Re: Here's Your First Look At Crysis Remastered Running On Nintendo Switch

raviadso

Actually really like the original Crysis. Really underrated gameplay to go with its graphics. The first one was actually really solid.

I may pick this up. Probably not at launch because $30 and I'm already neck-deep in games, but in a month or two it should drop to 10-20 and it may be a nice pickup.

It's never bad to have an excess of games. That way you always have something to play and always some cheap games to pick up on sale when they get cheap

Re: Nintendo Talks Maintaining Momentum And More Announcements Coming This Year

raviadso

One a month with a couple of true all stars a year is all I’m asking.

June had Wolfenstein, Tennis, and Ys 8
July will have Octopath and Captain Toad
August will have Overcooked and Dark souls?
September has Valkyria 4 and maybe more but they didn’t even touch it.

Nintendo’s E3 was lame— not because they don’t have games but because they didn’t sell all the cool ones. I even love Pokémon and Smash and I was disappointed.

Cmon Nintendo, sell the good games you have — and surprise me. Maybe Yoshi and another WiiU port or two. Announce Animal Crossing and a date for Bayonetta

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

raviadso

Admittedly I don’t use the dock and baby both mine but I’ve played many 4-6 hour sessions on mine and I’ve never had any issues. No cracking, no screen scratches (I even left the screen protector off for my second one and the screen is SOLID)

Feel bad for those with the issues and not going to pretend to be an expert by telling them they did something wrong but as a handheld both of mine have performed like champs.

Re: Talking Point: Could Sony Or Microsoft Release Their Own Nintendo Switch-Style Hybrids?

raviadso

Can another company release one? Absolutely. They can use the Tegra X1 which is halfway between the 360 and Xbox One in terms of power (and also what the Switch uses). They can even use the Tegra X2, which is slightly more powerful than the PS4 in terms of tflops. They absolutely can make their own device based on those or similar architectures.

Digital Foundry, however, is talking about miniaturizing the architecture of a PS4, which is different. They absolutely can produce an energy-efficient hybrid console as powerful as the PS4, but they’d have to recompile or write new software for it.

I wish they’d made that clearer.

Re: Wolfenstein II On Switch Receives June Release Date And First Official Trailer

Yassssss

4/24 - South Park
5/4 - Donkey Kong (never played on WiiU)
5/18 - Little Nightmares
5/?? - West of Loathing
6/22 - Mario Tennis
6/29 - Wolfenstein
6/29 - Inside
Q2 - Lumines remaster (second only to Tetris)
Q2 - Bloodstained - a little Castlevania back on Nintendo
Q2 - Firewatch - got it free on PS4 and liked it but never had time for it. Perfect game for a road trip. Oxenfree and night in the Woods were enhanced by playing during bus/car/plane trips. I assume the same for this one.

Who says there is a lull? That's actually a solid lineup. Probably too much game to play and too little time with which to finish it.

Re: Nintendo's Damon Baker Hints At An Even Bigger Year For Switch in 2018

raviadso

THIS is ping to be the year of the third party

Pokemon and Metroid will be 2019. Maybe Fire Emblem too

Smash port, Kirby, Yoshi from Mario. Nothing as big as Mario and Zelda with Kart and Splatoon. (if there even is anything that rivals that). LOTS of third party though.

I am a believer. Fallout 4, Persona ports, new Shin Megami, new and ported Bayonetta, Dark Souls, GTAV, and hundreds of great indies.

My predictions:

Pikmin 4 - gameplay trailer. No announce date. Announce date released at E3 to be holiday 2018. Almost done for WiiU, but was held off for Switch.
Smash - WiiU port with all DLC and three new characters and two new modes. Coming May with the new online service
Kirby - February release date. Lots of gameplay
Yoshi - named, more gameplay shown. June release date
Pokemon - teased. Maybe 1-2 seconds of footage and a title. Will not release until 2019
Fire Emblem - Gameplay shown. name revealed. August release.
Mega Man 11 - shown off with some gameplay
Dragonquest shown. No release date announced until E3 event. Will make late 2018
Metroid Prime 4 - Gameplay shown (20-30 seconds). No release date. Ends up releasing early 2019
Wolfenstein - gets CG trailer and March release date. Playable at events, but gameplay not shown at Direct
Bayonetta - lots of gameplay shown for 1/2/3

5-6 Nindies are highlighted
2-3 other third party games announced without footage or trailers
Doctor Mario, SMB3, Balloon Fight announced for the online service. They announce that 2-3 will come each month including SNES, but won't name them until late Feb. March we get Mario World and SMB2.

Animal Crossing, Mario RPG/Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion - all no-shows

Re: Review: VS. Super Mario Bros. (Switch eShop)

raviadso

Dear Nintendo,

Please bring all your NES, SNES, N64, GC, and Wii VC games to Switch at your earliest convenience. It can do all of them. Just make it happen.

Then continue bringing all the WiiU games out on it (Mario 3D world, Smash, Pikmin, etc.) Havung the entire Nintendo catalogue on a mobile console would be the best thing in the universe.

Signed,
All the Switch fans

Re: Feature: Yooka-Laylee Jumps Onto Switch in December - We Learn All About It

raviadso

@MoonKnight7 I hope so too. I actually backed the game so I've been waiting for a long time. In February when the other console versions were getting released, I changed my reward to Switch and I've been waiting since then.

Sounds like the version that launched in April was a complete mess. Glad they had time to refine the gameplay. 900/600 is a little disappointing, but if it runs a smooth 60 or even a consistent 30, I'll be happy. Sounds like the wait will at least help the gameplay. Now here's hoping that it isn't a choppy mess with dropped frames and bad frame timings like Rime.
