@Araragi I couldn’t agree more. I find it stunning when people try to defend censorship of games. As if it doesn’t cost the team valuable time to have to go back and change something. Some devs are even leaving the industry, and yet it’s not big deal. Until the censor something you like of course.
Gold and Silveer not coming out until September is a bit of a joke. I'd pretty sad Crystal doesn't seem to be coming. That's probably my favorite of the mainline games, though Y may have snatched that spot. This motivates me to finish Moon as I've still yet to run through the Elite 4(not sure if they're even in this game) for the first time, so I must do that asap.
Though I've been playing Bloodborne, among other things, in preparation for the announcement of 2. I've also decided to run through Etrian Odyssey IV again in celebration of V finally seeming to be on its way to NA. The amount of time for this announcement was brutal though man.
I'm also hoping to see a gen IV remake announced next year. I'm usually pretty iffy on remakes, but I stopped playing Pokemon after Gold/Crystal until XY came out. The remake done for Alpha Sapphire was great though so I'd love to see more of that.
@CrazedCavalier Sure, and I can get down with that kind of thinking if its a series you love. Nintendo has had a habit of making it quiet hard to support the recent games with a clear conscience. While I had some problems with Awakening, it was still a pretty great entry. But NOA butchering Fates was a joke. As was not having dual audio, even Atlus and Square Enix have added the option in their latest titles. I certainly wasn't the biggest fan of having to buy three separate games to get the full Fates package, it wasn't really my issue. I ended up picking Birthright and Conquest up used, but knowing I was playing an inferior version killed what little enthusiasm I still had for the title. So Nintendo really hasn't given me much reason to give them the benefit of the doubt. Though thank god the Switch isn't region locked.
While people certainly like to show how enlightened they are on the internet by throwing out the usual: 'only weebs want to pet cartoon girls, i'm glad its gone, you can just look up porn on the internet, you're probably a loser, learn what censorship is' etc. Though if you spend your time talking about 3DS games online you're already a bit of a dork. Not to mention after a creator makes a game, puts it on the market, and then someone not involved in the creative process comes along to rip bits out, and then act like they had no choice but to do it. I'm not about to give Nintendo money, or at the very least pay full price, for a version of the game that has had content pulled out in order to justify Nintendo's joke of a localization department.
If Echoes ends up being good and it doesn't come out that they've once again removed content and it has dual audio I'd be happy to pick it up along with those gorgeous amiibo.
lolol Nintendo has really fallen in love with the whole DLC scheme. Though I don't think I've ever seen a game where the DLC costs more than the game itself. I may pick this up, but I'm certainly less likely to do so now. Either that or pick it up used instead.
What a joke of an article, I thought I was on Kotaku for a second there. It seems that someone doesn't have a firm understanding of the English language. If this is the future of Nintendo Life then no thank you. That rampant Nintendo fanboyism that goes on at this site is bad enough, but this is just a joke. There are plenty of other sites that actually know what they're talking about in such situations. Once again, no thank you. I suppose I'll stick around Push Square, but I don't think I'll be spending much time here in the future.
@BlatantlyHeroic And I can understand that, I'm just saying that simply because something in a game mirrors a part of human nature that isn't very nice, doesn't mean it should be taken out of the game. And quite frankly if a bit of face rubbing caused someone to relive their traumas I'd tell them to grow a thicker skin, as they would be unable to function in society in that state.
New Vegas > Fallout 4. While 4 wasn't bad per se, there were a bunch of little things in it that just put me off of it after maybe 15ish hours(dialogue system, no skill trees, perks weren't very interesting, etc.). I haven't even finished the main storyline yet, but I really don't have any desire to go back to do it. I loved 3 and New Vegas and I know I spent 250+ hours in Skyrim, and likely similar numbers in Morrowind and Oblivion, so me spending only 15-20 in Fallout 4 is really kind of sad imo.
@ultraraichu. Well it's not like NoA and Treehouse have given people reasons to trust them with localizations. I really got worried about Fates after the Fatal Frame and Xenoblade debacles. And to be fair the face touching is still out, along with The Soliel support conversation(which people who can actually read Japanese, myself included, will tell you wasn't about gay conversion/drugging), and dual audio(though there are licensing issues that could've caused this, though I would argue Nintendo always knew the game was coming west and should have written the contracts with the Japanese VAs to reflect that).
@TomJ IDK what VC stands for, other than the virtual console and venture capital but I doubt that's what you're referring to. Either way I couldn't care less whether people are sick of hearing about: NoA being incompetent, Nintendo fans rabidly defending Nintendo and insulting those who criticize the company's actions, or me ordering the superior version or buying used.
I didn't say them leaving this in with married couples was bad either.
@BlatantlyHeroic So things in which people have experienced trauma irl shouldn't be in games? Well, that's going to kill off at least 95% of video games that have been made. While games can help people get through trauma, they shouldn't be created as some kind of coping mechanism. Sure some games can be made like that, but people should in no way expect the majority of video games to keep that kind of content out of games.
See NoA could have just come out in the beginning and stated this instead of letting the rumor mill work its magic. It seems like NoA is either incompetent or just doesn't care, both of those being pretty bad in their own right.
Its funny how a lot of people like to try and defend Nintendo while also putting down the people who weren't happy with the changes. Calling someone a nerd, creepy, and weebs simply because they think differently about the changes is laughable and speaks volumes of the one calling the names.
Either way I'll either be importing a JP copy or just picking it up used.
While Mirai DX is a great game, IA/VT does the rail button system much better and I prefer Project Diva to Mirai. The main reason I even got Mirai is because Gumi is in it, otherwise most of the songs are in the Vita games and I prefer the Diva character models. Still a great game though, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with a 3DS that likes rhythm games.
The Nendoroid is okay too, though I'd pick up a higher quality one if I was going to pick one up.
@Xenocity Not sure how on earth you're linking Japanese games with casual and Western with hardcore. Some of the most hardcore games I've played in the last five years come from Japan. I don't think you could find someone to seriously argue that games like Etrian Odyssey, Dark Souls/Demon Souls/Bloodborne, Shin Megami Tensei, or Megadimesnion Neptunia are casual. By that same token I would consider Fallout 4, Halo 5, and Battlefront to be extremely casual. Though unless is something it's like Candy Crush, Bejewled, or FarmVille(phone time passers basically) I try to stay away from the casual/hardcore argument.
I would be in the group that criticizes Nintendo for being overly protective(for lack of a better word) of its audience and not working on enough games that would attract older gamers or people looking for more 'mature(once again, for lack of a better word)' games. I think there is a very good reason that Nintendo gets the criticism is does for trying to parent it's fan base, and the kid friendly argument just doesn't hold up. Nintendo can't possibly hope for mainstream success without broadening the types of games available on the system. Though the argument can be made that they should simply create secondary systems that compliment the PS4/PC/Xbone, though I wouldn't agree with the argument.
Once again, Nintendo receives the criticism it does for a reason, and I would argue that their current plan of babying their consumer base is unsustainable. But I most certainly wouldn't jump the shark and label Japanese games as casual and western ones as hardcore.
In regard to the article, sure listening to the younger developers isn't a bad thing.
Nintendo needs to get their ducks in a row before they start working with VR. They need to concentrate on making NX consumer friendly and the best it can be. Sure they can make it VR compatible, but they should in no way bundle it with the system. They can let Sony test the waters before releasing their own headset.
Nintendo won't be the one to bring VR to the mainstream though, if anyone that'll be Sony. This is simply due to the number of PS4s in homes and the fact that all of those systems will be able to run PSVR. Oculus will be on the cutting edge of VR as PC usually is, while PSVR will be for the mass market as consoles usually are. Adding to this is the number of games being built with PS VR(or VR in general) in mind: Driveclub, Until Dawn, No Man's Sky, Ace Combat 7, Gran Turismo Sport, Robinson: The Journey, etc. It's looking like games won't be an issue for VR and the deciding factor will be price point. The most likely scenario is that, at least with PSVR, Sony will sell the systems at a loss and make the money back on software in an attempt to lay the groundwork for the user base. Xbox is really screwed for the rest of this generation, as the Oculus features for the system are a total joke. So it's really coming down to Sony to bring people into VR.
I'd love to see a VR headset from Nintendo though. I'd imagine they'd do a lot of fun stuff with the tech. But Nintendo really needs to get its act together before this is even viable.
"Expanding 'kids and female demographics.' I'm not sure what this means, tons of kids and girls/women play the 3DS. I'm really not sure there's anything the could do to expand those demographics as most games are already appealing to those groups.
I'll wait and see what these 'strong' titles are, as I've learned not to get my hopes up when it comes to Nintendo.
@Xenocity People who identify solely as American Indian or Alaska Native make up approximately 0.97% of the US population, so if we want to accurately depict the 'diversity of players' there will be next to no American Indian characters in games. It seems people like you only care about the color of ones skin and not the content of their character, and that's pretty sick, not to mention racist.
@joedick What is 'you haven't been through what they have' supposed to mean? Have any of the descendants of American Indians alive today had to walk the trail of tears? No? So what are you talking about? American Indians are treated like any other person in modern day America. Discrimination in the workplace and the judicial system is illegal, and if they encounter racist people that's a problem with the individual racist and there is really nothing society can do about that. So why can't I tell someone whose offended to get over it? Are you of the opinion that they aren't strong enough to get over it on their own?
This is a stupid change and people who would be offended by this have bigger problems than a job class in a video game. And while this may not be Nintendo directly, this is a perfect example of why I won't be getting a NX until Nintendo stops carving up and mutilating games before they get here.
I've already got Zero Escape on Vita, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. I might pick up Fantasy Life, and that price is really making it a tough choice.
These discounts are really quite sad though. Most of these only have a few dollars off and Nintendo could definitely do better than 30%. I mean it's not like Nintendo's broke or anything. I appreciate the effort, but come on Nintendo. I mean, I picked up Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition for $10 last night. Every other system has much better sales than Nintendo does and much more frequently, I'm not sure why it's so hard or Ninty to get on par with them. They really need to if they want more people shopping on the eshop.
@nintendomasterr Not only is it the normal thing to do among localization companies, but people actually come out and try to defend the concept of getting an objectively inferior product(less features). Its like the think the world revolves around them, and they're fine with train wrecks like this games localization. Until the day comes when something they like gets cut an they be crying foul from the rooftops.
@TheAceofMystery I can agree with the sentiment, though I would tell Nintendo to suck it up. After all there's not much they'd be able to do other than not buy the game, and I'm sure as many people won't be buying it now after the train wreck this localization process has been.
@AlexSora89 Exactly. It's really kind of worrying seeing how many people have trouble discerning fantasy from reality in regards to video games.
@BulbasaurusRex ...it's not real life though, so not sure what the point of bringing up the face punching thing is. But I'm not really sure I see how this is crossing a line, I suppose if you're someone of Puritan where all sexual contact is crossing the line then sure. This is exactly the problem, at least in America, right now. We've gone from the right wanting to censor games to protect the kids, to the left wanting to censor games to protect people's feelings. If you're okay with momma Nintendo picking and choosing what they think you're ready to see that's fine, but most people are responsible enough to choose for themselves. This is also why Nintendo is considered to be such a joke by so many people in today's industry, it really seems like the company just doesn't know what it's doing.
Yeah, after the train wreck that the localization of this game has been, I'm just going to pass on it altogether. If anything I'll be importing a copy from JP, but I'm not a big fan of being treated like a child by mommy Nintendo.
There will always be a place for local multiplayer, though it's not a prevalent as it once was simply due to lifestyle changes and changes in technology. Nintendo needs to get better with online MP but that doesn't mean they have to ditch local. Hopefully we really start to see the online communities for Nintendo's games blossom when the NX comes out.
@CB85 Well having a gay guy and a lesbian is a pretty accurate representation of reality. Only 3.8% of adults in America identify as gay/lesbian/bisexual so it's be kind of weird if half, or even a fourth, of the characters were gay. I'm not sure why people insist of shoe horning characters into games for 'diversity.' Why are we putting so much emphasis on what someone is born as, and can't change, instead of the individual and their ideas and personality. That's extremely backwards if you ask me.
On the topic of this article, I couldn't care less whether the characters are gay as long as they're well written characters. It's really annoying that Nintendo think us in the west can't handle a gag drugging scene. Though considering the absolute wreck the games press is in and puritans like Sarkeesian on the scene I can certainly see why they think we're all a bunch of puritans.
@TingLz And Nintendo has joined those companies with that $100 Fire Emblem. If Nintendo wants to keep their digital prices at a ludicrous level because they perceive they have value that's fine, but it means less and less people will be tempted to go to the eshop and more and more people will be buying used. It really isn't doing itself any favors.
In regards to the sale I might pick up Freedom Planet but everything else I either have or the sale price isn't enough to tempt me. Here's hoping next week won't be this bad.
When The VR market starts to really blossom I'm sure Nintendo will be thinking about putting a set out there. As far as I'm concerned VR is where gaming is headed and Nintendo will have to out a set out there. I don't think VR will replace the current format of having the screen several feet in front of your face but it will be giving it a run for its money.
@japongt I agree I mean it's a gorgeous 3DS. I was just waiting specifically for a FE one though and it literally makes no sense for Nintendo to have waited until now to announce this thing. And that's not even taking into account how annoying it is that this game will cost so much.
Jesus, why did it take so long for Nintendo to announce this 3DS?! I was waiting to see if they announced one before I upgraded to the New 3DS so I could get one. But I figured if they hadn't announced it by Christmas there wouldn't be one so I just got a Hyrule Gold version. I mean announcing this literally a month before release is a joke. It really seems like Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing anymore and it's driving me up a wall. At this point they're just as bad as EA or Ubisoft. They are charging you an arm and a leg to get the 'full experience' after all.
@Mario-Man-Child I couldn't disagree more about the negativity, but I suppose our standards for 'too much' negativity are simply different. As customers we have every right in the world to criticize a company's performance and Nintendo isn't exempt from that. No one has asked them to release them all at once but they've had nine years at this point the the VC is still missing some too games from all the supported platforms. If you're willing to accept sub par support from Nintendo that's fine, but that doesn't mean everyone else will.
@Mario-Man-Child Last time I checked Nintendo Life isn't the only source of Nintendo news.
On topic: NoA really has no idea what it's doing with the VC. I would hope it'll get better with the next generation but NoA had disappointed me time and again so I won't be getting my hopes up.
I can't believe the major if site users picked the first choice for the last question instead of the second. I really can't fathom what they've seen that got them to get their hopes up that this will be a good year for Nintendo.
@Dr_Lugae PlayStation VR doesn't require the move controllers though. They're pitching it like they enhance the experience(why wouldn't they) but they're not required. And there's no point trying to capture the Wii's audience, they don't care about video games and most never will. For a majority of Wii owners video games are just a little distraction when they drunk with theirs friends and/or family and have nothing to do. And not having a killer app is hardly a death sentence. While I would agree that having a game that really shows off the tech would be best, but the PS4 still doesn't have a killer app by most people's standards and it's well on its way to the 50 million mark. And I'm not really seeing how the PSVR requires the black box is a black mark against the system. And as for the price, new tech is always expensive and it's always enthusiasts who are the first adopters. But that price inevitably drops and more and more people begin to purchase whatever the tech is. HD TVs are a perfect illustration of this. It would be nice if Oculus was cheaper, but it's hardly surprising and once again hardly a death sentence. Using a controller is hardly rocket science as well, most people aren't looking at the thing when playing games. Saying that not being able to see the controller is some major black mark against the tech is kind of reaching. And as an extension, you can use the move controllers or whatever Oculus and Valve are making, but they aren't required. So the controls will be as intuitive as they've always been.
I can understand VR not being for everyone, but the reasons you have are reaching pretty hard.
@AVahne And then when Nintendo releases a headset most of those same users will be singing praises from the rooftops of how innovative Nintendo is.
They really should have been doing this throughout the Wii U's lifespan. One of the most damaging factors to the Wii U was the long droughts in between big releases. Without third party support this would have been a great plan to keep fans happy in between the release of new games.
The Link Nendoroid is really nice, but I've already got a Wind Waker Link Nendoroid and a Ocarina of Time figma, so I think I'll pass. The fox figure is really nice as well.
I remember everyone talking about how Xenoblade X was a big 'AAA exclusive' and it would do 'so well' over the holidays. And now it's back to being realistic about how it's a niche title. Hopefully Nintendo steps it up with 2016, but I would have my hopes up until I see some proof.
Why would I care about what she thinks on the issue? Censorship is censorship, and localizations have steadily been getting worse and worse. I would just import the Japanese version but Nintendo still region locks their systems as if the audience are all children. Nintendo, and especially NoA, make baffling decline regularly.
@JaxonH Well, I personally do like the game pad, I think its a wonderful little gadget (though I wish it had a better screen). But I think it was a mistake for Nintendo to make them mandatory and ship them with every console. I understand the logic behind that decision, it's the same reason Microsoft shipping every Xbox One with a Kinect. If Nintendo wants to innovate that's fine with me, but it shouldn't be a mandatory expense on the consumers part. I can understand that people want Nintendo to do their own thing but at the end of the day Nintendo is a business and is out to make money. The mainstream have flocked to the PS4 and there's a reason for it, it's getting most, if not all, of the third party games whilst also getting some great exclusives like Bloodborne, Persona 5, Disgaea 5, Uncharted, Horizon, Gravity Rush 2, Horizon, Gran Turismo, Nier 2, I could go on. Nintendo needs to make a system with better hardware than what's in the other two, ships it with a normal controller (unless its a hybrid, then I suppose a tablet kind of thing is integral.), begs third party publishers to come back, brings the heat with their IPs, and gets their online infrastructure up to date. I know this has been said a million times before, but if I could have a system where I have Fire Emblem and Etrian Odyssey next to Rainbow Six Siege or whatever those companies are dropping at the time, I would be sold and I'm sure plenty of others would be as well. And I understand the argument that Nintendo should work towards making a console that people buy to sit next to their PC, PS4, Xbox, but that really didn't seem to work last gen.
I'm completely open to new ideas and different ways to play games. As I said I'm a big fan on the gamepad and think it was a great idea, but it also helped cripple the Wii U. Nintendo isn't in financial trouble now, but they can't keep throwing ideas at a wall until something sticks. I grew up with Nintendo and I would love to continue to enjoy the games they make possible until I'm a withered old man. I really feel that if the NX bombs, Nintendo is going to be in serious trouble and that's the last thing I want to see. I'm hard on them because I love the products they put out and feel it would be a detriment to the entire industry if they went the way of Sega.
Edit: And Nintendo really can't survive on an selling products to ~11 million people. Developing consoles and games is simply too expensive and the company would have to seriously downsize or go third party to be able to support that kind of business model. As with any other company, Nintendo wants all the money it can get. It would be much less expensive to just develop a console that can actually compete with the other two and try and take a chunk out the others install base. Regardless the company can't survive in its current state by investing millions in developing consoles and games only to see them bomb like the Wii U.
@Robotron2084 That's true. I hope it would be referring to a hybrid. I would really like to see that as it would mean series that depend on the dual screen setup (Etrian Odyssey) continue. It would also be wonderful if the tablet controller is compatible with the system.
People seem to be really upset about someone insinuating that their precious Wii U might be a bit underpowered at this point. Though I do hope Nintendo sees these kinds of comments from devs and decide to make the NX easier to port to.
This game is really fun though, and I'll certainly be picking it up when it launches.
"It will be something unique and different." I really don't like the sound of that, another console with another silly gimmick will be hard to successfully pull off. I think the need to drop a normal console with a normal controller, then sell a tablet controller or whatever separately. Though I do hope Nintendo does something great this time around. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.
It's really quite impressive how Comcept took a potential money printer and completely turned everyone off of it. It's been a while since I've seen a marketing campaign so completely backwards and Inafune launching Kickstarter after Kickstarter certainly didn't help either.
That's good, if I didn't already have a Wii U I'd be all over that smash/splat bundle (and an external hdd of course). I'd very much like to see the breakdown of how the big three did over the weekend.
I never played it on the DS, so I'll likely pick this up next month. I'm a huge fan of horror, but I'm not sure how well the genre would work on the 3DS. RE Revelations was really good, but it never really scared me.
@leo13 No problem, it really just depends on how you want to play it. In story mode you are given specific classes for defined characters who you can later switch to a different class. While classic mode you start out picking your own party from a selection of like 15ish classes and can choose their character models and names and more or less role play. In story your given a narrative for why you're exploring the labyrinth and progressing through it and in classic you really just kind of make up you're own. But when I play the Untold games I'll play through the story mode first relatively quickly then go back and play classic and that's where I spend the majority of my play time. It's not really the same as FE though, as there is no perma death. But you can play classic on easy difficulty of you want or hard and the same goes for the story mode. Though I usually play the story mode on a lighter difficulty and classic on one of the harder ones.
Ohh Nintendo, why do you make me second guess my purchasing of your products. Treating variable bust sizes as something dirty and should be eliminated is dumb and frankly wreaks of sexism. This only makes me less inclined to pick up Nontendo products in the future. This is why Nintendo is the laughing stock of the gaming community.
And I love all the red jarring a being thrown around about 'pervy boys only wanted fap material.' Firstly, what someone does with their character is none of Nintendo's business and secondly the issue is the needless censorship of a product because of a handful of peoples' aversion to the female body.
@leo13 Sure, it'd certainly be a good place to start the series as its a remake of the first with an added story mode. Though it usually takes me ~130ish hours to knock out an EO title, but you could certainly get done with it much quicker if you went through the story on picnic difficulty.

Re: Let's Clarify Exactly How the Fire Emblem Fates 'Skinship' Mode Works in North America
Re: Random: Beware Cuteness Overload With This Dancing Hatsune Miku Nendoroid
While Mirai DX is a great game, IA/VT does the rail button system much better and I prefer Project Diva to Mirai. The main reason I even got Mirai is because Gumi is in it, otherwise most of the songs are in the Vita games and I prefer the Diva character models. Still a great game though, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone with a 3DS that likes rhythm games.
The Nendoroid is okay too, though I'd pick up a higher quality one if I was going to pick one up.
Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Places the Emphasis on Young Staff and Targeting Consumers Beyond Games
Re: Soapbox: If Nintendo Took On Virtual Reality, Would It Be A Disaster Or Gaming's Holy Grail?
Re: Nintendo Outlines Future Plans for 3DS and Promises That "Several Strong Titles" are Planned
Re: Bravely Second "Tomahawk" Costume Change Confirmed For The West
Re: The North American eShop Winter Warm-Up Sale Concludes With 15 More Discounts
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@nintendomasterr Not only is it the normal thing to do among localization companies, but people actually come out and try to defend the concept of getting an objectively inferior product(less features). Its like the think the world revolves around them, and they're fine with train wrecks like this games localization. Until the day comes when something they like gets cut an they be crying foul from the rooftops.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@TheAceofMystery I can agree with the sentiment, though I would tell Nintendo to suck it up. After all there's not much they'd be able to do other than not buy the game, and I'm sure as many people won't be buying it now after the train wreck this localization process has been.
@AlexSora89 Exactly. It's really kind of worrying seeing how many people have trouble discerning fantasy from reality in regards to video games.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@TheAceofMystery Or maybe its not about the feature in and of itself, and more about Nintendo treating their audience like children.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@BulbasaurusRex So because you don't like it, no one else should be able to enjoy it if they want to?
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
Yeah, after the train wreck that the localization of this game has been, I'm just going to pass on it altogether. If anything I'll be importing a copy from JP, but I'm not a big fan of being treated like a child by mommy Nintendo.
Re: Mighty No. 9 Has Been Delayed Once Again as Keiji Inafune Offers Sincere Apologies
lol, the Japanese Tim Schafer right here.
Re: Talking Point: Online Gaming Can't Recreate the Unique Fun of Local Multiplayer, Yet It's Dominant
Re: Nintendo Further Explains Fire Emblem Fates Localisation, With Same-Sex Marriages In Each Version
Re: Another 17 Games Get North American eShop Discounts in the Winter Warm-Up Sale
Re: Editorial: Nintendo and Virtual Reality Aren't a Good Fit in 2016
When The VR market starts to really blossom I'm sure Nintendo will be thinking about putting a set out there. As far as I'm concerned VR is where gaming is headed and Nintendo will have to out a set out there. I don't think VR will replace the current format of having the screen several feet in front of your face but it will be giving it a run for its money.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates New Nintendo 3DS XL Model Confirmed, Along With DLC Details
@japongt I agree I mean it's a gorgeous 3DS. I was just waiting specifically for a FE one though and it literally makes no sense for Nintendo to have waited until now to announce this thing. And that's not even taking into account how annoying it is that this game will cost so much.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates New Nintendo 3DS XL Model Confirmed, Along With DLC Details
Re: Talking Point: The Allure of the Virtual Console and How Nintendo Can Harness It
@Mario-Man-Child I couldn't disagree more about the negativity, but I suppose our standards for 'too much' negativity are simply different.
Re: Talking Point: The Allure of the Virtual Console and How Nintendo Can Harness It
@Mario-Man-Child Last time I checked Nintendo Life isn't the only source of Nintendo news.
On topic: NoA really has no idea what it's doing with the VC. I would hope it'll get better with the next generation but NoA had disappointed me time and again so I won't be getting my hopes up.
Re: Poll: Are You Optimistic About Nintendo's 2016?
I can't believe the major if site users picked the first choice for the last question instead of the second. I really can't fathom what they've seen that got them to get their hopes up that this will be a good year for Nintendo.
Re: Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey Believes Virtual Boy "Hurt" the VR Industry, But It's Not All Bad
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich History With More Remasters
They really should have been doing this throughout the Wii U's lifespan. One of the most damaging factors to the Wii U was the long droughts in between big releases. Without third party support this would have been a great plan to keep fans happy in between the release of new games.
Re: GameStop Opens Preorders for Majora's Mask Link Nendoroid and Fox McCloud Figures
The Link Nendoroid is really nice, but I've already got a Wind Waker Link Nendoroid and a Ocarina of Time figma, so I think I'll pass. The fox figure is really nice as well.
Re: Nintendo Games Absent from UK Top 40 to Kick Off 2016
I remember everyone talking about how Xenoblade X was a big 'AAA exclusive' and it would do 'so well' over the holidays. And now it's back to being realistic about how it's a niche title. Hopefully Nintendo steps it up with 2016, but I would have my hopes up until I see some proof.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Voice Actress Is In Favour Of Lin's Western Costume Change
Why would I care about what she thinks on the issue? Censorship is censorship, and localizations have steadily been getting worse and worse. I would just import the Japanese version but Nintendo still region locks their systems as if the audience are all children. Nintendo, and especially NoA, make baffling decline regularly.
Re: Feature: Our Staff's Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo's 2016
@sonicmeerkat This, so much this. And I love how people are so quick to take a bullet for their holier-than-thou Nintendo.
Re: Microsoft's Phil Spencer "Would Be Happy" To See Nintendo Games On Xbox One
Well, Nintendo games on Xbone would certainly make more money than sticking with the Wii U.
Phil is a great guy though. He genuinely seems to love gaming and really understand what makes the industry tick.
Re: NX Won't Be The Next Version Of Wii Or Wii U, Says Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima
Re: NX Won't Be The Next Version Of Wii Or Wii U, Says Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima
@Robotron2084 That's true. I hope it would be referring to a hybrid. I would really like to see that as it would mean series that depend on the dual screen setup (Etrian Odyssey) continue. It would also be wonderful if the tablet controller is compatible with the system.
Re: Wii U Version Of Indivisible Not Possible, But NX Is Up For Consideration
People seem to be really upset about someone insinuating that their precious Wii U might be a bit underpowered at this point. Though I do hope Nintendo sees these kinds of comments from devs and decide to make the NX easier to port to.
This game is really fun though, and I'll certainly be picking it up when it launches.
Re: NX Won't Be The Next Version Of Wii Or Wii U, Says Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima
Re: Video: New Mighty No. 9 Trailer Aims to Bring Back the Hype
It's really quite impressive how Comcept took a potential money printer and completely turned everyone off of it. It's been a while since I've seen a marketing campaign so completely backwards and Inafune launching Kickstarter after Kickstarter certainly didn't help either.
Re: Music: Metal Gear Solid And Etrian Odyssey Composers Launch Snooze-Worthy Secret Of Mana Album
I can most certainly get down with this.
Re: Wii U Named as "The Top Selling Item on Target.com" In Black Friday Sales
That's good, if I didn't already have a Wii U I'd be all over that smash/splat bundle (and an external hdd of course). I'd very much like to see the breakdown of how the big three did over the weekend.
Re: Video: Get Creeped Out By the Final Pre-Launch Dementium Remastered Trailer
I never played it on the DS, so I'll likely pick this up next month. I'm a huge fan of horror, but I'm not sure how well the genre would work on the 3DS. RE Revelations was really good, but it never really scared me.
Re: Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is Currently a Bargain in North America
I hope that helped answer your questions. :3
Re: You Can't Alter The Chest Size Of Female Characters In The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X
Re: Timing Of NX Launch Could Help Nintendo Grab Some Of Sony And Microsoft's Market Share, Says Analyst
He pretty much said what everyone(who isn't a Nintendo fanboy) already knows.
Re: Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is Currently a Bargain in North America
@leo13 Sure, it'd certainly be a good place to start the series as its a remake of the first with an added story mode. Though it usually takes me ~130ish hours to knock out an EO title, but you could certainly get done with it much quicker if you went through the story on picnic difficulty.
