chocobo Racing is still looking fun tho.

Re: PlatinumGames Is Keen To Create Titles That Are "Different" From Its Past Efforts

tylerryan79

I thought he meant they would make games people would want to play in 20 years still. Games that hold up like your Mario's, Dk, Resident Evils, Final Fantasy and other classic JRPG games, and obviously 100s of other great games. Then I realized he probably meant live service games they can milk for 5 plus years. I don't mess with those games. They're more likely to create a flop service game no one cares about. I feel only few of those live service games actually succeed and most just slowly wither away after the initial release. Maybe I'm wrong on that, like I said I stay away from those games. I pay once and nothing else unless there's a sizeable expansion.

Re: Random: Nintendo Kart Is Trending On Social Media, Following Claims Of Mario Kart 9 Being "In Active Development"

tylerryan79

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was not the best. The Wii U game, plus the Dlc was. Why you ask? Because the Switch version gave you all the tracks from the get go. The Wii U version had progression and it was a game in itself playing the cups and unlocking everything. That was the funnest part for me, in any racing game. Deluxe was a let down when every cup was available. Not the best, Missing what the original had.

Re: Tormented Souls Arrives On Switch In Early 2022

tylerryan79

This game originally had the physical release listed for a few weeks after its pc/ps5 release date. It also said it was coming out on everything digitally at the same time. I had it pre-ordered, then right before the date of the physical release they switched it to Feb 22. Hopefully that doesn't change. Either way, I already played it in Steam. Great game.

Re: These Adorable Pikmin Plush Are Being Restocked In Japan

tylerryan79

If you look on ebay you can find pages of these from China and usually cheaper than getting them from a store. The quality has been the same with the expensive ones I've bought. They're either coming from the same factory through the back door, or they are coming from a factory that copies them exactly, tags and all.

Re: Roguelike Shooter SYNTHETIK: Ultimate Is Out On The Switch Today

tylerryan79

If anyone's ever played a twin stick shooter, you move with one stick, and aim with the other. Usually you never let off of the sticks. With this control scheme the stupid circle reticle would be off the screen if you kept holding the stick the direction your aiming. Isn't natural, and you end up with the circle reticle doing all sorts of dumb stuff making the game feel more difficult. I personally don't aim and let go of the stick when I play these kind of games, so I just can't get used to how it behaves

Re: Why Is Fire Emblem So Dark On Switch? It Reportedly Runs On The Same Emulator Used On Wii U

tylerryan79

@StevenG do you throw everything away and buy it new again after one use? Is using the same game engine on multiple games lazy? Should they code a new emulator for each new rom they want to run? Do you try to reinvent the wheel every time you need to go someplace? Do you design new sneakers, and go to a factory and design new machines to make said sneakers, and then teach a new person to run new equipment to make your new sneakers, every time you need to put on sneakers? Or do you use what works already and is proven stable and you have on hand?

Re: Rodea The Sky Soldier Is Being Removed From The Wii U And 3DS eShops In Japan

tylerryan79

@Shadowthrone look at the Silent Hill demo on ps4. Imagine that was an actual game, and now its removed from the store. You never the game years back, but boy do you want to play it. Now what? You go on eBay, and buy someone's console who did buy it, and now you get to play the game, and use their account I guess. With physical, not a problem, except it is going to be a problem as more games are released needing patches etc.

Re: Final Fantasy IX Is Getting A Physical Release On Nintendo Switch

tylerryan79

@realityxaidan I think it depends on if you have ever played any Snes, Ps1 era RPGs. If you have, and you like the older style and/or can play the older style RPGs with the newer mechanics and streamlining missing then Id say play them in order of release. So VII, VIII, and so on. I personally loved VII, but these days I'd play VIII over it. X is great, especially leveling up, but it feels too limiting in exploration except in a few spots. X is where the series stopped using the overworld map. VII VIII IX you travel across the globe from town to town, and it is part of the grand scale those older games made you feel. XII is hands down my favorite. The battles are streamlined, you auto attack, but you set up conditions, like if HP<100 heal, or Enemies health>90 focus attack on them, so it is very fun to set up and tweak. IX I've never beat, and I think is overrated, I loose interest in the second disc. VIII has a cool junction system, and the best mini game, a card game. You collect cards by playing npc and its awesome. They're all good games, but like I said, if you like RPGs start at VII.

Re: Scalpers Are Already Listing The "Limited" Switch Release Super Mario 3D All-Stars

tylerryan79

@papermarioamiibo people do not like the idea of a group of people buying up a product, especially before its release, to then flip it for a profit. Its seems like a fraudulent form of supply and demand. They wonder if the demand would have been met by the original supplier had not the scalpers come along. Its a problem with fairness, and at want point is this practice no longer ok. Since the product is a game, no one cares to stop it. Also the supply is still there, so seeing it for double its worth is just arrogance and people taking advantage of morons.
