We know the core voice cast, but pretty much everything else about the forthcoming Super Mario movie is very much shrouded in secrecy, with very little known about the plot, setting or what it will actually look like.
However, we do know that it will be accompanied by a range of toys created by Jakks Pacific. Two toys have been confirmed by Amazon Canada – a 5-inch Toad figure and a 'Mini-World' van playset – but neither listing has any imagery or other details.
YouTuber Vailskibum94 spotted the two store links, which you can view below.
The fact that a Toad figure is being produced isn't all that shocking, but the Mini-Van World Playset hints at something quite unique; while Mario is no stranger to a kart, he hasn't been seen in a van in the mainline Super Mario games.
In fact, the last time we spotted him in a van, it was in the 1993 live-action Super Mario Movie. Gulp.

I'm a sucker for new toys. Depending on the quality I might buy at least one item.
Super Money Maker 3: Mo' Plastic, Mo' Problems
lol is this going to be a road trip movie?
@NinjaWaddleDee That would be the absolute worst lol
Call them limited edition, make a few small changes to call it ultimate premium deluxe edition, put a stupidly high price tag and profit. That's how these things are done from what I've seen here, correct?
Mini World like the MiniLand theme park from Mario vs Donkey Kong?
The van is probably Mario and Luigi's van for their plumbing service
I’m hoping McDonald will have some Mario toys too as the movie releases. Always good bang for the buck
@AAAHATEAS Okay, that’s a much better guess. I was worried it would be a road trip movie 😅
I wonder how the designs will differ from what we're used to (if at all). Toys are usually the weak point in movies, where secrets leak out so we may see something soon.
Potentially a Wrecking Crew van because we know Foreman Spike is in the movie. And the actor who played him said Spike was their boss in the movie.
I'd kind of suspect the movie will start in the City. Because DK is in the movie I suspect Mario will be breaking Barrels with a Hammer and the Wrecking Crew connection is probably a good way to give Mario a Hammer.
If they are atleast as good of quality as the World of Nintendo toys or the Mario Kart Hot Wheel cars I will get them. I have so far passed on the Lego toys. Those lego were just dumb looking to me and I was bummed when they got revealed.
I might have missed it, but is Jakks Pacific the manufacturer for this new toy line?
Edited: Read it again and yes clearly says Jakks Pacific
Can't wait for the toys to make spoilers for the story.
Months from now there will be a story about how kids can't get any of these toys because collectors have bought all them all and prices are way up on ebay.
@NinjaWaddleDee You mean a Toad Trip movie!
“Please, Nintendo, don’t turn me into a marketable car!”
A movie figuring of this guy, why not.
Toad from Super Mario Bros. The Movie.
FINALLY. I've been waiting for decades for them to make toys out of Mario characters!
Metal Mario, Metal Princess Peach now is Plastic Toad. 😆
I would take DK, Cranky Kong if they are in the movie, and any other Kongs even before these two.
@tylerryan79 Dude, yeah, Jakk’s Pacific has done great work, or at least has come into their own with the Nintendo license. I have nearly all of the 2.5” and 4” (plus the four 6” deluxe characters they made as well) “World of Nintendo line from 2014-2017 before they rebranded it to essentially JUST Super Mario, along with maybe half of the mini sets and plushies from that era, respectively, as well.
Had to stop collecting once they ditched the “World of” moniker, as it wasn’t as fun without all the other franchises, plus it gave me more time and money to devote to amiibos, which I’m still about forty shy of a complete collection, and would almost certainly have to drop AT LEAST a grand and a half just for those forty, so I’m thinking of selling both collections as is really soon instead.
Maybe take up gardening…
@Nameless_Shame oh wow I didn't even know they rebranded. I have a few of them in my game room, was wondering why I wasn't getting too many hits on facebook marketplace.
Q: "Who wants a plastic Toad?"
A: Anyone with a soul.
@denpanosekai Honestly, it’s kind of cool that now we’re getting more than just the main Mario cast with the likes of the Koopalings, Kamek, Hanmer Bro, etc. but it also still means that every new wave still has at least two Mario clones EVERY time.
It really feels like before, we had access to essentially a Smash Bros.-style lineup of figures, and now it’s just a Mario Kart lineup of figures. Makes sense if that’s all the kids want, but DAMN man, we got all of team Star Fox, a litany of Zelda characters, various Samus suits, a big ol squishy Metroid, Inklings, Villager, and Pikmin before they made the change, and I’m still waiting on my 4” scale Olimar…
